The artistic side of this show is so glorious that I have no hesitation about watching more, but I think I'd probably prefer a show just about Fujiko rather than her place in the Lupin III franchise.
I think the show is about Fujiko though. Future episodes should give us a better idea, but I think the first episode was framed the way it was because if Lupin isn't a major part of the first episode of a series called Lupid the Third, people would probably get upset.
Enjoyed this a lot more than the first two episodes as it shifts from the Yuujou wa Shoujo stuff and delves more into the intricacies everypony has instead.
Spike is a pretty neat character essentially the surrogate of the viewers who aren’t the intended demographic, so males in their young 20’s like myself. He claims to want to do nothing as goofy as the Grand Galloping Gala and tries to keep his distance away from the shenangians but really deep down he enjoys it as much as the rest of them
This episode is entirely predictable and really doesn’t go for anything crazy but it still works out really well in its execution. The girls all want to be Twilight’s bestest friend ever for a day and they all begin to jockey for that golden ticket but in means that are accurate and enjoyable to themselves.
The Benny Hill (but legally not!) chase scene was quite enjoyable and eventually leads to everypony realizing they’ve been ingrateful pricks to the great goddess Twilight. Twilight, being the greatest pony ever, does the right thing and is thus rewarded for it.
Although Princess Celestia seems to be a bit of a jerk herself, why didn’t she do that from the very start? And why does she like misleading Twilight as has been the case in the first 3 episodes? I don’t like her very much.
I just read the first chapter of the manga, and it was significantly worse. It's more or less the same plot as the first episode, but the presentation, direction, editing, and pacing are hugely improved in the anime. I'm more impressed with the director(and scriptwriter) than I was before.
Although Princess Celestia seems to be a bit of a jerk herself, why didnt see do that from the very start? And why does she like misleading Twilight as has been the case in the first 3 episodes? I dont like her very much.

Princess Trollestia does this all the time. She makes twilight live in a library in a town that never seems to read. She saddles her student with at pet/servant that could destroy her and all her friends. There's a theory that she's even responsible for the maine 6 not achieving their full potential and thus stuck around in Ponyville.
(I read this somewhere buy my wife doesn't buy it.)
Rainbow Dash got a government job. (The princess)
Rarity is a talented designer who is more suited for the capitol (maybe the princess wouldn't let her open shop there?)
Fluttershy lives on a nature preserve with no neighbors. (The princess)
Pinkie Pie has a wild child spirit, but stays in one town instead of being a nomadic partier. (Is the cake shop housing her at The princess's request?)
Apple Jack has a farm that is constantly the only farm producing apples, but is always cash poor. (The princess price fixes the apples to keep her from success?)
All of this is needed to gather the elements of harmony for it's important moment for when her sister comes back after Trollestia imprisons her on the Moon for 1000 years.
ARE YOU READY, MOTHERFUCKERS?! In 24 hours, Fate/Zero S2 will resume streaming on Nicovideo. The gods of Aniplex smiles upon us. Today in Japan they screened the first two episodes of S2 (ep14 and ep15) at a special event, and the impressions are overwhelmingly positive. The quality of the animation and the direction in the major battle that picks off where the cliffhanger of last season left off is said to be visually amazing and on par with high production theatrical anime.
Something something worth a thousand words something. I guess I'll accept that there was some deeper meaning or serious consideration involved because it's Jex.
This is definitely cute. No other way around it.
A cute anime and I like it. It doesn't do anything amazing, but it looks nice, I like the antics of the characters, I actually got their names halfway into the episode so they at least stand out to me in their one character note ways, and the romance here is actually pretty nice. No need for working out feelings or anything like that, it's there and that's about it.
Not just because of Hansode Shiranui, who is a god-tier cute character, but Medaka is also really likeable. Im not just referring to her assets either.
The show is pretty and colorful, and has a fast pace, which I like. If this goes on to become some sort of fighting show, I'm ok with that.
I do have to wonder if Medaka trying to please everybody will end up having disastrous consequences, because you CANT please everybody. You will inevitably hurt somebody.
I'm interested in the show and will definitely watch more of it, especially for more Hansode.
expectations exceeded x 10000000000, I welcome this SHAFT-flavored dark horse contender in the Spring '12 top tier. I don't think that the premise or plot is going to be of any major significance to me, but holy sdksghdgsjd the atmosphere. The creeping darkness, the cold light, the green night sky, the overgrowth and decay, the top-down perspectives; it all comes together to incredible effect and elevates the episode well beyond the paper-thin individuality of the characters.
I mean, sure, Chihiro is already a step above your average anime protagonist in that he has an identifiable hobby and faces some level of emotional turmoil not related to a girl, but he's not necessarily a compelling-enough character and the show doesn't necessarily have that special a premise to warrant the really special visual direction that it's received. I have no idea why the whole thing wasn't just animated in bubblegum colors with low-budget minimalist backgrounds, tons of CG, and splashed with high school/moe bullshit for an extra dash of appeal, but I'm thankful that something about Sankarea warranted going the extra mile.
I wouldn't argue that the quality of this episode entirely began and ended with the visuals, though. I was impressed at times with the handling of the characters themselves--Chihiro's father and sister weren't immediately reduced to their base character archetypes even though this tends to be the fate of background family members. In the scene after
Babu's death
, I was surprised to see Chihiro's father and sister genuinely
grieving with him
. His father sincerely apologizes that
he couldn't give Babu a proper burial at the shrine
, and his sister
expresses frustration that her obligation as a monk's child is to endure her sadness quietly
, which isn't something that you would expect a character first introduced as a generic kuudere to say. I hope that these small flourishes of humanization carry on into future episodes.
And, since everyone seems to be posting their favorite shots, here are a couple of mine that haven't been posted over and over yet:
