Is there a trick to joining a friend for Salmon Run? I made a public room and told him to join but he couldn't join even though I had 3 spots empty. Also, does it start searching as soon as you make a room? What's with the ZL option?

Unless your friend went to the Shoal or tried to join friends from the Turf War lobby, idk what to tell you. ZL is to fill any remaining slots with randoms (if you hit that before he tried to join, that could also be your issue).

EDIT: A post on the previous page made me realize this could be NAT related. Can you both do a connection test in system settings and report back with what NAT type you have?

I like Pearl! I think she's neat and has an adorable way of rapping.

But my little Inkling Boy but I control in the game has a huge crush on Marina. So Marina will always take the ice cream cake for me!

But my Inkling Boy also knows when he has to take a stand on the things that are right and not be blinded by idols. No matter how cute they are.

I really hope they add more maps soon. So many of the Splatoon 2 maps feel so samey.

I miss Arowana Mall, Blackbelly Skatepark, Saltspray Rig, Walleye Warehouse, Kelp Dome...

There was so much variety in maps that felt unique in Splatoon 1, where most of Splatoon 2's maps are just blocky walls and boxes in different layouts.

Agreed. The new maps are missing the types of distinctive features that made the first game's so memorable.

Last weapon in the shop req level 30 I believe. New weapons are added to the shop frequently it seems.

I will admit I was one of them people who instinctively started inking turf instead of going for the objective.

Personally, I feel locking objective modes behind ranked and league is partly to blame, when most of the time you spent playing online is turf war, painting ground becomes the instinctive objective to us noobs.

However, as I had the great experience of getting shot to death and reported by a friendly for staying back to defend the base in Halo Capture-the-flag, I have to say even when all the modes are available, some people are still going to ignore it because... reasons. Though, I would say not having the other modes available for casual play certainly didn't help.

I understand, I do. I just needed a couple guys to splat by their spawn and ink me a path and we would have won. No one else even hit double digits for splats.

It'll get better as the game ages.

WOW. I just had the strangest thing happen to me in salmon run.

It was like I was playing a completely different match than my teammates. The tide was low for me but not for my teammates. I had to put the eggs in the shoreline basket, while they put eggs in the upper level basket (which didn't appear for me, but I could see them putting it in there.)

Also, none of my teammates could join me on the low tide section. I called everyone to come over there because enemies were spawning there and someone jumped the ledge with me but died upon hitting the ground, like they fell in water. No one could join me, they all stopped at the edge where the water would normally rise to.

I wonder what that looked like to them. Was I just running around in water to them? lol.

Has anyone else encountered this?

She's grown on me a little but I still like Marina better. They don't hold a candle to the Squid Sisters though.

If there are as many new players as it seems a potential Squid Sisters vs Off the Hook Splatfest would be brutal. It would be Callie vs Marie all over again.
