How's the gyro with the Pro Controller guys? I don't know why but gyro in a normal size controller seems like it will take a minute for me to get used to over the Wii U gamepad.

Great! As someone already said, drop the sensitivity to compensate for the weight difference (I use -2) and you're golden.

This might be a dumb questiom, but can you draw up messages that players can see in the hub world like in the first game? I know miiverse isn't a thing on Switch (why Nintendo???), but that feature could easily be coded into Splatoon 2, so I'm curious.

I'm stuck with this boring weapon while offline in the campaign?

Is this true?

You mean the singleplayer campaign? You unlock more as you go. And can upgrade them too.

Yes! Go to the red post box on the front left of the Square. They show up above peoples heads and also as graffiti. =D

Game controls are what's holding me back from buying. I have zero experience with FPS'es on consoles, so I'm afraid that awkward controls will keep me from playing this.

Thoughts?
I suck at dual analog FPS (and I usually stay far away from them), but I think controls in Splatoon are fine, and I enjoyed Splatoon 1 a lot. It's just a bit ackward that you only can look down/up using the gyro (or disabling gyro entirely, which would be a waste, I'd say).

It was fine on Wii U since you weren't looking at the pad, but on portable mode on Switch, I find it a slightly bit disappointing it's not an option.

but Splatoon isn't about aiming anyway. Strategy is a huge part of the game, and you don't even have to look for kills.

Yes, go to the red mailbox

So, how the hell do I use the special weapon thingy (i.e. the special attack that isn't the one you do by pressing the R button)? The game tells me I have a special attack but I don't think it tells me how to actually perform it...

yup you totally can

i'm gonna go out and get a capacitive stylus just for this lol
head to the mailbox in the plaza

I'm not an online gamer at all, but I loved MK8 on Wii U and Deluxe on switch, and am actually excited to dig into this when I get home.

Just got to get through work.....

Oh hell yes! This might have actually cemented my purchase, lol.

I look fresh.

Woah woah woah.... This is not sound advice. I cranked up my sensitivity for the pro controller to +2 for motion. Gotta go fast.

This game makes me genuinely happy to play. Been so long since I played the first game. Where'd that mini game from the first game's matchmaking lobby go?

Popped my Splatoon cherry and did a few multiplayer games. Game is fun but I'm trash lol. I can't decide how I like to play better. I need to stick to a style.
I found that I started playing better after spending a bit of time in the singleplayer mode.

i need salmon run to be HARDER

I thought the exact same thing.

But all of a sudden the game got hard, there were a shit load of bosses on screen, (2 of those train/snake bosses, the fish thing that comes from the ground etc) and fog, and it wasn't long before all 4 of us died.

I'm quite impressed with how this game looks though on handheld at times, the fog in salmon run was very well done.

The single player is fucking fantastic. Every level has multiple lessons to teach you. Its both shorter then the first game and more meaningful and likely to take you longer to complete because the levels aren't just straightforward walks to the end.

And then they give you a fun little goal to go back in later and complete the levels with other weapons.

Boss battles were fine in the first game but got that extra little bit of oomph they needed to feel fresh.
