That still wouldn't explain it. He's never been banned.

How long has he been posting? Isn't there some sort of time activated thing? Like 3 months of activity?

The Light of El Cantare
There are tons of references to various zombie movies in the first episode alone. It's obvious those responsible love their zombies.

I guess I don't know my zombies. I saw a Chucky doll in Chihiro's cabinet and that's it, hah.

I can't see most simulcasts anyway.
I have to wait for them to just put it streaming on the site or else I just blind-buy the discs months from now.

Oh, Firemind was questioning Junior status with the post amount?

From what I've heard it's time activated for 3 months. I've only been on for 2.

Mesmerizing! o_o And cute as hell too. Will watch.

Aniplex USA has announced at their Sakuracon panel that they will release Bakemonogatari, as well as re-release Oreimo and Kara no Kyoukai on DVD.

Hell yes, I am all in.

Hmmm, seems like the tone is much darker than the manga. Even during comedic portions, the rather sterile and dreary atmosphere remains. Furuya's cat expressions are less frequent and he seems to be more "serious business". Even though the dialogue is mostly word for word, it gives off a completely different feel. Just compare this:

to this

Quite the difference, right? Not really sure which one I like better to be honest.

I think it being less over the top and attempting a more poignant approach may be detrimental in the long run considering some later events, but I am interested in how this plays out and will watch it to the end regardless.

Looks like an improvement to me, but as I said earlier, I don't know if that tone will mesh with the plot at all.

Yeah that seems to be it. He joined in January 19th. In mid March he will be a full fledged member.

Wha? His account must have been insta-approved like Envelope's.

Ultima, you should stop posting for a month just to play it safe. You don't want to be so close to the goal and then fuck it up permanently! Being junior is suffering.

I expected the material to be amusing and charming coming in, but I didn't expect the direction to be this snappy and even a bit clever with transitions and the like. The OP is fun, showcasing the four main characters and their apartment with an energetic transforming robot scene. There's more effort going into this than your average short of this nature, and I'll certainly be happy to keep watching.

turns out there's two other yurumate ova's to check out!

They cover the same material, except in ugly Flash. I wouldn't bother.

Oreimo re-releasE? For what? the DVD release is fine. Does this add anything? I would only re-buy it for a BR release.

Wonder what convinced them to finally release it now.

The most obvious would be the "Dusk of the Dead" poster in Chihiro's bedroom, a reference to Romero's famous "Zombie" trilogy: "Night of the Living Dead", "Dawn of the Dead", "Day of the Dead".

I just... don't like Lupin. This may seem like a ridiculous thing to say, but for me the Lupin III franchise is a bit like watching a Hanna Barbera cartoon but with more perviness (or in this case nudity). Lupin himself reminds me of characters like Top Cat in their let's-get-away-with-it smugness, and the predictability of the kaitou schtick that means Zenigata's always around feels too familiar for me. I've never even made it all the way through Cagliostro!

I don't even know what you're saying anymore man.

Which is even slightly less obvious than the section of the zombie film that looked like Night of the Living Dead.

It's clearly a concern. Based on comparing the first episode and first chapter, though, it looks like they weren't afraid to rewrite and invent additional scenes in order to bring the work more inline with the tone they're going for. For instance,
the manga begins with the cat already dead. The scene with its death, and funeral, appear to be original scenes written for the anime.
Other scenes are also rearranged or altered for better pacing, and the tone of several pivotal scenes is more somber and serious. Reading the first manga chapter doesn't give you any feeling of the melancholy and conflict within the protagonist's mind, he just appears to be a random weirdo.

Supposedly Aniplex hasn't announced how they're releasing Bake. Might be DD only.

That would be a troll of monumental proportions.

Maybe Aniplex bought XSEED.
