Considering how ranked works with separate grades for each mode, do you think they'll ever add Turf War as a ranked mode? They have to add some kind of new ranked mode eventually right?

What is the actual effectiveness of drink bonuses? I've tried various times to get a specific ability on a roll and never once have had it ever roll the ability that I drank. What is it like a 25% chance increase?

I had a team on turf wars that dominated for 2:30 of the match and decided it was time to push into the enemy spawn. Problem was, they let the whole team slip through to the middle of the map with only me back to defend it.

We ended up losing because we controlled the two spawns and they had the entire center.

Closest I've come to throwing my controller in years.

I want to throw my controller right now since I finally won a match after three losses and it didn't count because there was a 'combination error' after the match was over.

Grrr

I feel like it's a given that we'll get a fourth ranked mode, but probably not Turf War and who knows when it might show up. My current suspicion is that we might get a mode borrowing some concepts from Salmon Run in a powerball match of sorts, where teams fight to nab a golden egg and deliver it to a basket with some rotating positions. First team to 5 points or highest score at the end of the usual five minutes wins. Since you don't necessarily know where the eggs or your basket will appear, turf control especially around mid would still be crucial but also provide some constant shifts to other key battlegrounds and keep things varied.

That's how I found it. I wanted a beret, not necessarily the military one. But it makes a cool outfit.

The other beret is super lame though.

And this is exactly why we should be able to buy sea snails. X gold for 1 snail

If they sold them they'd be expensive. And then there'd be no difference between that and the default scrubbing method.

Plus it would make Splatfests worthless.

It's a french youtube channel of a couple playing games. They ask the kids who watch their videos to put G&K in their handle...

Well now we have our next Splatfest lined up: Furries vs G&K (Maybe just France in general?)

When I see a charger on the other team I'm pretty sure I'm about to lose. When I see one on my team... I'm pretty sure I'm about to lose

A charger is only as good as their team.
If I see a charger wandering by themselves or undefended by their teammates then they're a free meal.

Ink Storm may be the most under appreciated special right now in this game. I swear I can just DOMINATE in Splatzones with my Splattershot Pro, popping an ink storm whenever they manage to gain control momentarily.

I love using miniguns so i just unlocked the heavy splatling. Little disappointed its a "charger" type weapon, but its fun. Any tips to using it? Best way I see it is to hold a choke point

Finished with 2619 and carried my team to a victory. Jeez that was crazy. We won by .6% because I was holding the middle of Humpack the whole game.

That's the missile launcher, right?
That's my strategy. Try and help out and cover as much ground (and walls) to help my teammates out; warp back to the spawn point when I run out of ink; shoot the special.
Forces the opposing team to fall back instead of attacking in most cases

Inkstorm is the raincloud.

It's also good because enemies can't hide in ink under the area, so it fishes out enemies well.

I'm gonna send friend requests to the people that seemed good in the game lol.

I really wish this game had voice chat with randoms. There are times when all 4 people rush and the base doesn't get inked. Two people die and those two people start inking the base. I want to communicate to them I got it and they can go help the other guys or they can communicate it to me.

so to access the other MP modes you gotta play ranked? am i gonna get my ass kicked?

i've played about ten hours of turf war and have started to get a bit bored by it. need a change up

Hit level 5. As someone new to Splatoon, the game is actually getting better as I get into the rhythm of multiplayer - I could see this becoming addictive.

So can anyone explain some things to me:
-What is the 'P number'? It goes up when you paint stuff, but not when you kill people? But the winning team always seems to have double the score as the losing team, even when the amount painted is similar, so I'm confused.

-How does gear and unlocking abilities work? Do you have to level up each piece of gear separately? Are the hidden abilities pre-set or unlocked randomly? Can you re-colour clothes? Do certain designs always have the same abilities or is the idea to find the stuff you like with the abilities you want?

-What abilities are considered best / are most popular?

-How do you change your loadout? I have the roller with a sub-weapon I don't want. How do I get the ability to change the sub-weapon?

-Where is this Murch fellow?

There are several things wrong with that strategy...First of all walls don´t score any points. Also, by returning to your spawn point you are removing yourself from the center, it´s almost as if you died. What´s more, when you use your special your ink tank gets replenished instantly, but by returning to the spawn (which most likely will already be painted) you´re waisting this advantage; instead you should reamin close to the center and continue painting, pressuring the other team while your special is active. Just fall a bit back or hide somewhere to unleash the specials and jump back into the fight ASAP. Sometimes I use Ink Armor just to replenish my tank while I´m on enemy turf with no one around, hopefully some teammate will take advantage of it, but either way I get an extra ink charge to paint everything before the enemy can react.

Painting walls is strategic. Not all walls, of course, but ones that help you climb.
This strategy is for Ranked so not dying/waiting to respawn is pretty important. You also get a clear-er shot to get more people at once with the tenta missle.

