2. I create a private lobby from the game with no password. My friend who was remote was able to join but none of the friends in the office were able to join. So I'm guessing there are router expectations (open ports?) to join an online lobby?

You get one extra hit. So instead of taking three shots to die from splattershot it takes four.
The rewards are like phone wallpapers, not in-game stuff. Yeah.
You have to wait a bit before its actually on you.
And yeah only takes a couple if hits extra once it takes its time to activate, it's not meant to be op

It gives your entire team armor. You just need to aim a little more accurately tbh, if people are still beating you. Also, take into consideration the 2 second delay in its activation.

There's a startup animation, it's not instantaneous.
I've had a lot, but it's only been at the end of the game on the results screen. I haven't had any during a game or during matchmaking.

I'm honestly starting to hate this game. constantly placed on the losing team. im no pro but god damn does it get frustrating getting completely dominated every single match. wish i could return it tbh

Are there a ton more ketchup players? I'm on team mayo and most games I played against ketchup(except one).
My wife is on team ketchup and her first four games before I left for work were all against other ketchup players.

The quickest solution to that is to leaveyour current team and give thematchmaking a chance to pair you up with a teamand opponents closer to your current performance.

It's not a Switch specific problem; it's the 2.4 GHz band that is overcrowded.
5 GHz is better (more channels) if your router supports it or you can use Ethernet via a USB adaptor.
Ah, but that would still be two years from now!

Okay couldn't tear myself away. 6 wins in a row against Mayo now.
My favourite moment this Splatfest was when someone tried to use splash down against me, but by the time he came down the platform had moved on. Stylish way to suicide I guess.

Are you on team ketchup? My mayo teams have been crazy good. There's been matches where the other team was destroying me and we still won. Getting carried tbh.
Use weapons the kill btw. TRI sloshed, octobrush, and splattershot(regular or tentatek) are easy to use and great for most battles
I really like the splatting guns
It's actually the best it's ever been if you can handle it well. More range than Splatoon 1 and if you have some fast swim perks it's quite deadly.
It's actually one of my main weps.

Uughhh... Match making on Splatfest is the worst literally it takes me 5 minutes to find a match. And to think I'll be playing for this online next year...

, on the other hand later I used the it to my advantage by doing the splashdown whist the moving platform brought the target into range to die from it.
