Who's ready for the new splatfests!?

Honestly I hate ketchup. I only like it on one thing.
Mayo has versatility, man. How else are you gonna make sandwiches?

But yep, still seeing good impressions of the game, though some are having bad connectivity issues which kinda bums me, y'know?

you have to press A after you select someone with the dpad on the map to superjump?

what the fuck why not just press the direction to jump..

did they set out to make this game worse than the first on purpose?

I've not seen that, but I'm playing online with randoms.

Maybe that's an option if you play privately either local or with friends.

That "hazard level" probably increases in the background when you play online with randoms depending on your rank.

The good thing is that the game definitely switches things up as you rank up, at higher ranks it is crazy, like a crap load of bosses all over the place, fog, and the water level rises so there's more enemies but less space to move.

The bad thing is you can end up with randoms who don't help out and you end up all dead, and losing rank. Where I go wrong is I want to try and win the points I lost, but end up losing even more. I need to learn when to stop lol. It's kinda like gambling to try and win back money you've just lost lol

I'm playing online with friends and randoms. I'll wanted to try with just friends but it doesn't let me start a game without a full room. Hopefully the game is a bit more lax on options in the future

I think I'll go mayo even though I prefer ketchup. I expect to get faster into games and win more snails in the end. I have the feeling team mayo will have better players.

I guess because you can also select with motion. Dunno.

Anyone having trouble with their Physical pre-order promised delivery on release date from Amazon US?

I'm a Prime member & I pre-ordered the game weeks ago..
I was promised guaranteed delivery on release date, & the game was shipped yesterday with Amazon Logistics, but for the past 30 hours the only tracking update I see is:
'Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier'

I contacted Amazon & they told me the carrier hasn't received the shipment yet & asked me to wait for at least 2 more days before they can refund me or send me a replacement -which they can't do since the game is temporarily out of stock >__< - .

Extremely worried here..
Sorry if this was discussed before in the thread.

lol what. That would be frustrating as fuck given how the paths of what you are selecting cross each other. You'd get a ton of wrong jumps.

Pic your target with the gyro. I was like you during the testfire, but this is actually better than in the first game.

I just use the gyro to aim where I want to go. Works for me. I'm usually doing this while respawning anyways. Does anyone actually jump-warp in the middle of a match?

The fact that you can't have vertical joystick look and motion controls is beyond ridiculous and not acceptable when Breath of the Wild already did it better. I don't want to lose out on having motion controls for slight aim adjustments like in Zelda but the control scheme they settled on is unusable for my needs, which would be fine if you could customize it... but apparently you can't. Very not happy with my day one purchase right now.

At least the dual analog controls work well, I'm getting used to it. Combined with the fact that the single player campaign isn't clearly labeled it just made a nasty negative first impression. $15 indie games would not get away with these mistakes. Right off the bat I'm getting that the designers don't respect my comfort and don't respect my time.

Maybe it's because I got used to the motion controls on Wii U but I literally never even think about that. They feel super natural to me and I mostly play in handheld mode.

what?

there are 3 people max you can jump to, press the corresponding button to jump.. not that difficult and don't see why it's necessary to use a second button input

in the first you just tapped the screen and jumped, now you have to bring up the map, select which player, then press another button to jump..

it's needlessly complicated

Need someone to test for me.

With the joycons in the grip, set your default hand position, then flick motion controls up and immediately back to the default position.

For me the default position is super fucked up after I do that.

Has it always been like this? My memory of Splatoon 1 didn't have this immediately stand out to me like it has when I booted Splatoon 2 up for the first time.

Phew... Just did like 3 hours non stop of Salmon Run, it was great !
This summer is going to be amazing.

Also did a few matches with some Neogaf members, was pretty great too.

so you can hit the home button and close the game during a match. that's fucked. hitting the home button is typically disabled during online stuff. it was in the Wii U version as well.

Are people playing this in handheld mode? I can not seem to get used to it. I think I have to break out the pro controller and play on my tv.

Use the gyro pointer if you have motion on. It's way better (I like it more than the touchscreen).

I started in handheld mode but ended on my tv with the pro controller. First time since launch I've used it on my TV. Looked glorious!

Pressing the D-pad and A literally takes less than 1 sec. It literally makes no difference if you know what you are doing.

Otherwise he is right, it's pretty confusing when I want to jump to the dude on the right so I press right on my D-pad but it's actually another one. Makes complete sense why there are 2 inputs.

While I agree, one push of the D-pad button prompt should start the jump, it's not that big of a deal. Try using the cursor and A button instead.

I totally forgot the switch got a touchscreen

But the game is a blast, single player is nice (only done the first mission though) online is even better as the first one and salmon run is awesome too

I even like the app (as a glorified splatnet)
