I was confused because lots of Europe speaks English, so the "learn the language" thing paired with "they are Europeans" doesn't appear to make sense. I could also be tired and not thinking clearly at the moment.

Yeah, I meant myself, a bit of Julius Caesar problem there. I do speak English, combined with some gibberish and bullshit. But they are universal like sign language so most of the time I do just fine.

Flounder Heights is so fun to play on 
it's a big fun playground to climb up and down and explore. Which is why I think it's a bad idea to be doing any extended camping from the middle area. One should be checking the minimap way more often because there are lots of ways to be ambushed here. This is very different from Moray Towers where there is a really obvious choke point that everyone is going to have to fight through.

I just turned S+ not too long ago. Haven't touched solo ranked since S 83 from like two weeks ago, thought I'd give it a go with arowana and flounder heights splat zones. 6 game win streak later, S+! I'm not touching solo rank ever again xD haha
If there's people that want to learn the chargers (kraken e-liter in my case), I've found his videos really useful to improve.
In the spanish version she seems more bored than mean, like it´s a chore to her being there giving the news.
Callie instead is more happy-go-lucky and funnier in general.

I never saw it happen in those eight hours of Arowana rainmaker at s/s+ rank. In fact, I have never seen anyone other than myself do it in any mode. I tried a few times to do it in Rainmaker but since it is so close to enemy spawn, I died before I could get up the wall. It is a non-issue. Anyone glancing at map will see you going up the side hallway and head there before you can even climb that ledge.

Well I've played the most Splatoon at a tine in over a month excluding splatfest.
I really like Splat Zones is rank. The dual squelcer is my go to.
I only play Tower County on Triggerfish. Won the first time but lost the second. With the tower traveling over so much water it's tough to get on.
I found in the second match it felt relatively easy to deny the other team as we could shoot them on the tower before they got in range.
Played one match on Flounder and while I rode it for seconds we quickly lost in less than a minute.
It was crazy. A perfect combination of ink strikes and a Killer Whail ensured them to be safe for the final part of the journey. Good teamwork from what I assume are randoms.
I would play more but it's early morning and I need some sleep.
I just remembered I forgot my 100 coins from Judd. I also get them but I'm not turning on my Wii U and TV just for that.

Again. Won. +6. 86.
Then +10. 96.

By the way, Flounder Heights is a terrific map on all modes. One of the best maps available.

At first I didn't understand why his opponents were so bad. Then I realized these videos are from splatfests.

Well so far my only experience has been with zones and tower but zones I'm lost most times to which side to defend while tower is more of a "I have no idea where to put my wall cause attacks come from everywhere" deal. I'm sure I haven't given it a fair shake.

I've found that to be true as well. I finally hit A+ yesterday too and most of the time (at least in Rainmaker) my teammates were much better overall. Tower Control is still iffy. Also lately I think I've been doing a better job of taking advantage of the range of my weapons and keeping Aerosprays/Splattershot (Jr.)s beyond their range but within my Spattershot Pro or .96 Gal's.
I just visited squidboards for the first time. For some reason, I thought it was a place where the hardcore players discussed the game. Turns out, it is no better than gamefaqs message boards. I go into the "competitive" forum and see threads discussing how "coldblooded" is a useless ability and someone sincerely saying that bomb rush should be banned.

Splatzones was interesting since it's so open, a bit like at Walleye - like you said, enemy can come from anywhere. This openness played to our advantage this morning as we were seriously losing the game but kept coming up the walls wherever we could and took them by surprise. They were already down to something like 20 or so while we were standing around 80.
I suspect two snipers standing back to back in the top middle could hold the zone quite nicely.
Tower Control was very good two, the route is simple and shorter than I thought but there's a couple of places to take the riders out. And because those ledges are so high, even blasters can't drop them.
Can you even get Splashwalls on tower there? Or does tower stay too far from walls?
There´s place for everyone and the competitive aspect of the game is still young. The guides there (most) are really good, I remember reading a guide on the Dynamo Roller that helped me a lot to wrap my head around that weapon and finally get to A+ with it.

For me today has been a better day lag-wise than many previous days. I only had one instance this morning when a bomb rush slowed everything down but other than that, nothing. That is so weird.
Though I've noticed that it's the afternoons when the lag is at it's worst. Could it be because there's evening in Japan?

Anyone else feel sorry whenever that random low level person shows up in your rooms? Last night the game kept putting me against a level 9 roller who was still obviously learning its range and was either just running at me with it or flicking from way too far away. After a few games of just splatting him over and over I tried going easy on him by shooting around him to get him to run away from me or hiding and letting him run past me so I could just ink his trails behind him. The rest of my team picked up the slack of killing him for me anyway

So question. Now that I'm A- thanks to Robotguy, Quartz, and Teemu, how are randoms at this rank? I've been spoiled playing ranked with GAF that I don't know if I can go back to randoms lol
If you're used to playing against gaf, you're probably better than the majority of A- randoms out there. If you end up in a room with all A- players you should be fine unless the other ones on your team just end up being really bad. The problem is that even in A- you'll still end up in rooms with one or several A+ or S rank players and they can really screw up the balance of the room. Even if you can handle playing against an A+ or S rank, your other A- teammates probably can't.

Better than in the B ranks, but I didn't notice a big difference until I was A or A+. And as Geg said, S ranks start showing up in your rooms, which fucks everything up all the time.
I enjoyed our squad!

I agree with Geg. A- randoms aren't that good yet. I played many duo squads with sirInkalot and Jeff Vader and those went extremely well: then at least one team member knows how to play even if the rest of the squad is random.
Come play with us again. We had a great squad.
That said, anyone wanna get a squad together and take up Rainmaker in Flounder Heights?

I've been out of town for 3 weeks and with the update and new map(s) and weapons I'm kinda feeling alienated from booting up the game.

Yes but too late - these Japanese team members didn't really care about the fish. Or teaming or escorting. They liked to paint walls and climb around with rollers which is kind of slow.
We should team up again sometime.
You can hang with the best of GAF based on the rooms I've seen you in, therefore I'd say you punching a fair bit above your letter rank. Of course the scatterbrained-ness that is random ranked is going to test your patience/endurance here and there, but you're solid.
Says the guy about to demote out of S tier thanks to bad choices playing Saltspray Rainmaker and Neo Urchin/Neo Moray Splat Zones... =/
Hell yeah, congrats Emil you really deserve it, now to try and bump into Kasumi in solo ranked to get her up to S+ as well lol.
Congrats, don't make the same mistake I did deranking back into S rank because I wanted the 99 lol, granted a lot of my deranking was due to my poor internet disconnecting me at the time but it took me 3 days just to get back to S+
