While you're correct in saying Splatoon requires some more spacial acuity and the like... it's really not much more than games like Quake/Titanfall/LawBreakers/Overwatch. Most modern FPSs utilized advance movement where the playspace has been greatly expanded. The interaction of ink to movement is unique but not any more demanding than managing the often complex suite of skills/weapons/perks that these shooters utilize. I'd argue that having a good team in a game like Overwatch is MUCH more of a requirement than Splatoon. That's not to say one is better than the other just a simple statement (imo).

There's A LOT of content! These stages are long (for a "portable game") and you can go through them each time with 5+ different weapons? Damn! Does it unlock or give you anything cool for 100%? I'll probably do it anyway when I am away from internet.
 
BTW: If I join friends in online turf wars does it usually tream me up with my friends? So if 3 friends join their friend can we 4v4 other people together? It's quite annoying that we can't form a team and take on other people/teams

It's random. You might get lucky and get all of you on the same team here and there.

I know with less than four people it puts you all on random teams, assuming 4v4 is the same thing unfortunately. Only way to really party up and matchmake and stay on a team is those Squad Battles after you all reach B- in a ranked playlist.

It's completely random whether or not they'll be on you're team. I'd actually say more often then not it forces you to split up. Probably to make it more fair to the randoms on the other team.

I've never seen an online multiplayer game so afraid to let people play with their friends.

Yeah I suppose it depends on the players and the situation. If the enemy team is mostly cleared out then yeah everyone should probably hop on for a bit. Me personally, I like to move a head and intercept the enemy or try to hit them from behind but I guess if your whole team tries that then you accomplish nothing.

Same thing in Ranked battles ? Weeeiiirrrdddd I thought there was an option to team up with friends in the original Splatoon. But I might be wrong

Not for ranked, no. If everyone hits B- on solo ranked, you unlock league play and can make a team of 4 to play against other teams of 4. It's still a pain in the ass if you just want to play online with friends, but it's better than Turf War and getting half of your friends on the other team.
 
Got home about 5:30 yesterday and rushed through a few Turf War matches so I could get up to Level 4 and play Salmon run.

Salmon Run is a good time but someone dropping out was far too frequent an occurrence. We were steamrolled on our last run because we were a player short.

And fuck I hate getting saddled with the charger.

lol yeah, so weird. I understand why they did time slots, it would splinter up the user base too much between Ranked, League, and Turf Wars... they thought it would get hard to get matched up.

But that seems foolish to think given how well this game has sold.
 
Huh so you can't borrow a friend's Amiibo to unlock gear? That's a shame. My friend was hoping he could unlock some of the Amiibo exclusive gear from mine but it doesn't seem to work.

1) If they have Ink Armor, their Ink Armor will absorb the roll and bounce you off before wearing off. Ink Armor is a new special in Splatoon 2. You can tell when an inkling has Ink Armor by their glowing eyes and the smoky ink they're covered in.
2) Are you sure you're using the splat roller? Carbon roller can roll but it doesn't do 100 damage while rolling.
3) Latency issues between you and the target may cause the game to not register certain attacks correctly :( this is something that happens sometimes in Splatoon 1 as well, and will hopefully be very rare.

Ink resistance is in the game but does not give you the ability to take roller rolls without dying lol.

Aerospray MG has the Curling Bomb Launcher, which lets the user throw Curling Bombs for free for a limited amount of time.
 
Got stuck with a real donkey earlier in the evening. Rainmaker, we're winning, seconds left, other team is near to overtaking us but gets splatted right before passing our mark. Usual chaos ensues, multiple inklings splatted, one team mate left. In their infinite wisdom, picks up Rainmaker and heads backward towards our spawn point with Rainmaker. We're all splatted and waiting to respawn, it's in overtime, all the one remaining inkling has to do is burst the Rainmaker barrier and pick up the Rainmaker. Done. We lose.

Honestly why would you go backwards with the damn thing you donkey....
 
Next salmon run looks to be all shooters, and also looks to be at the most bumfuck time slot they could think of

Made it to B- in Splat Zones and Rainmaker. Only played a handful of games so not bad for picking up Splatoon for the first time.

Only a C in tower control because this guy here didn't know you had to actually stay on the tower lmao. I thought you got control and then defended it as it moved.
 
Just went on a massive losing streak but still managed to squeak into B rank just before the meter cracked. R.I.P my 1.5x money ticket though.
 
Splatzone is infuriating when your teammates decide to fuck around when we need to fucking control the point.

Control the point first then flank.

Yeah, it was up last weekend and yesterday. It's just up at ridiculous times so it's impossible to play a lot if you live in the US and have a job or go to school.

You Splatoon 2 players should be lucky you didn't have to go through the pain of Splatoon 1's ranked mode system. The bar and being able to lose multiple times is a GODSEND compared to how it was when ranked first launched
