I don't think CR would reject streaming Lupin were the possibility open to them, but I suspect it's a harder show to license than something like Upotte.
Still it's sad simulcasts can't get what is going be one of the biggest animes this season based on brand-name alone. I'd hope it at least gets a blu-ray release in america down the line.

In Japan, the Lupin brand name is huge. In the US, the Cagliostro brand name was huge a decade ago, and the Lupin brand name is usually only mentioned in terms of "dumb decisions that made Geneon fold".

Lupin II: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine: Episode 1
Well... uhh... hmm... don't watch it with other people in the room. This show doesn't push the boundaries, it takes the boundaries and cuts it into little pieces, puts it into its nonexistent bikini and takes that bikini off.
I liked it though. Its super stylish and they did some really interesting things with pretty much the whole episode. There are some things like the stupid line filter and film grain that look ugly to me but mostly its really well put together.
Storywise, its about how Lupin and Fujiko meet and their first caper against each other. As events go, this is pretty run of the mill but its interesting at least.

Wow, the new Lupin the Third is extremely sexualized. The OP is like 90% black and white boobs. The ED has only like one shot without boobs. The episode itself looked fabulous and, as expected, boobs were occasionally present. Shame the stream was so janky, but I can report it's probably everything you were all hoping for thus far.

I just watched the first episode of Lupin! on Stream. It was alright, but I reserve judgement until I see it in better quality. It's VERY Green Jacket. The music is a big throwback to the early 70's stuff (I even heard "Lupin! Ow! Go man!" or something to that effect in one of the tracks.) The animation looked great and it was pretty action packed. LOTS of naked Fujiko; it clearly isn't afraid to show them twin peaks. The opening movie was very slick but the ending movie was a bit lame IMO (didn't like the song and the video was just panning up on a naked image of Fujiko.)
It seems pretty cool, anyhoo. Lack of classic Lupin Theme is kind of disappointing, but I guess the Green Jacket style music fits this a lot better.

Yeah, I'm going to have to re-watch that Pilot Film sometime. It felt a lot more Green Jacket than Red or Pink anyway.
I have a good feeling the series is going to pick up even more from here anyway, reading episode two's synopsis!

It was really a combination of not knowing when (if ever) it was going to end, combined with the joy of watching people absolutely lose their minds every week that it aired. A golden time.

I'm sure we all knew it was going to be at most 8. It was the horrible feeling of watching it weekly and wishing it would finally end that was part of the experience. Episode 8 ending it was some kind of extreme catharsis for the anime community.

Nah actually that's exactly how they do shadows in the show. Sometimes it looks pretty bad.
most of the time that shadow effect looked fine, but in that scene and a few others it was atrocious.

I'm a big enough man to say that is a legitimately terrible artistic choice.
I'm serious, in motion it stilled looked very poor. However, most of the time it didn't look like that, which is good.
No, we've seen it in motion. It looks terrible.
I think you're missing the part where we've actually seen it, and you have not.
