Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Lost every single game since I started playing this game 40 minutes ago.

Switch weapons, you'll find something to your liking.
Master movements (switching to squid form often, jumping well, etc.)
Focus on covering territory and stay clear of firefights if you lose them all.
Try gyro controls/turning them off and fiddling with sensitivity settings.

So far I'm best with rollers, probably because aiming isn't as important with those. Tried playing a few rounds with a charger, but I didn't feel like I was contributing much. With a charger, should I still try to paint the ground, or should I be more focused on sniping enemy players?

That depends on the map. The charger can put long lines of paint, so the corridors and middle area of the warehouse are well suited for that. The middle "tower" of the skatepart is perfect for a charger (both for painting and removing enemies).

sorry if i'm beating a dead horse, can i queue up with friends? i don't want us split up, we wanna roll together on the same team.

I am pretty sure the answer is no to this one at least. which is really really unfortunate. Maybe they will add that if ppl post on miiverse or something.

What does that satellite dish subweapon do again?
Isn't that the one that allows you to squid jump to it's location? Very useful tool to get into important areas, especially if left unchecked. (EDIT - beaten!)

Absolutely hooked on this game, got to Lv 14 last night and bought meself my first three-slotted gear piece (a funky fisherman's hat). Levelling it up will be long though, 9000 EXP for one perk?

Great game, can't wait for Ranked to be unlocked, as well as new maps added to rotation :3

So kraken mode, I'm hitting like every damn button and it does nothing and others can just squid away from the damage, what's the point of this super?

This game is fantastic. Played a fair bit of singleplayer and multiplayer tonight, super fun. Great style!

My strategy with charger when playing yesterday was essentially rushing to the middle section then trying my hardest just to hold that part of the map. The actual details depend on the map of course. With charger painting the ground is very important too but it's the most deadly long range weapon so you should be able to pull off a good amount of kills too. Remember that each time you kill an enemy they're spending valuable seconds not inking your turf.

Of course it all comes down to the fact that you just gotta know how to aim. It's not a very good weapon if you can't consistently kill enemies with one shot.

Yeah the problem is I have to grind till level 4 first, don't like the starting gun.

Will try the other tips.

Played the first few levels of single player. It's great! This game is really something special.

Even the Squid Jump game is surprisingly fun. It has a ton of stages! I can't wait to get my 3-Pack of Splatoon Amiibo in the mail next week. Any impressions of the three minigames that unlock from those of you who already have the figures?

Starting gun is ace. Abuse the special, if you're new avoid combat and just paint until you get the gauge full. Then find a fight, pop the shield, and get free kills.

I'm actually decent at killing lol, guess I can't cover enough paint or something.

Keep at it. I'm halfway through 7 and I'm still using the starting gun. I really didn't want to use it for 4 levels but by the time I hit 4 I was really enjoying it. The shield can turn some fights for you real quick.

So I have a question, I know you get a specific gear from beating the singleplayer, but lets say during that time you play multi and got new gear that you upgraded alot and then go back to finish the singleplayer, is that story gear useless unless you do lots of leveling with it?(still new to it and havent played multiplayer yet)

Played my last match before I have to leave for work.

Scored 1200 points and went 12-0 on kills/killed.

This game is fun. I wish I could've screenshotted it.

NA tumblr just posted it
