"reprint" in the NA anime industry generally implies a downgrade, as I'm sure you well know from S.A.V.E. editions and such. Aniplex is probably going to put some loose discs in a sandwich bag and charge $50.

also, to console anyone who wanted the LE boxset of Oreimo, just get the Fate Zero boxset instead. the bonus is that you get bluray discs and an actually great show to go with it.
I just read the first chapter of the manga, and it was significantly worse. It's more or less the same plot as the first episode, but the presentation, direction, editing, and pacing are hugely improved in the anime. I'm more impressed with the director(and scriptwriter) than I was before.
I'm kind of torn. On one hand, Furuya annoys the hell out of me in the manga with his stupid cat expressions and I'm glad they're being toned down. On the other hand, I fear the more somber tone overall will make the mood whiplash a lot less effective.
Also not a fan of the schizophrenic Bakemono/Nisemono cuts thing they got going on, but I do know it doesn't end up as boring as that, so hopefully it won't be a major distraction.

Not the same! Also it's six times as much money. And Oreimo is a great show! I'll be forever sad I missed the LE by like half a week. It sold out literally days before I was going to order it.

the LE isn't anything special really. You're not missing much.
Unless the rerelease doesn't have the additional episodes like this set. but I don't think they would cut that much content. they might even add some things.
To be fair, the only time I've tried watching it was when it was on the SciFi channel at midnight when they used to show one anime film a week. On a school night and everything. So maybe it would be better if I tried watching it while awake.

Haters gonna hate! I'm more excited for season two than I have been for any other anime in a long time. I will be the one and only representative of the Kirino Defense Force.
It's got all the content from what they said. Mostly I just want the baubles, haha.

Man, I'm way behind on stuff I wanna check out. Feels pretty good, actually.
Polar Bear Cafe 1
There's just something unnatural about the way these realistically styled animals behave and interact with what seems like a predominant human population. The pacing is super slow and the humor is way more miss than hit but it has an unexplicably pleasant mood and I guess I can sorta see how someone can find something to like here even if I don't think this is for me.
Sengoku Collection 1/2-ish
To be fair, I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to brave this one but I just had to bail once the dude seemed to be genuinely terrified upon seeing a naked female. This is certainly one of those cases were shit is so "anime" it hurts to watch.
Medaka Box 1
Honestly, it might be a combination of watching it directly after bailing on Sengoku and the anti-hype it's been receiving but it didn't strike me as completely terrible. Sure, everything looks garishly colorful, the characters all seem like cardboard cut-outs reciting their lines and I can see Medaka getting on my nerves fast but at least it didn't cause me any major physical pain and I'm also sort of interested in this genre switch everyone keeps bringing up. I'll give it at least a couple more episodes for cosmicbro.

Man, with aftermarket values like that, I'm surprised that people don't hoard/flip the shit out of Aniplex series. It would probably jack prices even higher because their supplies of limited run stuff would run out all the more quickly.
So Kodaka apparently got tired of trying to make real friends and decided to look for zombies instead. (the main character is Kodaka's seiyuu, if that's what you're wondering) His hair makes him look like a cat though. It's weird.
Wanko is too awesome a girl to actually "win" sadly. ;_; Which is why it sucks that this isn't a Shaft show, because then I could have made a funny joke like "Shaft proves once again that childhood friends always get the shaft!" or something. >>;
But apparently the main girl is Sanka Rea, a rich girl who can't live a normal life and who's father has hobbies that outta get him thrown in jail. He's apparently the school principle, but I'm going to lie and say he's the school dean because this is from Studio Deen. *badum tish*
If Oreimo is any indication, that boxset is going to be worth a stupid amount of money later when its OOP.
I never thought of this stuff as an investment, but it actually could be.
I mean, that guy wasnt kidding when he said Oreimo was selling for 600$. Here it is listed for $650!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oreimo-DVD-O...item46028c5495
Also the postcards and shit really aren't THAT great to begin with. This is honestly perplexing. Like, I don't fucking understand it. I'm glad to have the set but I mean FUCK.
I have completed my viewing of the first episode in the Medaka Box series. I hope to get used to this anime style as quickly as possible and enjoy all it has to offer. But... I'm surrounded by characters that quite frankly, irritate the living shit out of me, and I'm kind of freaking out. The designs are not to my taste, the monologues are boring and this blue haired delinquent appears to be able to fly. At least the boobs are bouncy.

I'm halfway between smelling a job opportunity and being really, really happy that the pirates will have a definitive version to retorrent that isn't mine.
Nice pick up from viz, hope it does well to get a dub and blu ray release. Kuroyukihime and Haru are an awesome team, love their interactions already. He's actually a really cool main both in pig form, in whatever form shown at the end, and off the grid form. Hes like a combination of all the good points of Shion and Shu. Shes also awesome too, surprisingly. Taku too, hope hes also in the world. The graphics were compelling as was the world and plot.
