Oh god. Half of Dallas is shut down due to tornado damage. Work is going to be a clusterfuck again. Prepare cute pictures.

After that scream in episode 12, I gotta go with Hibiki. Chris is cool too though. Tsubasa is meh.

As a character I agree too. Chris had my favorite design by far, but it's hard to beat Hibiki's personality and harem-building swag in the end.

Also yeah, Tsubasa is forgettable. If she didn't have daddy Kanade issues, they could've made her cooler. I appreciated her skill though, as she was always pretty cool fighting.

Genjuro is cool as hell though. I wish they had more of him not giving a fuck and just breaking shit and using his fists to smash roads to protect people.

All of this DBZ discussion had me snooping around Amazon, and sonofabitch the DBZ Level 1.x blus were cancelled after 1.2? FFFUUUUUUCK.

I wasn't really entertained by the battles I saw either, TBH. Just curious if it's because they got better or whether you lunatics liked it from the beginning.

I liked parts of the first episode, but it kind of went downhill for a bit after that until it picked up again around episode 7 or 8 and then just kept escalating until it was the mini-Gurren Lagann of magical girl shows, but with not as good animation.

I can't wait for Symphogear to get licensed by NISA or Sentai, or some other shameless company, and then they can slap FROM THE CREATOR OF WILD ARMS on the covers. :D

Some of the later fights are more impressive animation wise, but I can't really recommend you watch the show for that. Maybe if the art was better. You'd probably be more entertained watching the awfulness of BRS TV.

So far so good,Chiyu is cute and haruyuki is your standard wimpy protaganist voiced by Yuki Kaji, why do every studio like to cast him in these kind of sterotypes?

Anyway, production is good with a little inconsistency, since its by the writer of guilty crown I expect the show to go shitty halfway through.

I've seen the whole thing and didn't enjoy any of it in the slightest. It felt pretty hamstrung by budget, but even if it hadn't been, it was still a garish show loaded to the brim with anime cliches and bad j-pop.

I wanted to get into Symphogear but the alien designs from the first episode looked so bad.

Does that improve at all?

Nope. They look like neon slug monsters for the entire series, they just keep getting bigger and bigger.

At this point I'd like to pay tribute to the fine animators at Toei who worked on Precure, as well as their grasp on anatomy.

Asura's Wrath Ep15.5

Director/Main Character Designer: Kazuto Nakazawa

Animation Director/Sub Character Designer: Manabu Akita

Storyboard Artist: Satoshi Nishimura

Art Director: Mineru Nishida

CGI Director: Takafumi Ishidu

Color Stylist: Miyuki Ito

I couldn't even be bothered to transcribe the key animator list, but suffice to say, Nakazawa didn't even animate anything in this piece. He's the director and that's about it. No animation, no animation direction, no storyboarding. No wonder it seemed to meh. Storyboarding in particular is weak in many of the scenes.

Interesting though, Nishimura working at Studio 4C? Is the Madhouse exodus that bad? Lol.

Oh, that was very good. I had no idea what this was about before going in... But it seems like an interesting world.

The animation style is weird, but it really works for the action scenes.

Akemi's awesome.

What's the problem? Rock Lee>Naruto Shippuden.

Eh, I never pictured Rock Lee as popular enough to get his own series. I liked Lee when he was serious and actually fighting - don't really give a shit about "funny antics". In fact, it kind of sucks that Lee hasn't had a good fight scene in Naruto in like 2 fucking years.

This is how I picture some people here.

This was actually really good. Apparently this was released after the second season, but it takes place immediately after the first season. I suppose this must be the creators' apology for how they treated
Sayaka
because this OVA gives us proper closure for her character after the unduly brusque resolution provided in the first season proper. In any case I'm glad I watched this before starting the second season because it seems to be an important bridge episode, providing us with both a denouement to the events of the previous season while foreshadowing the next.

The production quality was also top-notch, with animation as expressive and rich as any prior episode:

This is much too large to inline.

Gah, don't remind me of Birdy the Mighty. It's going to rekindle my anger that there wasn't more of the series, and so much left unresolved. I want more Birdy, damn it.
