It was a sincere question. I haven't been following the releases so I honestly don't know. The images duck roll piqued my interest and the only one in the OP that looks even remotely similar is the Avatar prequel.

It's the second DLC episode for Asura's Wrath. The two DLC episodes are completely anime + QTEs, directed by famous animators.

Aquarion Evol 14

Whoa... This shit is blowing my mind. I got chills when the musical/English version of Sousei No Aquarion played. Probably would have been blown away with nostalgia if I didn't watch the original a few months ago.

Didn't realize
how many people died in the attack.
Guess that really was a wham episode. Nice to see some actual consequences for a crazy event like that.

Crazy training method. It seems like Fudo has gotten a bit more sadistic this time around (even if it's something that needs to be done). Glad he finally got called out on it. I also like how Andy can still talk about holes even in a situation like that.

And lol at
Kagura just chilling in the ground along with the rest of the students.
The hell was he doing there?

People still pay attention to Gainax?

This might have been an 'edgy' thing to say at one point but after a decade of making (largely) irrelevant works it's hard to imagine that anyone even cares at this point about what they produce. Just look back on the decade 2000-2009 to see how many works they put out which people really care about:

2000: FLCL
2004: Diebuster
2007: Gurren Lagann

Not very inspiring, is it? I know that quality tops quantity, but that's a pretty poor showing by anyone's standards.

Here's what I think of Medaka Box:

- Shouji Saeki is a shitty by the books director who is the most uninteresting long time staffer at Gainax

- NisiOisin is a sack of shit author who offends my very basic definition of good entertainment.

- The art looks like dogshit.

I would have agreed if I was just basing it on the Monogataris and Katanagatari, but this is different. After he introduced a character that can bypass standard story-telling, I have a new found respect for him.

I think you're the only person so far who watched that episode seriously, judging by the other impressions posted around here. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, it's just a passing observation.

It might be related to his new-found respect for other shitty writers, maybe he has found extra room for some to share with Mari Okada too.

But GAINAX has always been inconsistent. It's not just last decade.

Edit: Reading failure .....

There was definitely some silliness going on, but it was still interesting in context. A lot of people here just watched it without seeing any other episodes or very few, a concept I can't really wrap my mind around, at least for a show like this.

You know what the worst thing about buying Birdy the Decode is? The fact that Amazon keeps recommending that I purchase Strike Witches and Rin - Daughters of Mnemosyne. I'm offended by this.

Maybe they are aware of your nighttime escapades as BizarroJex.

That happens with any anime though. I bought And Yet the Town Moves and looked at the page for Squid Girl, and now Amazon is suggesting I buy Infinite Stratos and Heaven's Lost Property. I suppose it's a measure of what the typical anime fan likes to buy.

The Accellent Adventures of Fatty and Butterfly Girl

Not the best of starts when I can't stand the main character! Still it was good to see the Ha-Ha Brothers managed to get a gig so long after Eyeshield has finished.

What exactly do you mean by that? I must confess, when people say something is 'interesting' and leave no other explanation I always assume it to be a warning sign.

it's been a while.. but I recall it having a fair amount of biblical angelic stuff. And people tend to get naked.

I first learned about Mnemosyne on the old World of Warcraft forums, where, during a discussion on the pvp viability of paladins during the Burning Crusade era - in between posts talking about how much dick Kalgan should eat and how Kalgan was an asshole - I was told that there was this anime called Mnemosyne and it's super cool, didya see it? Oh, and do read Sundome too, that shit is sweet!

Motherfuckers.

It was probably one of Kalgan's alts.

Guess we won't be seeing more of Gourmet World for a while, what a fucked up place.

They are doing another Toriko x One Piece crossover next week, should be fun even though I don't watch the latter series.
