Loving the game. Everything about it. Style, visual, music, the little details, Miiverse integration, fun shooting, fun gameplay...

..yet, like Smash and Mario Kart: I can't get online! Static IP, forwarded ports, disabled firewall, etc...and nothing. Heck, last week the speed was updated from 5MB to 10MB, which of course allows for faster browsing and downloads (and uploads too -ping is better too-), yet no luck when it comes to online multi on this games.

Call Nintendo support? Might need a new router.

So this game is pretty much the best thing ever.

Or at least, it's fun as hell. I find myself playing multiplayer for a couple hours, then saying, "Oh, I'll do just a lil' bit of single-player before bedtime." Then I knock out the first world, but I still feel like playing, so I return to Inkopolis, upgrade my gear and do more multiplayer. And then I still have the itch, so I scratch it with more single-player.

Single-player feels infinitely replayable. Tearing through each level at top speed (after carefully scouring them for the Sunken Scroll the first time around) is satisfying in much the same was as a Pure Platinum run in Bayo 2. You know what the stage will throw at you, so you're able to leverage that knowledge along with your mastery of mechanics to deftly outmaneuver each enemy and platform your way to the end.

The "game feel" is just perfect: the splat-a-tat-tat of the weapon, the dipping and diving, the swimming up walls and leaping over chasms. This game is so... so EAD.

Man... this post... my thirst to play this game is at hype/10 levels right now. How is it still only 4:30pm?

Granted I tend to take those with a grain of salt due to the honeymoon period most people suffer from.

This is because most shooters now adays are made in mind to go for people that like certain things about other popular shooters, so it comes down to if you like how the games economy works out, or the xp or TTK. None of this matters in splatoon. I played the single player and went over to multiplayer because just painting surfaces with the games mechanics is fun in itself, and single player doesn't have enough geometry. If anything, I think this might cement a Wii U gamepad successor for the Wii U2.

My personal highlight so far is when an enemy roller was hiding round a corner, ready to bash me as I turned. After dodging the blow, I gave chase as they started to run... right into the roller of one of my team mates.

Got to level 10 today. Pretty much played all afternoon. I love the Miiverse integration, the graffiti legit makes me laugh sometimes, and you can "Yeah" any post you see on the plaza with the Y button (quite fitting, in fact). Single-player is great so far (finished the first two "worlds"), can't wait to play more.

quick edit: I think I found my gun for now: Splattershot Pro. It ain't the most efficient weapon for just painting, but it has the Inkstrike as the special weapon, which helps a lot, and I can consistently get kills with it, helping my team's turf domination

edit 2: got 1400 gold from the judge for being SO HAWT twice already. Oh yeah! lol

Keep your distance, look for high places to set up on. Cover lots of ground by shooting in circles around you. Be a second-in-line support for another teammate.

I think it's good, but the Splattershot weapons will continue to be superior in scoring in Turf War. The max amount of points I've been able to get with the Charger is about 1200.

You can, but it's usually better to shoot with a half-charge.

It's very pick up and play friendly. There is fair amount of depth for those looking to improve, learn the stage layout and tricks of each weapon/sub weapon, and the use of perks on the equipment.
