Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the first 24 hours

Congrats to Insomniac, they are one of the best teams in the industry.

I'll check it out on PC whenever it hits. I still have to play Miles Morales.

Doesn't quite work like that. You still have to account for operating cost, marketing, and licensing costs.

Without a doubt very successful and they could have made enough to cover the purchase for sure, but all the money isn't theirs.
 
Well deserved.

Whilst not perfect and not polished to say the least, it's by far one of the most fun games i've ever played and one of the best games this generation thus far.

Insomniac are easily in the top five devs these past 20 years.

So just to be clear, threads can be made about a certain other game and its active daily steam thingy, but one can't be made about a game breaking every first-party sales record so far?

Ragnarok was 5 days as it was released on a Wednesday. We'll probably get another PR post from them once it breaks another major sales milestone.

You must have missed the 24hrs part. And also the part where its predecessor took 3 days to even break that milestone.

Then again who are we kidding, even if it sold 10Min 24hrs I am sure you would have figured out some negative way to spin it.

Honestly doesn't and shouldn't matter.

I think what is important, matters, and what is worth noting, is that Sony has a number of studios that are capable of making games/IPs that are so critically and commercially successful.

As for the Wolverine stuff — a few folks thought Naughty Dog would struggle with The Last Of Us because it was mature. Sometimes, studios, especially of this caliber, deserve benefit of the doubt. Let them get the game out first. Hell, lets at least see some gameplay before we ask of Sucker Punch to take it on.

Not any studio can do action super hero games very well. Outside of Insomniac and Rocksteady, not sure which ones I would have confidence to do a good job. I think Insomniac *can* do a good job with Wolverine, but I think Sucker Punch has the chops to bring in a darker,edgier, not polically correct super hero like Wolverine and all the viscerality needed with a guy who has got dang claws embedded in his got dang fists.

But maybe Insomniac will surprise me. I'd be fine with that.
