Speedruner finished Elden Ring in under an hour

Huh? Any% is the true speedrun. It's the other categories that arent
I didn't watch this video fully yet, still going through it. But they usually glitch out the game and break it to achieve the run. Not impressive to me. Especially DS1.

Yeah, it's tricky. I'm not into the speedrunning scene, but I always found the glitch inclusions interesting. On one hand, it's in the game. On the other hand, it's not in the spirit of the game. Always wondered how the community reconciled those two and if there were people on both sides of the fence.

Games often have "glitchless any%" or "no OOB (out of bounds)" runs for this reason. Ocarina of Time any% is incredibly boring because it's just using a glitch to warp directly to the end of the game in 7 minutes, it sucks.

Not surprised at all to be honest. Gameplay is pretty much the same as the other titles the make.

Oh look another annoying over sarcastic Streamer with a typical punchable douchebag face who thinks his commentary is comedic gold. Oh, skips basically entire game and barely fights anything. Yea, no thanks.

Mention @ me when someone speedruns with all kills and 0 hits. Thanks.

Wasn't there a speedrun of Far Cry 4 where the player can kill the main guy at the beginning and it took like 5 minutes? That's not really 'beating' the game.

Right, I think some of these runs would be kind of meaningless to me if I were to watch them. Like, big whoop.

impressive speedrun but he as already past my progress point in the game after 8 minutes. How long until a sub 30 with some kind of glitch shit?

Considering I've spent around 11 hours in the starting Limgrave area, I think this chap is a tad faster than me at the game.

Not really impressive, considering he glitches the fuck out of the game using exploits. I can salute the skill and system knowledge, but not the run itself.

wow paying 80 euros to play elden ring for an hour..what a waste of time

Are you sure you're not thinking of the secret ending? You're captured by the bad guy at the start, he has you tied up and serves you dinner, he has to leave to check on something and says he'll be back and that then they can scatter your mom's ashes (the reason your MC came to the country), and if you actually wait about 15 minutes (as opposed to freeing yourself and escaping with the rebels) he returns, takes you to the spot to scatter the ashes, and the game ends.

Honestly hilarious that the psychopathic murderer was being genuinely honest at least in terms of his intentions towards your MC.

Why are people referring to these 'runs' as 'speed runs' if they're glitching and cheating. Who cares if it's 'in the game'. If it's not meant to be played like that then it doesn't count. People are mentioning g out of bounds. Like wtf? How is that even passable as a speed run. This made me want to punch puppies. BotW in 20 minutes? Stab!!!

Speed run = start to finish played fairly or gtfo.

I watched some of this out of curiosity and yeah this guy seems like a douche and thinks hes funny/tries too hard to be funny.

Youtuber LILAGGY has managed to beat Elden Ring in under an hour (59:38 minutes) and achieve a world record

I skipped around to different parts. All I saw was him running around and each fight I saw he kept spamming frost spikes. I dont think I saw him swing his weapon once.

Wow, surprised at the hate this is getting. I don't get it, there is people that enjoy playing like that and people that enjoy watching it. It doesn't impact other people's capacity to play in any manner. What's there to hate?

Glitches are interesting (I always wonder how they are first discovered), no kill runs also involve skill by dodging for example... They are simply showcasing different ways to play the game.

I couldn't beat the game like that even if I tried.

It's just a different way to competitively play games that isnt for everyone. They still have to develop skills and techniques to do all this.

"beat" yeah sure alright...

not hating on what people do. if that's how they wanna play their games fine ain't doing me any harm but if this is the only way people play it's an insult to how great this game is. i'm 20 hours in and not fought the first (major) boss yet and have a shit load of map still to explore, at least 5 regions i think. and before anyone gets upset that i'm saying something positive about Elden Ring it goes for all other games too. If you get to the end of a game it doesn't mean you've beat it. You've exploited bugs/glitches to skip as much content as possible. Games aren't played like that but hey...do what you want if you find it fun and again doesn't affect me so I don't really care. Just don't say you beat it cause you didn't. At least play through it normally and skip optional content/cutscenes/dialogue before you say shit like beat or speed run.
