Nintendo Switch 2 sweeps its debut with 108,000 consoles sold in Spain, doubling the previous record held by PSP

machine's popularity as a console for more than just playing its own games.

The Circle Jerking over the success of this thing on launch day is hilarious. Some are even worshiping the high price tags. There was little question it was going to sell well at launch. I think nobody denied that. After the fanboys have had their fill, I just still wonder if the mass consumers are going to adopt this. I still haven't found one reason a game like the new Mario Kart is $80. If I as a gaming fan cannot see this, the mass consumer may see this as well. Biting your nose to spite your face. Good luck with that.
some weirdo on this board kept making threads about how it was going to fail but I think they took away his ability to make new threads

I don't care about Spain sales. It's a small country and means very little in a console race.
Then why are you posting in a thread about Spain sales? You've officially lost it my dude

Anyone else shocked the PSP was the record holder?
That was my primary reaction,
Like the psp? Neat but what?
Incredible numbers, I do however think that if the PS5 hadn't had such a constrained launch due to pandemic/stock etc the units sold would have been in the same ballpark or even bigger than the Switch 2. Also mention that in Spain the "comuniones" are celebrated in May/June so the Switch 2 made for a really good gift for kids in the 9-10 age bracket.
But with the ps5 launch, if there wasn't covid causing supply issues, there also wouldn't have been covid spiking demand

We spaniards need to save 2 pays to afford rent but we can pay for Nintendo Switch 2 no problem since it's much cheaper. It also fits perfectly our lifestyle and makes the brige I live under feel much more like a real home.

Huh, it's the 32nd most populated country in the world (out of almost 200), what the heck are you talking about? lol.

Anyways, on topic. Not surprised, while I'm not interested in getting a Switch 2 (nor a Switch back then, because my PC and Steam Deck are more than enough to satisfy my needs), I've seen plenty of interest around my colleagues and friends (and not just those that had a Switch). I've seen more buzz than when the first Switch was announced, so I was expecting Switch 2 to do well sales-wise, but not this well. Curious to see how this goes in the future.

Great. Another expat rising the cost of living.

I totally get it- I'm also 39- so my hope is that the entire mess is somehow fixed by the time i'm 60. lol
Maybe the banning of AB&B's is a step in the right direction for some of the housing issues in major areas. Cost of living is a thing no matter what or where your from right now unfortunately.
