Popularity like that will always lead to worse players. Cake V Icecream was just an outlier, we're right back to the standard Splatoon 1 way of Fests. Popular = loss.

I was curious about this so I looked it up (Splatoon 1 Splatfest results):

Most popular NA: 6-10
Most popular EU: 9-7
Most popular JPN: 9-7

Seems to be less even in America. I like the current system where it's a best of three, though the team score seems more of a tiebreaker than anything. Though personally, I feel like popularity shouldn't have any impact on the result. We're here to see which is the best THE BEST.
