You never actually have to ink it.

Just remember, covering up enemy ink essentially counts for double the effect, not only are you covering an area with your color ink but you're removing their ink. Painting un-painted area is half as effective.

What if it's a level where the enemy can reach your spawn area? Imagine this, they break through and get sneaky and try to to ink up your spawn, but because you didn't ink spawn they're not actually covering up any of your ink, just inking it for the first time...then next time you spawn you get to cover it up easy and make some actual progress. if you'd inked it earlier, that's time you WOULDN'T have been in the middle fighting them, and it still would've been covered up by them anyway in this case.

Inking spawn is a low low priority.

If you don´t die someone on your team will gradually paint it as they die. If no one in your team dies you´ll surely be steamrolling the enemy so there´ll be no need to paint your base. Always go for the center, the team who controls the center wins the match. You may even be able to push the enemy towards their spawn and trap them there. Never waste time painting the base, every time you die just paint a bit as you make your way towards the center. If everyone does that you end up with the base painted and you can use more time painting where it actually matters. Also, having unpainted turf close to your base allows you to fill your special if the enemy has mounted a strong opposition and you need some extra punch to break through. if you have already painted your base, you don´t have this possibility for the rest of the match. You can effectively end up trapping your own team on your base.
 
Is it just me, or does it happen way too often that when you use the inkjet and hit someone they just survive and jump from directly inside the explosion splat afterwards? This happens to me constantly that it seems a direct hit, but apparently it's not at all.

i feel for ya dude i know how it feels.
Was in the same kind of situation a few years ago only could buy a couple of games a year wich was pretty hard, i did however get the games i really wanted that i missed later when things finally got better. Was a poor student.

Ink armor lets them survive a hit. Lots of ink armor up these days.
 
Hey guys,

I organized a lan-party at the office, there were 6 of us at the office and 1 remote. We got into a bunch of issues to get everyone playing together. So I have a bunch of questions.

1. When trying to join friends online, it seems that you cannot join if 4 of your friends are already playing together in a game. It doesn't put them on a wait list, just kills it. Is that a known limitation?

2. Playing on local wifi worked, but private online lobby did not (we had a friend remote that wanted to join the fun). Are there different router expectations for private lobbies than for regular online?

3. Is there a way to play all together online and still level up?
 
...and I just rage tossed my controller. lol. I kept getting killed by the same player with that stupid sloshing brush. They come at you and you can't do shit because you can't see shit.
 
So after my last match my exp just kept going up and up. I was changing from lv 20 to 21 and it just kept going. I was up to level 24 when i decided to close the software. Went back in and it didn't count it. Weird stuff
 
Man, the stupidity of some of these people. Had a guy on too of the big center pillar in Art academy with a roller flicking paint at people. Like, what the fuck is that?
 
Just hit Ketchup Champion and haven't played against a mayo team once. Is it that one-sided or is the matchmaking just not great? I somehow missed all of the splatfests in the first game so I don't know if this is normal or not.
 
No one up for a mayo team? Just need 1.

Was super normal on the beta splatfest. Everybody chose Marina and only 24% were with Pearl so if you chose Marina you pretty much never fought Pearl's side because there were barely anybody on her side.

It's unfortunately just the way it's going to be when one side is represented by a gremlin looking monster child.
 
K, I can't play anymore so I have to close the room. Too bad we couldn't get a group together and Nintendo should have made it possible to play with just 2 people.

Had way more Ketchup vs Ketchup then Ketchup vs Mayo. So i'm going to assume Ketchup will win the popularity part of Splatfest. Solo and Team who really knows?
 
Actually lost one to Team Mayo, it was super close though and my team was just horrible. I got 1238p and only died one time.
 
Maybe it's a coincidence but I finish first with 1200+ points with the aero and lose. With something like the nzap I finish with a little less points but win more. I guess the difference in range helps control the areas better, or my teams were just poor.
