I am new to Splatoon, I used to avoid online shooters like a plague and yet this game online is GLORIOUS.

I sure still suck, relatively, but getting the quirks of each weapons right and using them to boss through the matches or turn the tide of the match feels really fun, even when people do tend, as it has been mentioned before, to treat turf war like a regular shooter and not care about the coverage as much - the matches can get very frustrating when they head blindly into the enemy's base and getting decimated really quickly.

Still, if the match is balanced enough they can be very exhilarating and just blast to play.
I'm still bit shy about Ranked - Tower control was a messy mayhem, Rainmaker much more fun - but I never thought that I will be interested in getting deeper into it. (Perhaps the level of competitive play will sour me a little, who knows)

As it stands I kinda left the single player for times I can't really sit down to multiplayer with 100% attention - it's lovely but it's more like a prep for online play. It feels a little like an afterthought however polished it is.

I got it with the switch because apparently that was the only way to secure the console and god what a great introduction.

Having said that, does software bought on eShop have digital instructions? There's few things that I wanted to find explanations on.

Is it possible to change your ingame nickname?



Worse still, I noticed people camping a lot which can get irritating.

I once had a enemy team camp our spawn point i just sneaked past em and painted nearly all of the map and their base. We won.

Our base was painted by em but rest was ours had alot of points after.

Love crazy moments like these.

im only just past the second boss and i have gotten 3 1.5x exp food tickets all found inside stages from either crates or from them just appearing after spraying the ground with ink

It is the best weapon for covering turf, but it's not easy to kill people with. You can be shut down by a good sniper easily. It has it's role, but having four Aerosprays would leave you at a disadvantage.

Also I finally figured out the orange power egg purpose in Salmon Run. It is definitely a score multiplier. 200 eggs = 1 point to your job score. So if you get 30 golden eggs, and 1000 orange eggs, your job score will be 35. Multiply that by the pay grade and that's the final score.

Yeah the amiibo usage in this game is annoying.

I just want it to be simple and let me unlock content but even after a few matches it wont give me more clothes. Dunno why they changed the simplicity of just doing missions in the 1st game.

Holy shit, 10!? I guess that's better than buying the right brand and rerolling a shit ton like in the first game though.

they changed it because people bitched and moaned about the challenges being attached to the amiibo so this was there solution.

If players challenge the Aerospray players directly then they aren't too bad. They cover a lot of territory fast though. It's just a matter of shutting them down when it counts.

It's amazing for XP though, I average at least 1200-1300 points a game with it. Not counting the win bonus. Giving that gun the curling bomb launcher is just too much lol

I seem to win more often than not when using it. I stopped because I got bored, and it seemed a little too good.

Players can out-range me but if I get close at all it's incredibly deadly.

My only complaint about Salmon Run is the random load-out. You get a shit tier weapon against certain bosses and you're almost useless.
 
Lmao pick ink brush so I can lead team to rain maker quickly. Spam"this way" at start and jet it to the center of the map. Get there before enemy team.... Where's my team? Oh... Playing turf war?
 
Rainmaker is so infuriating when half of the team doesn't even know where the rainmaker is and continues to push forward for some reason

Play in tablet mode without being plugged in. Once the battery runs low, plug it in and go to bed....at least that's what i'm doing (until I get home later this week).
 
Brought a Pro Controller since I managed to find a used one at Gamestop, and holy shit this thing is amazing for motion controls. I tried doing motion in handheld mode and it felt so annoying, but this feels much more natural and easy to get kills with.
