No, I'd say it's coming sometime soon. Maybe in a year or two. The HD masters already exist.

Hmmm. Not sure whether to hold out or not. I have the Champloo Blu Rays... kind of don't want to pick up a DVD Collection now for Bebop if I'm going to replace them again in a year (especially when the DVD set itself is a replacement for my old DVD set I got in Malaysia like 6 years ago)

Good stuff, nice character introduction episode make them already likeable, telling us about there back-story and their goals.

Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-hen Pt. 1

I fail to see why this even exists. It's the absolute bare shell of Kenshin's fantastic Kyoto arc and, apart from a couple of unimportant plot alterations, doesn't take the story in a particularly different direction. Was this made to celebrate some milestone anniversary for the manga? Because if it isn't, the rationale for bringing the Kenshin franchise back from the dead solely for this lifeless one-off production escapes me.

Can I say anything at all about this? It had lush backgrounds, the animation was solid, and, uhh...that's pretty much it. The modernized, homogenized overhauls of Watsuki's character designs are pretty off-putting. Kenshin is more bishounen than ever. Misao's role was oddly prominent. Apparently her stock has risen in the past decade thanks to her being an adolescent girl. For real this time, I'm out of things to say. Don't bother watching it.
The changes to the story were weeeeeird.... It's probably a milestone and hype for the new live-action Kenshin movie.

It's not that hard to say "That nekomimi is appealing and delightful. My heart feels as if I'm going to suffer a myocardial infarction due to its charm."

But h[censored] was short and to the point!

Persona 4 [END?]

Well that wasn't so bad as far as RPG endings go... no that was pretty stock "power of friendship" stuff that makes me cringe, no wonder I don't finish series off.

Natsuiro Kiseki - 01

If you liked K-ON, Hidamari Sketch, Tamayura, Morita-san, Ichigo Marshmarrow, A Channel etc, then I'd suggest you'd just re-watch those.

At least those have a dynamic of personalities, even if they're trope-y.

Of course it could just be a really boring first episode but I doubt it. >_>

So good. So many tears. Maybe the only other series besides Bebop where I thought the dub was actually suited to the setting.

Shiba Inuko-san 1

As far as shorts go, this was run-of-the-mill. It didn't do anything to make me run away screaming, but it didn't do anything to make me want to keep watching either.

So how did Anime Gaf feel about the return of Toonami, if not for only a night?

Amazing. Get some decent shows, wrap it in Toonami goodness, get those music dudes back in here to remix, get some vid editors in to cut us some more recent promos, and give it to me every Saturday.

DBZ hit a nerve. I never remembered that beam battles were actually cool once.

Hopefully CN sees how hyped everyone was, how bad everyone wants a Toonami return, and you and I could get that wish.

Why does anyone care what CN runs? Nobody even cares about these shows until suddenly they're run for a single day between ugly CG bumpers.

I loved it to death. The stream chat was hilarious, the emotions transcended past my monitor, the memories flooded mah brains.

TriGun made the night for me. I expected to be bored with Astro Boy and Gigantor, but, thanks to the chat and age, they gave me the best laughs I've had from anime in a couple of months.

Best April Fool's Day ever.

OreImo is such low tier suffering.

Ah, I see. Glad to know I missed out then.

You have no soul

I think Astro Boy 1st ep is legitimately amazing even without stream chat. Apart from anything else, it's great to see where anime all began.

You can buy over 1000 minutes of Astro Boy for $20 on Amazon.

Unfortunately CN never airs Gundam wing nor Dragonball or any anime except for Akazuchin cha cha in my country. AXN fills in the void though.

One of my first formative memories was watching Jupiter Jazz, Part I, in a chair at 11 o'clock at night while my parents were having a dinner party with all the adults in another room. I can't even remember if it was Toonami to be perfectly honest, it might have just been Adult Swim, but I definitely have amazing after-school memories of Zoids and DBZ.

Risette

A Good Citizen
No-one can buy me Steve Blum wisecracking about ME3.
But that doesn't have anything to do with where anime began.

Anyways, I just found the whole thing amusing, especially considering that I recently decided to start watching all of Dragonball and DBZ simply to finish what I started [on Toonami] when I was a kid.

Fucking first four Dragon Boxes are OOP and so expensive on ebay. Somebody sell me theirs cheap!!

It's crazy how many people on here have memories specifically regarding Jupiter Jazz, Part I.

I think that for a lot of people, CNs Toonami and the shows that they played, had a big part in their introduction to anime.
I watched Toonami too, but it's 2012 now. I have no need for a programming block like that and don't understand why anyone would want it to return as a delivery mechanism for shows they are already familiar with that have no appeal to a wider audience.
You must have had a lovely childhood. :|
It was pretty great. Maybe that's why I feel no need to relive it.
