This is so much worse than I imagined. Refreshingly so. I just assumed this show would be about the moefication of guns, but it's actually about girls in school who get turned on when they think about their teacher holding them in his big strong hands. It's creepy gun porn on a level that I could never imagine until this day.

The level of fanservice was impressive as well, I hadn't imagined that it would be quite so direct.

Yes, she's talking about what you think she's talking about.

This should be watched by absolutely no-one. Ban this sick filth.

Ban Anime.

(this show looks way better than Medexa Box).

I didn't get my fix for horrible things from NTHT, maybe I should try this.

The dialogue in the episode suggests that
Kiritsugu was not 100% certain that the person he was shooting is Caster's master. Remember, no one has seen Ryuunosuke with Caster, except maybe the Assassins. It was a guess based on the way he was acting, so he went for a non-lethal first shot presumably so the bystander wouldn't die if he turned out to be wrong about it. When the monster stopped the moment Ryuunosuke was shot, Kiritsugu knew it was the right person, and went for the kill.

This actually makes it pretty disturbing if you think about it. Kiritsugu was willing to risk shooting an innocent bystander who was acting a little crazy, just to stop Caster.

Is that how it went down in the LN? If it is that is pretty scary. But then again you have to think of how Kiritsugu thinks. As long as he reaches the end, which is all he cares about, he WILL do anything. I mean, think of the children back in S1. Clearly it wasn't part of his objective whereas Saber disagrees.

I don't know anything about the LNs. But that's what the dialogue in the show itself suggested. Pay attention! :)

Hmm... I actually already watched it 3 times but I guess I didn't get it. Kiritsugu is a pretty scary man. I actually respect that he's so well grounded on his ideals and in reality.

The novel version of the scene plays this out a bit differently, as
Kiritsugu was using an infrared scope to find people with unusual heat signatures near the riverbank, which was a good indicator of people with active magic circuits. There's no indication that the monster actually stops, so Kiritsugu actually gets no confirmation whatsoever that he made the right choice.
Either way, the implications you saw are still there.

Nah... my interpretation was cooler!
From the typical 'final speech' character narrative standpoint, he had to see what he has searched for on himself (his own guts).

And I know that what you say is probably it, man.

He calls Maiya back after killing Ryuunosuke, and comments that they were right about who the master was. That's a clear implication that he wasn't certain before that, which probably explains why he didn't shoot to kill immediately.

My mother actually was watching episode 1 of Fate Zero with me. She saw
the scene with loli-Sakura in the wormpit
. Fortunately she just said "well that man is very evil" and nothing worse came of it.

Bottom line, my Mother is awesome.

Look, I'm sorry, I don't want people to watch Upotte. I'm trying to warn you all.

This isn't one of those situations where I tell you how about how bad it is to try and get you to watch it - this is just a warning! How else can I put it?

Ah. If you put it that way then yeah. I couldn't tell because I had to watch on non-fullscreen but he was on a boat, right?

Hot.

Really predictable eps... but still fun stuff!

I haven't watched this for a few weeks, but Space Usagi is still in it? I......suddenly feel like never watching again.

So Upotte receives the same ringing non-endorsement that you gave to Mardock Scramble? Good to know.

So this is the new mandatory Animu-GAF hazing ritual anime?

My question is: If the girls themselves are guns, why do they also fire guns?

No action animation in the new Fate/Zero opening, uh? It was still good though. The pictures from the ending are pretty nice too.

The worst thing about this whole thing is, these images barely describe the horror that lies within.

The ending was amazing. I was actually hoping that each episode ending would focus on different masters. This week would be Iri and Kiritsugu. Next week is another. Etc.

Yes, it's a very interesting contrast from the S1 OP/ED. I was encouraging Jex to do a comparison between the OPs so we have something good to discuss, but instead he keeps posting about Upotte. :(

One of those things requires hard work and a bit of time, I'm afraid.

I enjoyed that the ending pictures from Season 1 were allusions to real life paintings/sculptures. Really clever.

So, I get that Germans are supposed to be cold, emotionless robot automatons. But why do they have to wear eyepatches as well?!

I should have stuck with this kind of post. It's so reserved. Then I wouldn't have led so many people to such a bad place :(

You know, if you wanted to watch a good show about little girls there is Milky Holmes.

Judging from the focus of both the OP and ED, I doubt that the ED is a rotating thing. But who knows?

I do like how the ED depicts the events from the Drama CD, though. Very melancholic.

I like how the EDs match the music really well too. The ED1 song laments days gone by and the time spent with someone in the past, and the visuals reflect that, showing the historical lives of the servants. The ED2 song is a total love song which matches the tone of the Kiritsugu/Irisviel relationship really well, and the visuals reflect that too.

The audio is a standout. I enjoyed all of the OP and ED so far. Really good stuff. Plus I enjoy Iri+Kiritisugu. Very charming stuff.

That's not the impression I got when the girl was fantasizing about those huge hands holding her barrel and pulling the trigger.

Just read that sentence back to yourself, slowly. In the thousands of years that mankind has walked this earth no-one has been able to write such a line until Upotte came around.

I was wrong, icarus, original ideas do exist.
