That's only true for titles published by Nintendo, though. Nor for third-party software.
OK, I could be wrong because I had to google this, so correct me if you have something directly from Vandal, but it looks like they use point-of-sale data, not data provided directly by the publisher, so that would still mean that they don't have eShop data, which would still have to be provided by Nintendo.
Edit: To be more clear, this would mean that all of Vandal's data comes from retail stores, and not digital storefronts, unless the owners of those storefronts (Sony, Microsoft, Valve, etc.) are providing that data. This is different than, say, Circana, where they get data directly from cooperating publishers.
