Once you get to the lower tiers it gets very challenging.Quixzlizx said:I sent a PM asking for a guild invite. Seems like a fun time-waster, although so far everything can be easily killed by kiting with my gun.

Crowns are the currency.Forkball said:What's the difference between crowns and energy? Are crowns currency and energy is something else?
Every three levels there's a break area with a vendor that sells random recipes. The mats needed for each recipe is listed on the recipe (they vary)Forkball said:For crafting, where do I get recipes? What materials are useful for crafting?
Teknoman said:I was just about to jump in too. Btw is it smart to just buy any recipes available?
forkball said:Ok I need some tips:
What's the deal with the worlds? Even though they are tier one, some seem way harder than others. How do I know the difficulty of a tier?
What's the difference between crowns and energy? Are crowns currency and energy is something else?
For crafting, where do I get recipes? What materials are useful for crafting?
Any other general tips?
Also my name is Forkball, how can I join the GAF server/clan?
OMG, after my post asking this I saw someone say the same thing so I went looking though the thread looking for this "Varindo." Thanks for clearing that up. And 25 crowns to send a message? WTF. Guess I'll have to wait till I start playing. Or...Dreavus said:If you want to get into the guild just PM Varindo (Teknopathetic's character in-game).
Name is Akiva in game. Thanks in advanceTeknopathetic said:1. That's called the Wolver Cap, the recipe can be found at the half way point of dungeons, sold by Basil. He has a random rotation of items, so it might not be there the first few times you go visit him.
2. Yes, but you can buy energy via in-game currency.
3. Sure, what's your name.
Bah! Can't pull this off. It says I'm playing it for a brief second, then disappears. I don't get what I'm doing wrong.ArtistDude88 said:Just in case someone wants to launch Spiral Knights through Steam:
Click Add Non-Steam Game
Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\"
Add "javaw.exe"
It should come up as Spiral Knights in your Steam Library
Right-click Spiral Knights & click Properties
Change Target: to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar getdown-pro.jar
Change Start In: to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\spiral
*This was done on Windows 7
If you have trouble, put the Spiral Knight's launcher shortcut on your desktop.
Right-Click the shortcut, & go to the Shortcut tab
Look at the Target: box to find the location of your javaw.exe
Once that is added to Steam, Copy & Paste your Start In: bar into Spiral Knight's Properties on Steam.
check the shortcut in the start menu or desktop and just copy everything overdragonlife29 said:Just played it with a friend. It's a lot of fun.
But, uh...can fellow Guild members see messages from others' parties that belong to the same guild, but aren't necessarily playing together? I kept seeing random chat messages (and I recognized one of the names), but they weren't in my party. It's kinda funny, actually.

Only viable for the lower levels, since people cant upgrade your gear for you, you'd have to remake a new 2* in order to turn it into a 3*.shadowcomplex said:both, let someone else make it for you, thats what i did for my skelly helm just pay for energy and a bit extra for labor cost and gather your own mats
I still have about 800 left of my 1600, biggest spender is crafting i've done loads of runs for my money so far however.ArtistDude88 said:Dang, I burned through my 1600 energy rather fast. Lasted me 3-4ish days. I need to learn to pace myself! But it's so hard
No more opening arena challenges and bonus gates for other people I guess.
Which mats?Billychu said:I'm missing about 1 mat on every 2 Star recipe I have :/
Calibur: 1 Bronze Bolt, 1 SwordstoneNabs said:Which mats?
Billychu said:Calibur: 1 Bronze Bolt, 1 Swordstone
Blaster: 1 Bronze Bolt
Cobalt Helm & Cobalt Armor: 2 Iron Gears and 4 Blue Shards (combined between both)
Skelly Shield: 1 Dark Shard, 2 Ecto Drops, 2 Grave Soils
Yeah, that sounds fine. I wish Alchemizing this stuff didn't take 50 energy, It's going to be a few hours before I can make anything.Nabs said:i can give you the bronze bolt, ecto drops, blue shard, dark shard and grave soil for free if you want em. i'm nabso in game. i might be willing to part with the gears and swordstone for a price though.
when you craft higher star gear you need the lower gear first, so it's sort of half upgrading half making new.czartim said:So you can upgrade your equipment? How does that work?
I haven't been having this problem (but I've mainly been playing on my PC). But I can't get the numbers keys to work (for items) unless I'm standing still, which doesn't happen to me on my Windows desktop. This isn't a "too many keys at once" problem, so I don't know why it's happening.Quote said:I don't want to talk about how much energy I just spent reviving myself in a challenge room. Those things are so frustration because of the layouts.
Anyone else gaming on a Mac? For some reason if I'm pressing the Up Arrow and hit "1", I yell "Follow Me" instead of pulling out my #1 slot item. Or sometimes the # key I press will get stuck down so if I try to talk it just spams "1111111111111111111111111111111111111"

The way I got it to work is to rename the desktop icon to spiral.exe, which is actually (spiral.exe.lnk), set icon in steam to that and it sticks.Billychu said:I can't get Spiral Knights to have an icon in Steam. When I switched it from the Java logo to the correct icon, it just disappeared.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't stack. They always do in every other game with equipment bonuses.I Am Now said:Hey, Does anyone know if stat bonuses from equipment stack? Like if my armor gives me a low damage boost, and my helm gives me a medium damage boost, do I get both? Or just the medium?
