When you have a fantastic game and loose because of an AFK :-(.

Your views on the final boss is the common sentiment I've seen here. Which is weird, because I thought 2's was a lot better. Felt like an actual boss instead of a stage.

I think the "stage" aspect is what many people liked about Splatoon 1's final boss. It felt for lack of a better word "Fresh" in how atypical it was from traditional boss battles. It was also much harder.

Splatoon 2s boss to me felt like a step back, not just from Splatoon's boss but also the previous boss fight vs the
Octoshower
which was more difficult.

Splatoon 1's final boss tested the player on almost everything the game had shown you mechanically up to that point. Splatoon 2 didn't. There were no boost pads, bounce pads, invisible platforms, moving platforms ect. This is why the final phase is the best, since it starts to impliment that.

Just discovered the Murch guy.... so that's how I get the cool outfits.

How does the music minigame even activate? I keep pressing buttons and nothing happens.

What weapon are you using? Ink Armor absorbs up to 30 HP of damage before breaking, so if you don't deal enough damage it will take you more than one hit to get rid of it.

I was Dapple Dualies. I broke their shield with a number of shots, I heard the crack. No smoke was surrounding them during the firefight, so I kept up the barrage but then heard another crack. Continued the barrage and we finally traded. :l

Maybe there was smoke and I just didn't see it in the midst of the fight? What I know for fact is that I had no Armor on, nobody else was around, and I definitely heard the crack twice.

Scroll through songs with stick, hit - (Minus) to select Normal/Hard, hit + (Plus) to play the level.

I thought the + was the D-Pad, it took me way too long to figure it out.

Yea, there was so much potential with all those new stage mechanics added. Plus instead of just a circular grind rail, the last part could have been a full section where you are chasing him on the rails, and maybe even the squid sisters are also on rails while singing.

How is everybody handling gear management? I can never seem to get a hang of it.

Right now I've got several 4-slot pieces of equipment I scrub every time they fill up so I can collect ability shards, but it's really slow going on that (I'm level 13, got the 4-slots through the app and salmon run). But I don't want to be way behind people with cuatomiazed stuff when I hit higher levels.

Wow, Aerospray, you go, you top of the board player, you. Thanks for losing us all the control we had by causing an endless 3v4, you da best

also a sniper should never ink more than you

Edit: to clarify, enemy sniper beat out our Aero's score

So the game just did that. It's not like the guy disconnected during the game, there were only 3 of us from the start.

I'm a tad bit angry...

I'm just buying as much stuff as I can and leveling it up, not scrubbing anything yet. No point in trying to get perfect abilities on my equipment until after the Splatfest when things should be a bit easier.

earlier I also saw "Left my kids at Best Buy :)"

also "If I let you down please be nice to me, I'm only 26"

lol

Lmao the messages are great.

The default mode is just a sound test, push the button to change difficulty.

Lol thanks!!! I had no idea what was happening.

FashionToon is all about making yourself look cool!

So questions regarding gear abilities:

1.) In the in-game store, will a piece of gear always have the same primary ability every time it appears? How about in the Splatnet store?

2.) When I scrub or re-roll the abilities on a piece of gear, will this change the primary ability, or is it locked?

main ability doesnt change when scrubbed, the gear in the shop wont have different mains but the splatnet stuff will

To anybody who's scared to hop onto rank. Chances are (now) you're matching up with a bunch of new players too.

Just dive in. I never played Splatoon before 2 and I had no idea what to do on those games. Now I'm B rank in almost all the modes.

Just don't bring Aerospray into Ranked lol. Sloshers and brushes are very helpful. If you need to bring a gun, make sure it has decent range.

Aerospray load out is really good in Rainmaker.

as a new player you have a pretty high chance to do better with a spray than a brush, aerospray is even used in a good few top rainmaker teams

I had an Aero that did 350 in a game. I also had a better score than all the Aeros on my team and I was using a Gal.

when i play that weapon in turf war i literally average 1k across 50 games lol

i dont know where all the everyone using the weapon is bad stuff is coming from

its noob bait yeah but in actual capable hands in turf war and rainmaker the weapon is disgusting and is used in some top rainmaker comps in fact

im a .96 main through and through but its hard to resist such a strong weapon spread in a shooter when playing turf war or rainmaker, unless i just feel like using my main in regs and murdering people for fun

Guys, when talking turf wars, is there even a point in picking anything else than Arerospray? From what I've seen so far, players with this weapon always come on top of the team. Sometimes I knew if I'm going to win just noticing that my team had 3 Aerosprays and the other team had none.

Is it different in higher levels?

It's more that the people using that weapon don't understand their role and are probably constantly trying to engage in fights and dying.

It's the easiest to use and the special is fun. But you can go with whatever you want. However, turf wars has a preference for rapid fire weapons. If you want to use something like a charger, you're going to need a good supporting team to get you great positioning.

variety is the best for a few reasons, weapons outrange it and kill potential is important, but its 100% worth having 1 or 2 especially if the players arent bad
but since most of the turf war players are still new at the game or learning the ropes just having multiple of them is enough for a blow out because the average player doesnt know how to deal with it

i can actually say the same thing about really good camping brush players who just lock down a section of the map by literally sitting in a single spot all game, people dont really know how to deal with them either really

1. Yes, gear from in-game stores will always have the same main ability. Gear from Anniezon will potentially come with a different main ability though. For example, the Takaroka Mesh hat normally has Sub Defense Up for the main ability, but last night Anniezon was selling a Takaroka Mesh with Tenacity instead.

2. Main abilities cannot be removed, so no, scrubbing or re-rolling abilities will not change main abilities.

It's the same. I almost always top the team with the Aerospray.

Ideal makeup is something like this, for Turf Wars:

- 2x Aerospray
- 1x .52 or .96 Gal
- 1x Splat Charger (can swap for something else on certain maps, like The Reef)

i mean, it would be the same comp as a rainmaker team

you can literally have 4 tri sloshers as the best comp in the game because it kinda is right now

I love Splatoon 2, but yesterday I couldn't believe my luck! I'm pretty good, but it seemed at times I just couldn't win a game.

And then one time, my team lost to a team of three! How does that happen???

People are learning that the large area of the maps that are essentially "safe" from the opposite team are perfect spots for Chargers to set up. I really don't like the number of walls that you can't climb in some stages (Like The Reef).

I haven't leveled up enough to try the tri-slosher yet.

I've noticed there is definitely some kind of skill matching going on the background (outside of Ranked, of course) because I'm routinely the only level 10 player in a game full of 25-35s.

I haven't scrubbed anything yet... Most of my money is currently going toward buying all the gear and weapons.

My current plan is to prioritize 5 different abilities and get different gear/brand combinations that sync together. Looking at Ink Saver Main, Ink Saver Sub, Ink Recovery, Swim Speed, and Run Speed. I'm going to start with Ink Saver Sub and Swim Speed, as I find those two abilities good for Slosher. So I'm keeping an eye out for Firefin and Krak-On gear that have good main abilities.

Once I get Snails, probably going to start unlocking slots on a bunch of good main/brand combos I like, and then start scrubbing. Thinking about scrubbing 3 Krak-On pieces of gear first, drinking a Swim Speed drink, and hoping for good RNG as it levels up. Then will probably spend ability chunks as I go to finish off stuff where one slot got messed up.

im not sure how mmr works in turf war actually, i dont get matched with any low level players anymore outside of the odd level 1 or something and ive won my last 20 games straight or around there today, i guess i havent seen too much of a difference
