Kraken wasn't dumb, it was really good

Easy to counter, easy to run away from, easy to do good with depending on the situation. There was also the element of not knowing if the enemy you're shooting at was going to turn into a Kraken out of no where and get your ass. Made for some tense moments. Kraken on the tower in TC in the last seconds could mean the difference between a win or a loss

Just a strange omission.

Tenta Missiles is a pretty good progression of Echo-locator now that you broke it down, but ink-armor doesn't cut it to fill in that Kraken niche
Ink armor is pretty good, you get some invulnerabiliy without recoil like Bubbler and Kraken used to have. This means the enemy has to completely overpower you or run. And it deactivates chargers as you can survive a fully charged shot. Last night I had a game where the other team were being completely overpowered, activates ink armor 2 times in succession and they managed to turn around the match. All I could do was run away, shooting someone only revealed my position and made them come after me. I was totally useless for the duration of the supers, while I had been controlling all the match from the center up until that point. Once the special ended we had to retake the center which was a very difficulty task. I'll never look down on ink armor again.

The ink missiles remains me of the ink bomb for the first game. It clears the area and had the added of marking a person. It just doesn't ink as much.

Here's a helpful hint. To get the most out of the missiles, go back to the spawn point. You usually get a lot on everyone and can take your time without worrying about dying.

Does it drive anyone else crazy that the storefronts are not in the same order as they are when you're pressing the L/R buttons to change between them?

Because it's bugging me more than it honestly should. :lol

Hey guys. Long time gaf lurker and this is my first post. It's taken online Splatoon 2 to get me to make my first post.

Online in this game is currently so broken that I have not enough words to describe my irritation. This being a 4v4 game, losing one team member spells doom. Losing two - well. Let me just get out the vaseline and bend over.

This morning, I've had four consecutive matches (and I've quit after each one to the lobby for a new set of peopel) with dropouts. Two with one dropout and two with two.

NINTENDO - FIX THIS.

They need to come up with some solutions and fast. Drop the match with no penalties for anyone. If two drop - flip one to the other side mid game to even the numbers. Half the level of ablities for the non nerfed team.

I'm all for being crap and losing. That makes my skill level improve. But when I'm dealing with this bullcrap so often - this just makes me want to back away from the game.

Taught a few of the pitiful wrong condiment squids a lesson. My life is complete.

#TeamKetchup

Is it me or is it hard to play with friends in this? We were 3 people and it seems game would only start if we have a fourth?

How the HELL am I supposed to get out of C- rainmaker when my team is people who have just woken from 10 year comas and are suffering from brain damage? Two in a row my "team" backed the rainmaker back to OUR base and then got killed. NICE ONE GUYS.

Maybe I'll never play ranked again. Salmon Run is just SO much less stressful and accordingly so much more fun. I'll just play it forever.
People in C ranks are just not very good but we all made it through. Be prepared to carry the team, that means better pack an all purpose weapon and be prepared to not get any back up, ppl super jumping on your dead corpse into enemy ink etc.
What helped me is not going for a KO (that takes team effort or super bad opponents) but just going for points and play defensively.

If I just paint the floor the entire round, am I worthless?

Had =dental surgery (hope Im spelling this right) and trhe only things I can play is this and the Tetris

Is this shit stealth geo-blocked or something?
Are you not in Japan? It does seem to match based on ping so could be a problem if there's no one playing JP near you...

It is taking longer than usual to find a game though. Probably not as many ketchup JP fans. First game I was matched against another mayo team.

Yeah I'm outside Japan but that was never an issue in Splatoon, not even for Rice vs Bread.

"hmmm it's early, maybe I can get in a couple of Salmon Runs before I get started on these responsibilities"

*5 hours later*

"MOTHERFUCK how's it almost midnight already?!?!?"

Got to A+ splatzones with finally trying out squelcher dualies and they worked out good. I wish they had a bomb or something else as the sub, and a different special. Rain is good for splatzones though.

So what is with these Furrie post, was there some joke or reason they are popping up now?

OMG yes. It bugs the shit out of me.

Is it matching you with mayo teammates at all, or does it just keep searching with you as the only person in the lobby?

For me it seems to find mayo teammates almost instantly but then takes a little while to find ketchup enemies.

It's taking pretty long to get me mayo mates. Even when I get a full team, it times out before finding a single ketchup squid.

Yeah... I hope they patch that ASAP.

I'm not complaining but how did I went from C- to B- after some matches of rainmaker?

It was my first time playing Rainmaker in Splatoon 2 and had to literally go and take the rainmaker to the enemy base by myself several times.

When I played earlier during lunch break, me and my other 2 team ketchup friends were able to find match against team mayo pretty quickly, while my one team mayo friend was waiting for a game to even start. She got mayo mates pretty quickly, but the wait after that was comparatively longer, the two matches she had was also against another team of mayo squids.

I love when the splatnet store has two of the same clothing item and they BOTH have garbage main abilities.

Object shredder and respawn punisher are literally garbage stop wearing them.

Respawn punisher is actually pretty good if you're decent at splatting. The US version incorrectly translated what it really does.

It's currently "increases respawn time and special gauge spawn penalty for you and anyone who splats you"

When it should be "increases respawn time and special gauge spawn penalty for you and anyone you splat"

If thats the case thats a gigantic translation error. Is this based off EU/JP version text?

Oh weird, I've always read it as the correct way. DIdn't even notice it was wrong.

It keeps me matching me up with the same couple of mayo squids, then it times out. The Splatfest started over 1.5 hours ago and I've only played ONE game.

didnt even notice the construction began a bit ago in the square for NA

The first Splatfest in the original game was so cool because the teaser was vague as hell and no one knew anything about it until the actual day.

The day before, these big trucks showed up in the plaza and folks were wondering what the hell those were for. That first Splatfest was goddamn magical.

So, am I doing it wrong?

I'm really asking. My average points in turf war is about 700, with 7-8 kills per game, but I can't seem to get it higher, so should I be following my team to fight to control the centre at the start?

I don't think there is a right way or a wrong way, people have different styles. Different maps and weapons are factors as well.

I like to ink around the spawn until my special is ready, then I swim to contested territory to trigger it. I have gear that makes my special charge faster, so I am not far behind those that rush to the middle - and when I arrive I can make an impact.

There is no real 'wrong'. Getting a lot of kills help the team too since the less people inking, the more ground you can cover and it keeps your teammates from being killed.

For example, I am using a weapons with somewhat low ink coverage, but it has long range so I can pressure and kill people from a distance. I even put a Respawn Punisher since I tend not to die a lot, while also getting 4-6 kills in a game, making each of my kills hurt the enemy more.
