My new favorite outfit, I call it "The German vacationer".

These joycon sticks are not made for shooters that's for sure. Thank God I have a pro pad, don't think I can play this in handheld mode.

So i created a room, got the notification on my phone, clicked it... now what? Where's the room? How do I invite anyone?

Edit apparently it only exists as long as you are in a room in game. I thought it'd be persistent. What shit

So I've had an observation on a relatively small group of people online fretting over the localization changes done with Marina that subdue her more demure kohai personality with that of a sassy rookie since the western audience is more used to the latter. What do you guys think of the change?

Can someone help me figure out the best way to approach online with multiple profiles? I have my own personal profile and Nintendo account all setup, but my kid wants to play the main multiplayer mode. He has his own profile on the system but he doesn't have a Nintendo account nor e-mail.

Is there an easy way to get him online with his profile without creating a Nintendo account? Can he somehow use my Nintendo account but his profile? Is there a notion of sub accounts like on other platforms? If so what are the potential issues down the road when he no longer needs to be a sub account? Is it just easier to tell him he can't play online on his profile and use mine?

Motion controls work great in handheld mode.

I play the game lying down which makes motion controls in this game pretty much a non-starter. Those sticks on the joycons are just way too small to be anywhere near precise enough, pro pad feels great though

I've got the game, but haven't actually had a chance to play it yet. However, I can't get Splatnet to load on my phone.

I open the app and click on the Splatoon 2 icon and it just gives me the Squidkid Centrak discussing the features of the app, but no way to get into Splatnet.

What am I doing wrong?

This isn’t likely to drop in price is it? Reticent to shell out as I’d really have liked split screen multiplayer, but the beta tests were fun, and I really liked the first game

Playing it in Handheld is pretty hard, Like I've been switching sensativity settings all morning its rough

Yeah I tried everything pretty much but it's pretty obvious the issue is with the sticks being so short. Going from joycon to pro pad is such a massive difference in precision.

Mine didn't do anything til I actually played the game.

You can't use Splatnet until you've played the game.

I can't remember how gear worked in Splat1. Is the clothing currently available to me at level 4 the only clothing in the game? Do I get more options as I level up? Does the inventory rotate? I feel like I remember the inventory for clothing rotating while additional weapons became available upon leveling up.

Gotten about 10 matches in so far and have had a blast. I'm not sure about the audio mixing in multiplayer though, I wish the music was a little louder, at least with the Splattershot Jr. I feel like everything drowns out the music more than I would have expected, which makes it harder to hum along

Such great fun to be had. I've been experimenting with every weapon so far, and besides the Testfire weapons, I've had good matches with the Blaster. It inks decently enough, but the OHKOs are amazing, and Splashdown is a great GTFO attack. Toxic Mist is a bit of a let-down, but I'm sure there's an alternate kit that gives it something more offensive.

As for the rest of the game, I've done the first level of Hero Mode, but have not touched Salmon Run yet. That's gonna change later, of course. Currently Lv. 6, and grinding all the clothing I have.

Just booted it up and got wrecked 4 matches in a row. I was okay at Splatoon 1, but people must have gotten way better since then. 4 spawn camp matches in a row never happened to me in the first game.

Is there ANY way I can force the game to let me play Salmon Run solo? No internet for the next few weeks except tethered to my phone (and even then worh spotty reception).

I should retry everything again (is there vastly different weapons from 1?)

I admit I jumped on roller as soon as I could, felt great to roll again, and I really like the special (although it's probably not as good in ranked as bazookas)

The campaign still has the problem of the first game where each level is dedicated to a mechanic and they bleed that mechanic dry before each level ends and you're just happy to be done with it.

Granted, there are a lot of new mechanics (The Sheldon requests mix things up a lot with different weapons), but there are too many levels leaving me going "Thank god I don't have to do that again." The first gatling gun level in particular was extremely annoying.

Edit: The single-player levels that take place in multiplayer maps are an awesome way to practice with weapons without playing real matches though.

Disappointed to hear that it's tough to play in handheld mode :-(
It's not though, but I admit that even if I used my switch 99.9% handheld till today, I prefer TV mode with pro pad. Larger screen helps, and gyro aiming feel easier to me on pro pad.

I wish I could use the Wii U pad, though (granted, it's not as ergonomic as pro pad, but I really prefer the map on a second screen... and for dual analog, the layout feels slightly better)

And I miss minigames...

Wait, there was a mini game during matchmaking in Splatoon 1?

A bunch of them. Squid Jump, Squid Beatz, Squid Race, and some other one Squid Ball (Squid Beatz was worth the $30 dollars I spent for the Amiibo 3 pack haha).

I got tired of playing minigames, but it was really nice having a sound test while waiting for matches. I'm already sick of the lobby song.
