I don't understand why you wouldn't just make it a regular 12pm-12am Salmon Run schedule. That would work for way more people than these random ass times they're using.
Yeah. I'll barely be able to play any today because of it.

Should just be a 24hr period starting at 12:00AM

Agree 100%.

I love Salmon Run. I want to play it, but this week is code lock for the project I'm on at work. I'll be lucky to get home by 9PM CST.

Just make it a full 24 hours Nintendo. Come on.

About to hit level 10,

Really appreciate the greater focus on movement and range when attacking / turf war in Splatoon 2. Feels like the change in maps has really brought out the best in mechanics

Will play splat jnr to level 10. Anybody feel like humouring me and updating me with how the other guns compare to splat jnr in range, play style and skill level?

Splattershot is better in probably every way.

My only guess is they had no idea how popular it would be but even then just make it available on a consistent schedule. Geeze.

I think I'm ready to make this bold claim.

I liked the maps in the first Splatoon more than this game. Like, a lot more.

My two favorite Splatoon 2 maps are....the two returning maps from the previous entry. I hope we get more classic maps soon. I need Saltspray Rig and Kelp Dome back in my life. I also hope future new maps are a lot more interesting than what we have now.

When you have a good round with the slosher, it feels so good! In those games it's my favorite weapon.

When things don't go your way though, it can feel so inept.

holy shite, I wanted to play while lying on my bed so I decided to turn off the motion controls. sweet lord was that a bad idea. 🙃

maybe it's easier with the larger analog sticks of the pro controller but aiming with the joy con sticks is virtually impossible. for me at least...

I would love if someone has a video (of themselves holding a controller, not gameplay) out there showing how they play Splatoon 2 effectively with motion controls (pro controller) so I can see what I'm doing wrong. Anyone know of one?

You can tell when you're playing with a team of total idiots when you lose the first wave of Salmon Run.

You could just tell.

The Jr. was one of my better weapons in 1 but that was because the Bubbler was so good for aggressive flanking play. Ink Armor is way too slow on start up for flanking and it doesn't ink efficiently enough to justify it.

If you wanted Ink Armor to be your preferred special, go with the N-Zap. You have better walk speed when firing, faster rate of fire, the spread isn't as wide, paints faster, shots have slightly longer range, suction bomb is better for scaring away pursuers / baiting sharking players, and has slightly more damage.

The Bubbler was the only thing that made the Jr. worth using and now it's gone so it's pure trash now. Use N-Zap, Splattershot, or Duelies if you like to play aggressive instead.

Srb2Dude made a follow up video on Motion Controls.

I don't play with those sharp movements but he mentions something that I never considered that might explain why people may be having trouble with motion:
Are you guys using motion for all your camera work & aiming without touching the right stick at all?

Damn, I've been on a losing string today while using my best weapons and gear.
Enough splatting for today, I need to control my sodium level.

I think I'm with you, nothing really stands out about the new maps that makes them memorable, except maybe the skatepark. They don't really have anything unique about them, and they mostly seem focused on a raised section in the centre.

Yay I beat single player so I can lift the spoiler goggles off and read Splatoon content.

Having lots of fun, wish it launched with more stages though.

I feel like the famous landmarks inked goal in SplatNet 2 is an endless carrot on a stick. I love it as a goofy stat, but it says "You may be rewarded!" so I keep expecting to get something. 293,000 and no gifts yet lol. Maybe the next milestone...

ugh,... and people told me it's fun even if you lose. Uh, no.

I'm away from my Switch trying to plan a Salmon Run session with a co-worker, can anyone tell me if it's up Thursday, and, if so, the times in EDT? We're both off then.

I've found that Pro Controller with motion controls off works pretty well. You have to turn sensitivity up though, at least I did. Once I did that it felt pretty good.

I'm gonna have to use PTO just to play this...lol

I'm getting a communication error every second game. It's helping my single player progression but it's really annoying. I never this many dc with the original.

I noticed that the game is veeerrryyyy finicky about wifi connections. When I'm in my room I get disconnections every few games but if I play in the room next door, which is right above my router, or anywhere downstairs I have absolutely zero problems. I don't have any connection issues with other games though, just seems to be Splatoon 2.

Gotta turn the sensitivity WAY down in that case. I play at -4.0 with the joy con sticks.

Anyone know when the game is getting new maps? My main gripe with the game atm is that most of the maps feel really samey outside of Moray Towers, Pumptrack, and Port Mackerel (two of which are old maps!)

Man, the amount of times I screamed "get on the fucking tower, you idiots!" in Ranked right now...

I mean, we won most matches, some of them KO (and one with 99 points, lol).

But in one game, I killed the last remaining enemy while he killed me and in death I saw the tower going back because no one was on it. That was just a bit maddening.

can you sell or toss old gear?
You can scrub maxed out gear clean from merch for like 20k. Otherwise, you can't toss an old equip unless you are replacing it with a duplicate(which may have a different main ability). You can't sell equipment either.

mostly played regular matches with regular controls, teaching myself how to play with motion controls but it hasnt quite clicked yet.

This game is awesome, nintendo is really building a great library on the switch

Not sure if this should go here or the switch thread. But I am here playing splatoon MP at the airport (100mbs free wifi) and it is glorious!!

Sooo good.

ugh,... and people told me it's fun even if you lose. Uh, no.

It *can* be fun when you lose, but only if you lost in an interesting way. A straight curb-stomp just makes you feel bad about yourself and/or your teammates. The dejection of the losing music doesn't help, tbh.

Just slogged my way through the singleplayer campaign to world 5 so that I could grab extra tickets. I did not enjoy much of that and definitely don't plan on finishing it. I can still hear that atrocious music in my head...

Tried doing a search to determine the answer to this with no luck.

My wife has been playing on my Switch and is loving it enough she might go get a Switch and a copy of her own so we can play together.

Now question is since she linked her Nintendo Account to this log in, if she transfers her account to the new Switch and plays, will she still have her progress, or will she need to start fresh?

My guess is the latter of course, but I'm hoping since this is tied to the online service there might be more hope.

Update to this. We purchased a new Switch and moved her Nintendo Account over. As expected, NOTHING is transferred. Even the stats in her phone app were overwritten by the new save.

gotta tell you pal, you didn't too good either... I consistently get 1000p+ even if my team loses, also, you had one disconnect, of course you were going to lose.

I have lost 3 times by 0.01% with 2 players barely above 500p, THAT fucking sucks.

Loving the game.

Just a few minor issues --

First, the fact that you can't choose your weapons in Salmon Run is whack as fuck. Also, please Nintendo, let me choose my gear as well. Dictate specials if you want, but not weapons. Leave weapon variety up to players as a strategic choice.

Secondly, I really wish Salmon Run levels weren't so tiny. It's really fun but wider spaces would improve strategic options and gameplay longevity. Also, what the fuck is up with the progression system? You can lose levels huh 🤔 Bizarre deal.

I guess that's really it, otherwise I really like the game so far.
