So how does super jump work now? People always told me it was impossible without the horrible Wii u gamepad ;)

You press X to bring the map up on the screen and then press one of the dpad buttons to jump to the corresponding teammate.

I know you love bringing this up to stick it to the Nintendo fans or whatever but I do genuinely think it's worse than it was on Wii U, though obviously not a dealbreaker or anything.

I mean Turf Wars is fine... But Rainmaker... hot damn, thats the jam. Can win that mode through cunning all by yourself, thats the rush.

I have wasted hours doing the sound test mini game.

Some of those songs are straight bullshit on hard.
I had no idea this was a thing until I randomly discovered it while exploring the hub. It's a cool minigame, now I want to see more of them. It doesn't unlock anything though, right?

Oh boy, already running into people with six copies of the same ability across their gear. I figured I'd have a bit more time before people were able to start min-maxing but I guess not.

Are you sure its not the motion controls that are moving the camera?

It doesn't. You just have motion controls enabled, can't hold your hand steady and blame the game. You're probably one of those types who bends the controller in the direction they're turning is racing games without realizing it
No I don’t have motion controls turned on. They are turned off. No other shooter turns the camera when you move the left stick. It makes me fight the camera and I can’t line up a shot. Thanks for the insult there, UnemployedVillain, but I assure you that this is nothing new to the Splatoon series and there was even a Naughty Dog dev tweeting about the same issue at one point. Turn the motion controls off or on, it doesn’t matter. Walk to the left and the camera will gradually turn. It shouldn’t do this in a game where you need to evade and aim at the same time.

Even when you’re barely going left or right, like say your left stick is at 11:00, the camera is still turning.

On ranked modes, can you party up with one friend and go through matchmaking to complete the team, or do you need a full team from the start?

not having the map at all times is pretty jarring tbh

It really does change a lot. You can quick flip the map and its almost the same. But eh. You dont always have that automatic understanding of the map. A glance is faster and doesn't interfere with controls

Reached level 10 and then started using amiibos. I end up getting only the headpieces instead of the full gear set and Squid Beatz game. How exactly do I obtain the rest of the unlockables?

I play the game with motion controls and I don't have the slightest clue what your issue is, as that hasn't been my experience with the game at all. Given the overwhelming majority gamers who played the first game using motion controls with no issue, I'm willing to bet you're in the minority here. Your experience doesn't represent the user's experience as a whole. And what does the Naughty Dog dev have to do with any of this?

It gives you an emblem on the song if you managed to complete it with no mistakes (silver for no mistakes, gold for all perfects), but so far despite perfecting some songs, doesn't seem like it does anything unlock wise.

That’s great that you’re able to use the motion controls, they don’t work well for me at all though, and I’d like to control the game like a normal shooter where the left stick moves the character, and the right stick controls the camera. Unfortunately the left stick also moves the camera, like the controls were ripped right from Ocarina of Time where there wasn’t a second analog stick and this happened out of necessity. Congrats on being able to use the motion controls properly.

I can't take anymore turf war.... Lets do some Salmon Run, earn some meal tickets and then get an XP boost to power through

I mained the Carbon Roller in Splatoon 1...

...and I don't know how to use the Carbon Roller in Splatoon 2. Jumping Flick is too damn slow. I know you can flick and then jump, but it doesn't feel natural.

Yeah, you have to play the roller completely differently. It's weird as hell getting used to the jumping attack
