Been tempted to give it a look given how popular it is. Your post makes it sound like something I'd like with the usual reservations I'd have about an unnecessarily lewd show.

Yeah, that's the kind of attitude you have to have going in.

I had completely dismissed it out of hand at the start of the season like everyone else, because the premise sounded so crap. And most of the assumptions about it going in are true (the incest vibes feel all-but-nonexistent to me). It's a hikkikomori wish-fulfillment fantasy. But the people making it at Madhouse seem to care about elevating what they're working with and making it as fun as they can, and it shows.

It's not as good as the three shows I was watching before (Ping Pong, Mushishi, Jojo), but it's a hell of a lot more entertaining than One Week Friends has been the last few weeks.

It would suck even more if your attraction extended to the real world, so be thankful for that at least (assuming it doesn't).

I actually like the compilation movies. TV series is kinda trash but removing the harem and making Saber/Shirou more like partners did wonders for it.

I wouldn't say "flaunting it" is my intention. Believe me when I say I'm acutely aware of how touchy a subject this can be, and I generally try to choose my words carefully to hopefully avoid being banned at least.

On the other hand, when discussing shows which are specifically designed to appeal to my preferences, I feel like it's reasonable to be honest about them to some extent. I don't want to misrepresent my own opinions as a fan. And when I see people making hateful comments about those shows, I feel some measure of duty to voice a counteropinion, because I don't want to promote that kind of attitude by inaction.

I try to remain good-humoured about these things and not make it into a big deal even when some of the attitudes people have make me genuinely angry, so please understand that I'm not trying to be antagonistic or attention-seeking here. I just feel like there has to be a little balance.

I don't think FSN (the VN) is terrible. It has a lot of pretty cool moments in it, but it's limited by its pretty unlikable protagonist. I liked Fate/Zero much better.

Really liked this show more than I thought I would, Great visual humor and great character interaction goes a long way in comedy stuff like this. The show can go from 0-lewd in no time admittedy but that helped remind me of Muromi-san in the end (sans the boy and sakuga & with monsters rather than mermaids) in that the humor was centered around some general culture shock, a bit of lewd, and a whole lot of stupid.

Premise of the monster princesses coming to live together worked well enough in the end. Selection was good too as you can't lose with such classic monsters as werewolves, vampires, mahou shoujos, or the dreaded meganekko. Frightening stuff.

Just checked the show out yesterday after seeing it getting so many recommendations and yeh...

I mean even now I just can't believe how nonchalant shows are about that kind of fanservice. Dunno what it actually says but when the English dub even mentions s.th. like "this would be like child porn if he were in the bath with me" just... uh. What?


Well, my opinion on /r/anime's majority opinion has gotten worse and worse. Looks like the larger part of that subreddit is indeed the audience that this shit is pandering to.

No game no life gets so much attention there and shit, Brynhildr in the Darkness and "Akuma no Riddle" are also well liked and.. well when I checked those out I had to realize that THOSE TOO are your generic, badly written, Ecchi, harem wish fulfillment shows.

I was seriously looking at some of the episode discussions and people talk about the shows like they have meaningful plot and characters and then... then I actually give them a watch and it's just garbage. What the hell.

Which shows are actually good this season? I do like Mekakucity Actors and am currently waiting for the season to finish so I can binge-watch the last bunch of episodes. Ping Pong seems somewhat well liked but I'm really not sure if I'd actually end up liking it. Are 'Mushishi' and 'Hitsugi no Chaika' worth giving a try?

Chaika and Mushishi are good shows and dont have much if any fanservice.

Ooooooh yeah BONES this is more like it. Chaika delivers on everything Soul Eater Not does not. As expected from an episode storyboarded by Iwao Teraoka, the action is really well choreographed, and it's pretty damn exciting to watch. This climax is really shaping up to be an explosive end to the season. The various plot elements the show has been building up are starting to intertwine now, and while it's great to stuff coming together, it's going to be pretty painful next week knowing that the rest of the story doesn't continue until October. It's going to hurt so good. <3

FUNimation almost pulled another "Sankarea" incident with Ben-To by releasing the TV-edit instead of the uncensored BD-content. More information here.

Don't worry so much about the little sister in No Game No Life, Jibirl is the saviour.

But everyone is fun, little sister is hillarious in combination with Sora and only overshadowed by Jibrils crazyness and Stephs... whatever Steph's doing.

Jibril is by far the best reason to watch NGNL.
