I've had comm errors and some lagI didn't play last night but didn't the maintenance last night help with lag?
I'm wired by the way

If you kill someone then that person is dead on their end too, regardless of lag.
Imagine if the opposite were true. You shoot directly at someone and they clearly should've taken enough shots to die, but aren't dead? You roller right over someone but they somehow live, because they were actually somewhere else and lag lied to you? Would be so frustrating. So, often with lag players will end up killing each other. I think that's a fine way to handle it IMO.
This has never happened to me. It's not the game, it's probably your internet connection.
That is how lag works tho. Nothing baffling there.
A lot of talk on latency, weird that the only times i've had the lag-tastic experiences of beyond-the-gravekills and disappearing players, was when my own internet was hitting the shitter.
If I see someone else disconnect or obviously lag, they've basically just stood still or run straight without moving, until they disappear.
I do dawgIt's called Ranked Mode. No-one has groove there.
Baffling was a poor choice of words, I suppose. I actually find it somewhat funny (and just a little frustrating) to see ink being rolled out by itself with no person behind it. I don't have a proper comparison for how this would work in a more "typical" online game.
I do dawg
Sorry, have to take a break for a couple days, no chance of that hahaThen I pray RNGesus gives me you at some point as I am going back to C+ at this rate.
Ugh, B- at 10 Rank Only...might aswell get ready for the C+
Do you get anything exclusive in ranked?
Only massive levels of frustration.Do you get anything exclusive in ranked?
Are duders more durable when they're preparing an inkstrike? I swear I shot some guy twice point blank with the Blaster and he survived long enough to set off a strike and gun me down.
Splatoon got close to 100% sell-through in Japan, nice.
Sorry, have to take a break for a couple days, no chance of that haha
So my experience with ranking up.
C- to C: Not too hard. Everyone is learning the mode. Some are playing like it's Turf War lol.
C to C+: Not too hard.
C+ to B-: Game, why are you giving me all of the C- players for my team?
B- to B: What are you doing team?
B to B+: Fun close games that could go either way with the occasional "what are you doing teammate".
B+ to A-: I love you team.
I only lost one game going from B+ to A- and that was a close game that we lost cause we pushed in too hard lol.
Only massive levels of frustration.
It's more like 40-50, it's smoother than before.
Ah. It's such a drastic difference that I thought it was 60. Well it's MUCH better than before so it's a welcome change.![]()
Lost by 0.1%,biasedbased Judd!
B- to B: What are you doing team?
No. Ninja Squid is a clothes ability only. Are there any sneakers that have the ninja ability? I have the sweater but want to use a different top
There may have been more than one player with Inkstrike. That said, with the Aerospray, I have been known to get up to six in a match, so it isn't impossible if his gear was tailored for it.Has anyone heard about any modding/hacking or anything going on in the game? Just curious, played a game in Turf War just now and a guy called in like 10 Inkstrikes within the time of the match, covering two matches. He was on my team both times, so it was easy wins and all, but I was like...there's no way that should be possible, right? I don't think I've seen more than 4 from a single person in a single match. He left that lobby after the two matches, though, so I was thankfully not on the receiving end of that.
It's only on Clothing. Here is the list of unique abilities. Are there any sneakers that have the ninja ability? I have the sweater but want to use a different top
Is Opening Gambit as sweet for Splat Zones as I think it could be? Because that first push is super important.
why yes, yes it is
ink hopping never felt so good
I find it hard to believe you don't notice the large amount of double kills which is down to latency.
In most modern PC games I've played either this strange behavior happens or the game itself is paused (SC2 or something like that) depending on the situation. I think the Wii U's questionable wifi capabilities combined with immature netcode and loose (in a global and ping filter sense) matchmaking lead to more noticeable lag though.

Can you explain the reasoning for gradually rolling out additional stages, items and modes in the months after release?
There are two reasons for this:
First, we put a lot of effort into every inch of the online stages, so by playing them over and over again users can get a better feel for the terrain, giving the gameplay more breadth and depth. The characteristics of the weapons and the strategies for using them vary with each weapon, and of course these will vary depending on the stage you use them in and even what combination of equipment your teammates and opponents are using. We want users to enjoy each and every single piece of content we've prepared, so rather than provide a lot at once, we're going to be adding them a little at a time.
Second, is that while we've paid a lot of attention to the balancing the game, the flip-side of this is that we feel the game needs weapons with a lot of variety as well as stages with complex layouts to really expand the gameplay.
The problem there is that these can sometimes disrupt the overall balance of the game.
The real fun of Splatoon comes when players are comfortable with the game, and are able to play to their full potential with other players they meet in the online matches.
We'll be adding more stages and weapons as we see how the community matures. We'll also do something similar with further game modes too.

Dude, are you comparing SC2, I am assuming starcraft to a shooter?
You want the game paused for everyone, until the net catches up? Really?
I am not sure what you mean by the above in bold. Lag happens no matter if it is wifi or ethernet.
Lag happens in BF/COD on pc alllllllll the time. Ever got shot and you go around a corner and die? that is lag.
With just 2 players on a team using Aerospray I've been on the receiving end of a near constant stream of inkstrikes to try and clear up before.
Guess we know where all the Japanese people are coming from.
And a comparison to other Wii U First Weeks:
As long as he doesn't die (or dies after using the inkstrike), I think it should be possible. He could also have gear built around it. Tenacity helps quite a bit if your teammates are constantly dying.
Aerospray coupled with some equipment that boosts special gauge fill rate can let you call in an incredible number of inkstrikes per match as long as you're constantly painting (super easy if you stay on high ground in a contested area and keep inking over enemy ink). With just 2 players on a team using Aerospray I've been on the receiving end of a near constant stream of inkstrikes to try and clear up before.
