The real Sailormoon 10+ year redux - 05

This episode is awesome, I thought the cat kicking was great, but then there's brother slapping and then the lizard zombies was just icing on the cake.

I enjoyed it minus the couple of needless fanservice shots in Ep. 3 and 4. It's Ep 15 that I didn't like because it's making it seem like Kyousuke wants to bone his sister, and I preferred it back when it was (in my eyes anyway) about a brother and sister slowly becoming a part of each other's lives again after some sort of fallout between them. I thought that dynamic was rather touching, and maybe it's just bad scripting/directing on this final episode's part, but if that's the direction it's going in then meh. :/

Still, Taketatsu Ayano's voice is lovely, no matter the role! ^_^

it was never touching or genuine in the slightest

Ano Hana - 08

Why is she just flipping things on the floor, if she could hold a pen long enough I'm sure she can just poltergeist everyones ass.

And with each passing episode I'm starting to reminisce about Fuko in Clannad... that's not good.

That's great news. I was hoping this would be a long-running series but wasn't sure. As long as the quality doesn't dip, Sket Dance is a show I can commit to.
The Manga gets better as it goes imo so if you are into it now you should be set for a while.

So I haven't watched any series for a while, last thing I remember watching all the way through was Natsume Yuujinshou. I enjoyed that a fair bit!

I started two series quite randomly now, Ano Hana and Hanasaku Iroha. Only seen the first episodes and I wouldn't call them awful or anything, but just generally uninteresting.

I love Mushishi, Azumanga Daioh and Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Also dug the Ghost in the Shell SAC series.

Is there anything that isn't as in-your-face as Ano Hana and Iroha seem to be. I mean a kid ghost and re-bonding with your old friends because 'time stopped back then'. Both series just have this really bland feeling to them so far (1st eps). I'm gonna check out a couple more episodes but my hopes aren't high.

Any recommendations?, something a little more fun maybe? But not the crazy wee-waa-shi-zuioarhrhrh stuff I can't understand. I dislike K-on immensely and Lucky Strike was just a bore, also Zetsubou Sensei was too screamy and unfun.

Or if anyone can point to some posts in this thread where someone explains why they like a particular show without comparing it to a million other shows I haven't seen. I tried looking through the thread a bit and have seen some discussion about Ano Hana but generally I find it really hard to find anything in giant threads like this. :/

Trailer 2 is up. The action and effects animation looks pretty BONESy! :D

Totally looks like a BONES show... like the type of BONES show i typically love, please don't screw this up BONES!

I heard the source material wasn't so good, so I'm not holding out much hope for it

Check out Tiger & Bunny.

There's also a new Natsume coming next season so you might wanna look into that.

Oh wow and here I thought after watching Arjuna, I'd only be disapointed when watching this. I was wrong, I was so very very wrong.

This ep had everything.

EVERYTHING.

Holy shit, the repeat a frame 3 times thing was annoying when it was used nearly every 30 seconds, but it also added to the intense barrage of gags all the way through.

I lost it at this moment.

So much win.

Wait a second,
Msyu is actually Yogas sister Mashu? Does that mean all assets were once futures of people who lost in the financial district? It's also quite meta if something that doesn't even exist anymore, a lost future, represents his future...

This episode was getting a tad too competent for my liking but luckily it was redeemed by the end. Cheerleading squad turning pompoms into confetti by throwing them in the air and firing a barrage of bullets at them at a filled stadium? Yes, please.

The subs, however, were utterly inexcusable. I've come to expect things now and this time they did not deliver. At all.

Another fantastic episode

okarin has found him self in quite the pickle this time, not knowing what feyris-chan text back to the past and how it changed the present.

yo dog, I just but Xzbit meme in your steins gate

wft?... I was expecting something really bad, episode was quite good.
Don't know why gaf is making a big fuss about her interacting with objects when it was confirmed in the very first episode, that she can do that.

Terrycloth? Not really that bad ass.

Fireball Charming 8

Totally amazing episode. Show of the season. If you're not watching this show you're missing out! etc.

For comedy, I would really reccomend Oouran, that was the only Anime that made me laugh in every Episode. Also, Baka no Test and Kunchu Brankuu

Agreed. Totally awesome show. Deserves all the attention it gets - and it doesn't get nearly enough attention.

I was expecting more from a Meme-centric episode but I can't complain too much. And poor Yamamoto, man. Friendzoned at 40? Ouch.

This episode also confirms that the sparkle is actually a hereditary trait of the Touwas. Either that or dandruff just runs in the family.

And I've been extolling the virtues of Fireball Charming for a while now. It's not my fault the rest of you lot refuse to see the light.

The fuss is why it took this long for Menma to interact with objects to prove that Jintan isn't crazy other than writer's convenience, and Jintan thinking she's a halleucenation doesn't fly because he made food for her which she ate since episode 1.

Now that everyone is in on the ghost, the ending will be... interesting to say the least.

You should try Wandering Son from last season. Its not in your face like Ano Hana and Hanasaku are. You might try [C] from this season if you can get past the ugly. Tiger and Bunny is a fun show that is reminiscent of saturday morning superhero cartoons you used to watch as a kid.

Sure is melodrama in here.

And so much for trying to keep it vague. Remind me again, though, why couldn't she just do this shit from day one? Other than it not being convenient for the writer, that is.

I'd make a joke about how much better team HanaIro is but it just seems cruel now.

Wait, so all of a sudden [C] and Steins;Gate are really good now? Ugh, hate it when shows start out mediocre then suddenly get better; it's going to be a pain to catch up 17 episodes combined during E3 week.
Guess I'll need to run a first episode test on anything that even remotely catches my interest for summer to make sure I'm not missing out.

I'm enjoying both for different reasons and they're certainly not bad but calling them really good might be a bit of a stretch, imo.

This episode was really good. Take that Trejo!

Frankly, this it the kind of storyline and direction I was hoping the story was eventually going to engage in, rather than strange nonsense battles.

However I can't be entirely positive because this is kind of like a MASSIVE PLOT ARC out of nowhere situation. It's still fairly interesting though. More story than Catcher in the Rye, at least.

Your words are as empty as your soul!

Besides, it's just this episode you're refering to as really good. I thought judging whole shows instead of the individual episodes they're composed of was a no-no?

Hey man, Holden's hat is awesome, ok?

I love how after the cheerleader scene (which in itself was absolutely ridiculous) I was pretty much playing the entire last scene in my head before it actually happened, and when it ended all I could do was shake my head and laugh.

The show is a total disaster and it's all the better for it.

Conan has taught me a valuable life lesson, if you go to a spa, temple, or on vacation expect one of your friends/family members to become a murderer.

I want to know if Nichijou is more like azumanga or more like luckystar or k-on, thanks in advance :p

It's like none of those, it's closer to azumanga in how it's setup every episode but broken even further into 5-10 minute segments and is more slapstick akin to Full Metal Panic fumoffu, has wordplay like in Lucky Star and the animation is as fluid as K-on... okay maybe it's a bit like all three + extra.

Ehhhh. Kind of a weak episode and I'm largely going to hold the writing responsible. Is that what men and women sound like? Odd, robotic and stilted? I hope not.

Also the
bad end
was kind of contrived and came out of nowhere. Really, that's her solution to that particular situation? I think not. It's like they wanted to end on a downer but couldn't work out how to do it logically.

jack of all trades, master of none.

Actually, not even close to mastery of any of those, except animation.
