Splatoon is so full of all these nice little touches it's pretty amazing to witness.

It's already on the disc. All they gotta do is put it on some kind of timer or online unlock and it'll be there.

Why? P2P during the actual gameplay is theoretically faster (and it also makes it possible to provide free online).

Because it's not reliable. It's great when everybody has a good connection (played a perfect hour of ranked last night where nobody lagged or d/ced), but you can't always get that, especially since most wii u users use wireless. And since it relies on other people, I've noticed that sometimes you get a mass d/c situation where 3 or more disconnect at the same time.

I played a few matches today and had two connection errors before a match and very bad lag in the last three matches. Had not played the past three days and never had these issues before.

Not from my experience, but they will probably refresh servers in the near future.

Some of the game's little touches are reminiscent of Animal Crossing even though it's a completely different genre. I guess that's the influence of Nogami, Eguchi and co.

White Anchor Tee has 30.3% chance for the Damage Up sub-ability, which is why more people are going to alternative Ninja Squid shirts. I think the Shrimp Pink Polo is the best, even though it looks kinda meh.

This was me last night; played for about three hours straight and never went above Toasty on the freshness meter. Talking to Judd at the end of a long play session and only getting 100 G is like putting salt on the wound

Hehe, you might as well just not talk to Judd, 100G is so negligible.

Same, started going downhill when I got matched with terrible team players for 7 or 8 games in a row (seriously noone else got over 2 splats in the entire run) and from there my Rank has gone from a solid B back to a C (not even C+)

Auch, that has to hurt. When you're dropping hard in ranks the best thing to do is to just stop for a moment. Play some casual turf wars or just stop playing for a while. May be just me, but when I do badly I get so angry at myself I only start playing worse and it becomes a downward spiral fast.

Everyone just got better.

Well, of course people are getting better, but I'm honestly just playing bad. I can't even hit someone who's right in front of me.

Think I finally have to give in and move on to motion controls, but right now I can't select them as my gamepad screen is broken, lel.

The difference is substantial enough that skill almost completely overrides the effect of sub abilities.

You'll be a teenie bit faster, stronger, and harder, but it's hard to notice in most cases.
