Friendship ended with Dualies

Now Inkbrush is my best friend

Dualies feel like they'd be great for Splat zones. The range they cover isn't worth the roll.

What's everyone's most used weapons?

I love the Splattershot, Inkbrush, and .52 Gal. I loved the Squelcher in the first game, so I'm looking forward to unlocking it soon. Is the Dual Squelcher in Splatoon 2?

NZap 85 for me. 2 parts nostalgia factor 1 part suction bombs and ink armor

Goddamn Nintendo, that's a sick burn yo.

The lore in the scroll pages is super deep as usual, but also really vague. It's pulling that Adventure Time shtick where you can tell that shit went down in the past, but Nintendo won't be spilling the beans for a long time, if ever.

Thankfully unlike Adventure Time most of what went down in the past isn't germaine to the story they're telling now. All that "matters" out of the lore is the history of conflict with the Octarians, their explanation of the Salmon Run,
and the current events about what happened to Callie.
The rest is just a fun bonus, so you don't get the blueballs that Adventure Time eventually gave its fans because the history of Judd or what really happened to mankind isn't important.

The one i liked is showing Marina at the joint DJ Octavio/Squid Sisters concert two years ago, where she's in the crowd with other Octolings.
Mostly because Nogami's a tease and won't confirm that she's an Octoling.

Hey guys, I'm taking a trip to Japan in September. Should I save the single player for the plane ride?

As someone who never played Splatoon 1 and usually skips over singleplayer campaigns in MP shooters, I've had a lot of fun with it. It has a lot of unique 3D platforming stuff surrounding pretty good third person shooter mechanics and, so far 2 worlds in (which I think is around 10 levels+2 bosses?), an excuse plot. Also 2 sometimes-hard-to-find collectibles per level. The bosses I've encountered are interesting designs with fun mechanics and the usual 3-phase Nintendo-Boss life system.

It makes for a good binge session and doesn't get too repetitive or frustrating

Not that it isn't completely obvious given her hair and her emblem on Off The Hook, and the only other creatures in attendance were other Octolings.

That'd be a good idea. It's like 4 or 5 hours if you want to find everything, and considerably longer if you want to unlock the Hero weapons.

yeah I'm flying in September too and I'm saving the single player for the flight

Goooooooood to know. I think between Splatoon, Mario + Rabbids, and Sonic Mania I'm going to be SET.

Wow. Now that I'm Profreshional, I got all Salmon Run awards in an hour. That sure is a time saver. Currently at 205% pay grade.

People are finally paying attention to the Steelheads

That Shirt & Tie combo in SplatNet seems good for Splattershot Pro and Jet Squelcher. Ink Resistance + Ink Saver Main brand. Has anyone played around with a triple Ink Resistance build yet? Do you just glide through enemy ink? Feels like maybe one main is enough but maybe it stacks nice.

Tri-Slosher, Slosher, .52 Gal so far. I really want to put some time into the new Jet Squelcher, but am finding it really finicky and precise with its aiming. I miss having the follow-up Burst Bomb.

The longer-ranged weapons so far (even the Pro and the .96) feel like no-frills, how-good-is-your-aim tests. Should be interested to see if they start giving them more traditional bombs later.

Got over 1200p in Salmon Run today and made it to Profreshional, such an amazing mode. The rewards are great as well, you can earn quite a lot of cash from it. Best part is that my teammates at this higher level are really great and helpful.

Lent my copy of the game to a coworker who's not sure about buying the game to his kids because of the lack of splitscreen. I won't be able to play tonight...

(Heh I'll play some Arms ranked mode)

played my first few games of Salmon Run...I like it

got the Shirt reward and I'm gonna play a bit later on to get up to the Daily Superbonus at least

They do go into pretty explicit detail on what happened to humanity and Judd's history in some manga in the art book.

Short details for the cheap, first humanity's history:
Humanity had many civil wars and five great world wars. During the last war someone from somewhere launched a nuclear warhead into the south pole which, as a finishing blow to the existing global warming problem, submerged most of the landmasses on the planet and decimated the human population.

On Judd's history:
He was owned by a weapons dealer and has always been able to tell when shown the territories owned by two parties on a map who was winning.
In the case shown he was having a difficult time telling who was winning, and his owner was using it as an opportunity to sell a general a new weapon, who does buy it. (Which seems like the weapon mentioned above.)

I have only won a single ranked game out of 10. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a guide to git gud?

Can't believe a single player being bad can have such huge influence on the result, at least I'm trying to help.

At what point do you cover your own base if not at the beginning? I saw so many lost matches in the Splatoon 1 and few in 2 that were lost because no one covered their own base with ink.

This. You also build your ult for your first skirmish hopefully securing the objective for an early advantage. If you're not covering your base early, then it becomes more difficult to do it later.

Yeh but during this time, the enemy has advanced to the middle and claimed it, which makes the whole match harder to win.

Middle first, spawn and inbetween later.

So this is odd...all of a sudden, during the lobby the game's lighting seemed to wildly glitch out, leading to this disco fever craziness

Exploring the hub thereafter also had a bunch of weird visual glitches

Not sure if the cartridge somehow got shifted slightly, can't imagine what else could've caused it...certainly hope it's not my Switch D:

I have seen this as well and I have the digital version of the game. So I doubt it's moving the cart that does it. I, too, hope that it is not my Switch that is dying.

ranked is just hard. i was S-rank in Splatoon 1 but even im having a hard time getting back into A-rank.

dunno if it's of any interest to you but same thing happened to me & i grabbed the scorecards at the end

didn't stop them from winning so congrats to them

Huh, I remember this happening during the testfire back in March. Occasionally a game would start with 7 people and one would just be a placeholder with question marks

What's the general consensus? If I hate motion controls 5 minutes in does turning them off put me at a disadvantage later on?

Does sticking with it pay off later? Or is it 100% just a preference thing?

I don't use motion and I think it's a preference thing. I'm playing with -3.5 sensitivity on a Pro Controller and -4.0 sensitivity in handheld and I'm finding it pretty comfortable!

You can do just fine without motion. But if you can overcome the learning curve, you'll probably do better with motion.

GAF hear me out

How did I ignore this for playing exclusively Turf War since launch, this shit is GOOOD and fuck my life if it isn't fucking intense, DAMN.

Turf War is legit the worst mode in the game hands down to me lol Everything else is miiiiiles better including Salmon Run.

I only play Turf War to try out new guns or practice the charger + level up new gear.

I know a lot of people limit themselves to turf war but I def recommend everyone branch out and try everything.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just make it a regular 12pm-12am Salmon Run schedule. That would work for way more people than these random ass times they're using.
