As for the show itself, I find it a bit annoying when a show wants to presume a realistic world but then gives its characters supernatural abilities. I'm sure there are players who are good at moving around a court/field/rink unnoticed, but to essentially turn invisible by your "lack of presence" (to the point where people are in constant shock because of how often it happens) makes no sense.
At that point, why not just give one of the characters the ability to jump so high that he can fly from one end of the court to the other?

I've long given up seeing a sports anime portrayed in a grounded manner, which is why I rank sports anime by the Prince of Tennis scale.
Acchi Kocchi, which is also the cute show of the season which is like saying that the North Pole is kinda chilly.

These kinds of shounen sports manga/anime are essentially superhero stories - the world may be vaguely like our own, but it's not trying to be "realistic" with what the characters in it can do.
Anyway, the sports anime of the season is going to be Ginga e Kickoff, and that looks to be fairly realistic in its depiction of soccer.
... ah yes, how could I forget loliball.

There are tons of realistic sports shows though - Adachi's stuff, OoFuri, the lolifeminist Bsaeball show Taishou Baseball Girls... I presume Slam Dunk doesn't involve magical abilities either!
Also, Ginga e Kickoff doesn't seemed to be licensed or subbed. It's going to be the one show that no one cares about this season. :/

see him get all pissy when Beserker almost completely destroyed him. Good thing Tokiomi isn't as stubborn as him. Sucks that Lancer was command seal'd to help Beserker kill Saber, but what do you know! Rider saves the day. Again.
And he's obsessed with Saber/King Arthur, just like the Caster from FSN!

Well their interactions is pretty compelling.
But it was hard and even harder for me to believe that no one could honestly see him (he has light blue hair among all the other players even, when coach couldnt even see him when he was standing right in front of her), though at least players in game started to notice somewhat, but it was kind of cool...

Sure, but there's a fair number of these Shounen Jump sports manga - and you can throw in Inazuma Eleven too - where a lot of the attraction is supposed to be the ridiculous over-the-top abilities the players pull out.
Hopefully someone cares about it - it looks to be a solid, if very kid-oriented, show. It has some really nice soccer animation.

As everyone has already detailed, it was a really impressive episode. I love how the ED showed scenes from the audio drama.

The Tokiomi/Kariya scene was some good character development, now Tokiomi comes across as a naive fool instead of a more sinister type of terrible father. I like how Gilgamesh apparently even has some ancient airship in his treasury.
It takes a lot more than surviving a wave of sword spam to count as almost completely destroying Archer. Tokiomi's just overly cautious.

Apparently the glasses one is class prez (yay) with short blonde hair (boo) and no chest at all (ugh).
There is probably a phrase in Japanese for the feeling you get when a pure fetish-bait show bypasses your fetishes. I'm not curious enough to go looking.

The King of Heroes cannot be defeated by a mere Beserker! He's just sooo cocky, I was a bit optimistic in thinking he could be defeated. He's lucky he's one of my faves!
Man, between this and Penguindrum, I have to watch a depressingly bad anime next.
