since when are she hulk and war machine thanos material? there were a lot of characters that had no reason fucking with thanos that day

to be fair, war machine wasn't supposed to be there, and was along for the ride because he was banging carol. Chalk that up to Carol having shit judgement. I can't recall at all what the hell she-hulk was doing there, she's not on that squad, so I'm guessing clearly inserted for bodycount reasons.

As far as teams go though, that particular team is as loaded with heavy hitters as any other marvel team if not moreso- they even planned in advance to have Carol go Binary before the ambush.

Jesus christ that hurt my soul.

Scarlet Witch, Sersi, Deathcry, Crystal, of all these good Avenging women to take an L for, Carol is the one you choose?

lol, putting aside what Iron Man himself could contribute to a fight against Thanos, The Ultimates not trying to source Thor Foster for the fight was dumb as hell. I honestly blame all of them for this too, like Carol is the leader but I'd have a hard time believing that Panther, America, Monica, Brashear would follow blindly.

Still surprised that Jean Grey death has held on this long.

it kinda hasn't? "teen jean" is the cheapest way around that death ever.

Hey, where are the rest of the O5? Slumming it in a book no one gives a shit about while Jean is hanging with the big dogs.

that whole bit was an excuse to bring back jean for the Nth time, and everyone else is along for the ride.

Do you think they think of themselves as the B team? LOL

in this situation? they should. rescue efforts to clear people the fuck out of that assholes range. if i had a suit of armor, and unless that thing was powered by the remnants of a collapsed star, im not fucking with thanos

Cloud 9 and Komodo were busy

those kids are smart enough not to fuck around

the ultimates (sans tchalla) and johnny on the ground, sure. medusa, crystal, and dazzler though? crystals good as a destraction, but she shouldnt be anywhere near a place where thanos can reach out and touch her. same with medusa. dazzler is a toss up depending on where her powers currently are

Jean Grey is in that club of comic book characters who peak so hard with one story that the rest of their existence revolves around either deliberately avoiding it or redoing it.

Hulk got lucky, at least he had one more big peak with Planet Hulk after Peter David's run.

So you saying Patriot is in a bunker somewhere just trying to survive?
Someone needs to write a Jackal vs Sinister mini where they have armies of Gwens and Jeans.

I want this so bad......

patriot is outside the multiverse with kevin brashear. thats why they cant bring him back. he somehow fell out when the multiverse collapsed and cant get back in, and reed and co didnt think to make a copyy

All this talk about whether Banner's eyes were slightly green or not got me thinking. An art reference this specific yet seemingly insignficant sounds like something Grant Morrison would do, i.e. the beginning of his Batman run had Zur en Arrh graffiti plastered all over the place in obscure locations. Has Bendis been known to be this careful and meticulous with his notes to his artists? Cause I always figured him to be cut from the Geoff Johns cloth rather than the Morrison cloth.

That Dark Phoenix saga was too good

what issue was this

one of the recent spidermen, I don't recall which one. there's a sub plot where random dead people are popping back up alive to convince certain supervillains (lizard, rhino, a few others) to get back in the game.

They found vanessa dead in a hotel room shot in the head- the implication being that kingpin refused whatever the offer was, so they simply shot the clone and left her to rot.

So Bruce Banner will be back and Thor Odinson will be worthy to wield Mjolnir again byyyyy August-ish 2017? That sound about right?

Odinson was deemed worthy again right before Secret Wars hit- but was killed right afterwards fighting beyonders.

Ah right, I read that but I may have forgotten the kingpin bit.

I think it was implied. All of the other clones confronted or were presented to the villains they were closest to. Can't see anyone else that would be significant for Vanessa unless the Rose is back somehow.

This is a legitimate question, since Doc Green developed a formula that would permanently de power anyone with gamma powers.

This is why Red She Hulk, Red Hulk, Skar, and A-bomb aren't around anymore. He gave it to Jennifer in full view of the Avengers as a "last resort" instead of using it on her, so it's not like they don't know it exists.

According to Doc Green, it wouldn't work on himself because of how he constructed it.

Just read the issue and - yep, Banner's death is as ignoble as it sounded. At least Rhodey died saving the world or whatever and gets to have several issues of comics praising him and mourning him. He answered the call and went up against a clear evil madman. Banner dies like a maniac: confused, bewildered, and defenseless. Put down like a dog by a fellow hero at that. Shit man, as a Hulk fan, it really sucks.

I'm a pretty big Hulk fan, too. It sucks... but at the same time, given Banner's shit life up to this point, it fits in.

It would have worked better if he'd been in the middle of explaining that he wasn't the Hulk anymore when he got shot.

.

had to go back and read the issue. You're right- that one wasn't a cure, but it WAS a "countermeasure" designed to stop him if he ever went full Maestro.

Doc Green says it wouldn't kill him, but it would make him "wish he was dead" and buy the avengers time to make difficult choices in the interim. Kind of vague about exactly what it did but it doesn't sound pleasant.

Either way, they have that laying around and it should have been an option.

The ultimates is the "B" team??

Good lord who is the A team? The Annihilators? I don't think they're still a thing
They fucking should be.
Why didn't they shrink him?

Because apparently no one could figure out how to use Pym particles.
Fucking hate Marvel writers, fucked up just about every character and plotline, seriously make up your own characters and fuck them up, don't mess with the classics.
"Don't mess with the classics?" Oh good god.

I'm surprised they didn't bring the entire A-Force. You know, like Singularity and Dazzler Thor.

All-New should be called "Evan and friends," because that's all anybody should care about: Evan Sabanur.
clone wars. have it take place in the middle of ney york, and noone intervenes
I have never wanted something so badly in my life
Why the hell did Franklin and Reese remake the universe with Thanos in it? Some shit you can leave out.

Thanos was sitting outside the universe. He got back in through the hole Galactus made to get back in.

Fucking Ultimates, man.

Nah, they're going to skirt around the Thor issue by giving Ultimate Thor's hammer to Odinson.

"It's important to have balance and give our friends strong foes to fight, son."

Jane is going to die and he'll get classic Mjolnir back

I honestly am not seeing Aaron's run ending in Jane's death. I do think she'll die, but the capper will be something between her and Hela.

Essentially, I think he'll get classic Mjolnir back, but I doubt they're completely dropping Jane Thor.

Man they really should. Not because she's bad or anything, as I absolutely adore her, because the storyline feels like it has to go that way.

I kinda wonder if all these continuity issues (magic users suddenly having magic, Banner suddenly being Hulk again, etc) are going to add up to be artifacts of Ulysses power. And that power would turn out be something like the ability to create future events (possibly by creating pocket universes?) based on his feelings and world knowledge. So Banner would be the Hulk again in this pocket universe because Ulysses wanted to hit back at Tony Stark and didn't know that Amadeus is the new Hulk.

But then I remember it's Bendis and it's probably just shock drama with no regard for any other current storyline.
