Every time I get a good team I get really happy. And then the game ends and I'm furious at Nintendo's moronic decision to remove rematching with the same partners.

I added six friends over Wii U thanks to that feature. We still play together. Used to talk to each other through Miiverse every Fest. Not anymore! Thanks for uh... cutting off community features.

Genuinely surprised by how many Team Mayo teams I'm fighting against. I only ran into Team Cake 3 times during the first splatfest but there was a lot more on Team Mayo's side this time around.
 
So there's no way to play with friends unless you can fill up a team? Really? You can't just have random people fill in the rest of the slots? And you can't even join on friends during it?

Don't even know why I'm surprised at this point. I mean, this is Nintendo. The company that's locking their online component behind a smartphone app. The inventors of friend codes.

Damn, I'm just so salty.

It's made even dumber because they have the problem perfectly solved in Salmon Run.
 
Great, had a connection error and now I'm paired with the worst people. Had a game with a charger on my team who didn't get a single kill and was too scared to leave base

I can't play with my friend on this game at all. Every time I go to my friends list, it says that he's online, but whenever I click on his name, it says "You can't join that friend". I've been able to join with other friends before and play just fine. What gives? We can create a private room and connect to each other, but we don't want to do that. We want to play together on Splatfest. Any suggestions?

The only way to play with friends during Splatfest is to create a room and get three other people to join.

1. You have to be on the same team
2. You can only make a party of 4 to play with friends.

Yeah, for some reason this just pushed me over the edge too, so to speak. Here's my list:

1) System has no Bluetooth audio device support.
2) No system-wide voice chat.
3) No in-game voice chat.
4) Need to use an external app with an audio mixer, and at least three audio cables, in order to get game audio + voice chat combined.
5) And now, finally, I find out you can't easily play SplatFest with your friends unless you have exactly four people ready to form a team. I had been enjoying Regular Battles with a couple friends this evening, until SplatFest started. Then I couldn't play with them anymore, outside of private lobbies.

It's just too much. This is sufficient evidence to conclude that Nintendo is simply outright bad at online play. They are good at many things, but their level of incompetence with online play is astounding. If I didn't know any better, I'd have to guess that they're actively trying to make their online play functionality as poorly designed as possible. It's that bad.
 
Going up against a team of 30’s when it looks like my team just bought the game isn’t fun. Sorry Team Ketchup, i haven’t been pulling my weight tonight.
 
Always leading my team, in splats too, with an aero and traditional controls.

this game went full fucking retard with matchmaking, ive lost my last 6 games after winning 20 straight because im getting matched against teams that are almost 500 rating higher than my own

im 2.2 dropped form 2.4 and my teammates are 1.2-1.3

I got to ketchup king, mostly from ketchup vs ketchup battles, so I'm done. It's been kind of anticlimactic barely going against mayo. I hope the next splatfest is way more even.
 
Ketchup vs. Ketchup. Other team had 200 more power than us. We got decimated.

This matchmaking is terribly flawed, and I don't know if I should be glad that my team has superb people since I did lose.
 
Shifty Station is never close, it's a huge blowout one way or another, that is not the calling card of a good map.

I feel like it would be better if it was like the Waterpark in the first game, where the map shifted once halfway during the map instead of constantly
