Another solid episode, imo. I really feel like I can relate to Mutta's character at times... it's sort of strange, honestly. The screw thing was pretty interesting too. Wondering how these new characters will affect Mutta's aspirations.
Quite right about the music direction. Also flash isn't inherently bad it's just used poorly too often. A thread on the matter pointed to Wakfu as an example of it used well and as always I'm remembering I still want to check that show out.
I could go on a diatribe on how they ruined the absolute potential of Blood: The Last Vampire again but I'm already burned out from ranting after watching Blood-C.
I love how the OP sounds like a late seventies/early eighties rock song. It evokes that feeling of nostalgia for youth that pervades Mutta's existence.
Look, I'm sorry, I don't want people to watch Upotte. I'm trying to warn you all.
This isn't one of those situations where I tell you how about how bad it is to try and get you to watch it - this is just a warning! How else can I put it?
The problem is that anime is a medium that encompasses a lot of genres and an even vaster myriad of shows. So it's logical that a thread for discussing it would move at a rather rabid pace.
Enjoyed this ep for the wacky submarine tactics. I still can't shake the feeling this would be better edited into a movie rather than spacing this out for six episodes.
Okay, there have been so many simulcast announcements over the past few days (mostly thanks the convention weekend, I guess), I decided to sort everything out to make sense of it all. So:
Actually, as far as a sport show played straight goes, this is probably the best of the three that are currently airing. There's no real forced drama (no dead brothers here) or super magical powers... just kids who want to play soccer.
Kobayashi's voice is still smexy, even if she's playing a boy. That's reason enough for me to stick around anyhow.
It's too bad that this show will probably disappear into the nether regions of the internet as the show no one cares about this season (there's always one or two shows that no one picks up). But at least it's simple enough to understand if you're interested in watching it though.
This just seems slightly demeaning. I mean, what's with Haru's avatar? Seriously? In fact, Haru's whole South Park-like character design seems to be just a gimmick to attract watchers to a cliche show they would usually have given a second thought. I'll try and reserve judgment for now and see if anything substantial results from the character design.
Self-hating and depressing people further substantiating their low self-esteem by making themselves appear even more miserable than they are? It's more likely than you think.
Still shit compared to the absolute perfection* of the original Blood: The Last Vampire. So much squandered potential, Blood+/C didn't even come close to the gritty atmosphere of it.
The Blood-C movie PV seems promising but I'm not going to let them toy with my heart again.
I'm going to let them toy with my heart again and be crestfallen yet again ;_;
*I'm biased since it was my first anime movie and I'll never forget it.
I want to choke the shit out of this show. It does so much so very right, only to shoot itself in the dick with things like
the pointless magical dogfight, Ryuunosuke's The Monologue that Never Ends, and the boss battle's complete absence of tension due to Cthulhu not actually doing much of anything.
I wish I had the willpower to stop watching until it finishes, since I think I'd like it a lot more in marathon format.
Some uh interesting dialogue. I really don't understand what this show is trying to be, a parody? Well, at least watching Saya get her ass kicked is entertaining. Almost makes up for the singing and other goofy scenes. There is something weird going on between Saya and her father.

Kawamori inspired us all to learn from the mountain in Arjuna, but the man we learn from there has always been shrouded in mystery until I saw this movie. The man's name is Osamu Tezuka, and this is his protest anime condemning the evils of genetic engineering. Fans of Arjuna will feel right at home here, outside the notable absence of the world's most perfect boy. In his place we get a slightly less perfect protagonist who is faced with hunting down and killing the kitten he once had as a child, except the kitten didn't grow up to be a normal cat but a cat-human hybrid with additional powers. The story is mainly told through flashbacks as the tragedy of man's folly unfolds. Verbose explanations of background info are certainly not omitted here, so the viewer can fully grasp how sinful our society has become.
Some may call the production rushed or sloppy, but as the Japanese government had just made the mistake of approving research of recombinant DNA, what we actually see is the urgency Tezuka felt in getting out his message. If only we had listened, or the new reality of broken homes, oppressive dictatorships, and billions pushed towards certain death woudn't have befallen us.
I have the hardest time watching anime while chatting/browsing GAF. Its like watch 2 minutes. Pause. check Gaf. Unpause. watch 5 minutes. Pause. check Gaf. Its horrible

Kuroko's ability to blend in to be 'invisible' is already unbelievable. Sigh...
I'm just happy for an actual basketball anime (Basquash and loliball don't count in my eyes); I don't need something as good as Slam Dunk but I'd sure like it to be.
