Nope

You can't even see the Splatfest shirt. It just appeared grey if they are wearing a splatfest shirt not from your region. Pretty weird if you ask me.
 
They need to do a much better job of these Splatfest. This is unacceptable. It's clear that Marina is more popular. She should not be getting the most likely more popular choice as well. It's completely screwing the population divide. I spent more then an hour playing nothing but other ketchup teams. I went Pearl last time simply because I didn't really care about choices. I couldn't in good faith vote Mayo here but it's insane that the divide is as big as it is. I don't ever remember things been this lopsided in the first game.
 
Man it really sucks when you dominate and get them to danger early on and your team can't maintain that and somehow they beat the crap out of you.

i spent the whole night last night clowning on terrible ketchup teams and playing lots of mayo v mayo when the actually good players were playing?

also after the literal first splatfest in the first game every other single splatfest would involve the competent / competitive players specifically choosing the less popular team to have a more significant effect on the win-percentage and win more snails (incredibly important to competitive players) by taking each splatfest on that metric

For one, callie and marie were way closer in popularity.

Plus most splatfests were very polarizing.
Stuff like cats vs dogs, waterslides vs rollercoasters, etc.

There were a lot of 6X-3X Splatfests too. There weren't very many that were within 10 percent of each other. I think Dogs/Cats, Pokemon Red/Blue, and Callie/Marie were the only ones that were extremely close in popularity.

The only Splatfest that was 48 hours was Callie vs Marie
 
I'm getting Mayo vs Mayos too much now so I'm calling it a night.

Still plenty of time and more people should be about then too. =P

That's silly that the app lies by showing splatfest matches that are same vs same as if they were different. Misnaming the opposing team and their ranks to be opposite. I'm not misremembering, right?

I'm surprised they've repeated their mistake of the first splatfest with this one. It's quite a shame, the mayo vs ketchup matches that I've gotten to play are quite cool with the special ink colors. Although, I wonder if the divide is so strong between the two outside of the US? May be up to cultural differences...

I honestly don't remember it being this bad. Yeah one side was more popular then the other but I never went over an hour like this in any of the Splatfest I played. So for me it feels a LOT worse and this crap isn't fun. I guess I'm just really annoyed.
 
I just gave up in reaching King. Matchmaking is taking up to 10 minutes per match and im consistently being put against people double to triple my level who have more than my 5 hours of play time. Losing just doesnt make me want to keep going.
 
Mayo King achieved with an hour to spare!

I really don't like marathon gaming sessions like this lol. I think I've been playing 8 of the last 23 hours, kinda burnt out. I only got to King status a couple times in Splatoon 1, but it was fun to do it again for the first official Splatoon 2 splatfest.

Plus, I loved the colors

Ya, I don't like it either.

I took screen caps of all my matches with the opposing team so I was able to figure out my win/loss ratio correctly but it would be much better to be able to do it with the app.
 
So to join my friend I just have to keep clicking his name and hope an opening opens in the room so I can join? Awesome.

And man, why the fuck is mayo's players so good.

They didn't repeat their mistake. In the first game popularity decided the Splatfests (inversely), while in the beta one despite the huge popularity gap it was extremely close.

What I think a lot of you are saying is you want assigned teams, and that is a terrible idea.

During Splatfest you can't join him. Normally you'd just be put in a queue until someone drops from his group.
