We won't, because anime threads will still exist in OT. I really don't think this is a major concern in practical senses, and I'm confident it'll work out.
Hell the way the community looks right now. I'm sure it will get a hell of a lot more activity to begin with too.

We need a list of quality animes people need to pick one from and watch before they can join our ranks. Now that we are banished to the sub-forum that nobody ever looks at, we'll need steep barriers of entry to further isolate ourselves!

I still can't fathom how Mad Pierrot watched nearly every quality anime that GAF recommended to him. A true masochist.

I don't even have to say it, I just have to wait for other people to try and outdo me. I love this thread.

One day we'll all conquer our backlogs.

I've very nearly conquered all of 11/12/13 episoders I started to watch, and I've seen all the haremshits in my backlog
except To Love Ru.

Hinagiku is the worst Hayate no Gotoku girl. Speaking of which, I need to watch the movie.

Damn son... just damn

I... believe she'll protect me this time!! :O

I just saw one gif of it and I was already avatarquote.jpg

I'd rather go with boring than Eiken. At least I'll still be alive after boring.

So that's why you like NGE.

I kid, I kid.

Maybe it's a deconstruction of fanservice in anime. I have no idea as I haven't experienced Eiken, but I'd rather see something wacky than be trolled by KyoAni for eight episodes straight and I'm a person who loves slice of life.

You can't say something like this and not go through with watching Eiken.

And there's your problem.

All right, I'll see if I can find the time to watch Eiken this week and if you don't hear anything from me, that means I'm in the asylum.

Lupin the Third S1 1-4 - Watching this right now to prepare for KOIKELUPIN. It's okay so far, these episodes are fun to watch; but a bit soulless. Looking forward to getting to the miyazaki / takahata episodes.
But it had the soul of bad-ass motherfucker Lupin the Third... accept no imitations!

Now, what I want to say is that this Lupin the Third has the forceful conviction (as demonstrated on the magnificent episode 4, for example) of a strong man but also is a self-respected and experienced criminal, he is the cunning monkey capable of anything, as merciful or depraved as the situation comes. Not the Errol Flynn type of white knight, clear cut and transparent like the predictable man shown later, made by those who appropriated of the character.

I mean, this was an episodic series where the creators projected their ideas, over the personalities of those characters, and I have to say I also like what Mr. Miyazaki, Mr. Takahata & Co. made taking into account this notion, but denying the soul of this primary character is like denying its origins and what it was at first, what made him, before those two added to him a different layer on top.

Said that, for Castle of Cagliostro, the way they made Lupin the Third refer to (can we say, lets see... 'retcon'?) himself in those origins as "crazy and young", like justifying himself, made me cringe... that was low, Mr. Miyazaki!

So, first of all, that's certainly some...uhh...opening theme this show has. I don't think that I'll be forgetting who the show is about any time soon. I find pretty much all 70s television music to be gut-wrenchingly horrible and the music (not just the OP) in Lupin III is generally no exception. Keyboards, bombastic trumpets, electric funk, kazoo-sounding shit, rattle snares........I'm just not a fan of any of it, but it's not really impacting my enjoyment of the show. It's all just a little dated in that respect.
Maybe they didn't had people playing Jazz standards for it, but the USTREAM that TMS organized for the TAF had Charlie Kosei playing on acoustic the opening, and that made me realize how much I love that solemn and campy mix of style from those times; no need of more lyrics, this is like an ode for a legendary thief, his name and a rotund but sparse accompaniment will suffice.

Apart from the locked Vagina Farts thread, the OT front page looks so clean now....

Sickening.

Is it okay to hit someone else's child?
Can you get herpes if you share pizza?
What do you wash first when taking a shower?
Vagina Farts: are they normal?

So clean.

I definitely agree with you about the music, the style is perfect.
