The weapon selection today in Salmon Run is pretty nice but Marooner's Bay is SO much easier than Spawning Grounds I have to think that is the biggest reason for the relative ease with which I got to the 1200 mark today.

Seems like people are getting better in general too, saw people waiting for team mates to use the elevators a bunch of times today which was pleasant, haha.

The "matchmaking" in this game is trash and the idea that it takes things like the weapon you use into account seems like an unfounded claim.
I love the game too guys, but oh man, being in a room that just trades off whichever team gets stuck with "freddy" the level 2 earning 170p every match is insane when almost everyone else is around level 20.

Join a game with friends and 5 times in a row get put into the opposite team that doesn't do anything.
When they all leave, that's the first game we win with ease. :-/

Anyone else having problems getting disconnected? Every other device in the house is as smooth as butter and when I tested my Switch's internet speed it was fine, but I'm frequently getting matches with a bad connection. Last game had everyone but one person on the enemy team poof. It was a 1v1 for a few seconds until it disconnected again and I got a warning.

I swear this is my experience in Turf constantly...

I don't use charge weapons myself but man, please try to do more than freaking camp. And my teammates with rollers/aeros/dual splat... please focus on inking than your damn k/d ratio.

Losing rounds due to not inking enough has haunted me constantly.

People who D/C should lose the ability to play online for at least a few hours, minimum.

Oh hell, this has made me lose Salmon Runs due to people D/C'ing like mid-wave... *cries*

It happened to me once so I went to the Switch's home screen then back to the game and it fixed itself.

A question:

B-/B player in Splat Zones and Rainmaker so obviously I'm not very good. I'm a dirty Aerospray user except for Tower Control where I haven't really put in any time in to it. I know the consensus is that Aerospray is kinda shit for ranked because it is poor for getting splats which kinda seems to be the ranked meta for this game from reading this thread and Google and such. But I've been finding good value in Rainmaker in laying down ink for my carrier to go in or forcing opponents in a direction with the curling bomb special. And using it as an area denial tool once you cap the point in Splat Zones isn't bad either, but with so much trouble killing I'm still debating its effectiveness in that mode.

Are these observations more to do with rank than the actual weapon and tactics?

I'm not against the idea that someone can do well in Ranked with an Aerospray but I think they'll have to be exceptionally good as it is going to get harder and harder as they get further along since higher caliber players will easily kill them from ranges that they cannot touch without using a Suction Bomb which is slow and ink intensive.

Maybe give the N-Zap or Splattershot Jr. a try? They can ink pretty well and have better range.

Well the matchmaking is not based on level OR weaponry.

The level stacking happens all the time, but just had the entire other team wielding Aerosprays.

Though I still love the Tentatek, I've been messing around with my N-Zap and while I love taking advantage of the ink armor and the higher rate of fire, my god do I find that I'm running out of ink constantly lol.

Man, it's so weird. Some times I get completely carried by my team and others I can survive without hardly dying in Salmon Run. Either way, I'm a profreshional once again!

Also, is it possible to feel more like a boss than soloing a Flyfish in the first cycle?

It is really fun and the match type variety makes the game way more interesting! (Plus there are a lot of people who don't really know what they are doing so it isn't like you'll stick out, haha!)