You get points for covering area in your ink, not for kills. Your personal P is then added to the winning bonus.

All gear level up separately, at the start you have access to 1 or 2 slot gear but when you get to higher levels, its gets up to 3 slots. Unlockable skills are random, clothing color cant be changed, certain brands will always have a specific number of the same main ability. You can manipulate what slot skills you get through Murch, who can shuffle them, scrub them (giving you skill bits), and letting you choose an ability yourself (via skill bits).

My personal favorite is Main Ink Saver and Ninja Squid.

All weapons have their own NON-CHANGABLE set. So the roller you have will always have that set unless you unlock and buy a different roller with a different set. Most of the time other "companies" release different variants of the same weapon with different subweapons and specials.

Murch is on the right side of the multiplayer tower, sitting on a bench.

Woah I was wondering what happened to the stage with the fans. I thought there was only one stage?

Looks like there's no charger as a supplief weapon tonight. I should have more fun.

Two stages right now, will have more added later.

It's good for keeping/maintaining a position, but I like using it to cover my teammates. While they go in and try to splat other opponents, I stay on the sidelines/behind them and help by shooting from afar. It's also very good when dealing with Chargers because it can shoot from essentially the same range at a (kind of) faster rate. Sprinkler is a great sub weapon for it, but make sure you have enough ink before shooting.

Edit: Sting Ray also helps with the keep away and zoning. But that's a given.

? I'm confused... where does Murch offer full ability re-rolls for cash? I've never seen this option.
He doesn't.

In the first game, Spyke would re-roll slots in exchange for a sea snail OR 30,000G in cash. Now, Murch will scrub gear (removing sub abilities, returning them as chunks and letting you re-level the gear) for 20kG as a flat rate. With snails, you can either add a slot to a piece of gear with less than three slots, or if the gear is already fully-leveled, will reroll all three subs for new ones, returning the three previous subs as chunks. That, too, is a flat rate, there is nothing done for 30k anymore.

Inches away from the Mini Splatling!

Also, I've already burned all my snails in pursuit of perfect gear. I managed to build an N-Zap set I'm happy with, the remaining current list is:

*Dualie Squelchers
*Octobrush
*Mini Splatling
*Dapple Dualies

Game has a price error on Amazon right now. An extra discount gets taken off at the checkout, it wont show from the main page.

Game is down to 41.02.

iirc learning how much damage each bullet does and your partials is an important part of using splatlings. You don't need to be going for the full charge all the time, although I don't remember how much charge you need to get at least 4 shots.

The P number is points, which is representative of how much turf you've covered. You don't gain points when you cover ground that is already inked in your color; only when you cover ground that's neutral or enemy color. You also only gain points when covering flat or near-flat ground, but having walls painted for mobility is still important (you probably don't want to get trapped at the bottom of a wall when you could've climbed up it!).

Whenever you kill an enemy, the enemy will explode in your ink color and cover the ground, so you should be indirectly getting points by killing the enemy (unless they're deep in your color (in which case why did they overextend that far lol)).

Also the winning team always gets a bonus +1000 points to their score at the end of the match; if you want to see how much the winners actually turfed, subtract 1000 from their score.

-How does gear and unlocking abilities work? Do you have to level up each piece of gear separately? Are the hidden abilities pre-set or unlocked randomly? Can you re-colour clothes? Do certain designs always have the same abilities or is the idea to find the stuff you like with the abilities you want?
Gear with ? slots can gain points to unlock said ? slots. At the end of every match you play, regardless of win or loss, you will fill every bar available on each of your equipped gear for the amount of points you got. Whenever you fill a bar for a slot, it will randomly generate an ability for you (though certain brands of clothing have a bias towards rolling certain abilities). Clothes cannot be recolor'd, though some outfits do come in different colors as separate clothes. To me, what I'd do is find out what play style I like to play with for a certain kit, then pick abilities that emphasizes that play style (and hopefully looks fresh!).

-What abilities are considered best / are most popular?
It's hard to go wrong with Ink Resistance, Swim Speed, Ink Saver Main and Ink Recovery. The other abilities are still very good and deserve some thought, depending on your play style, but you will generally be swimming, shooting, and be near enemy ink a lot.

-How do you change your loadout? I have the roller with a sub-weapon I don't want. How do I get the ability to change the sub-weapon?
Each kit always has a designated sub weapon and special that cannot be changed. There may be a variant which has the same main weapon but with different sub and special, but that's as much difference as you can get for kits.

-Where is this Murch fellow?
Murch can be found to the right of the lobby entrance.

Can you rank up in League Battle?
You cannot rank up in League Battle. Rank manipulation only happens in Solo Ranked; Rank is just a barrier for getting into League.
