Attack on Titan is probably going to steamroll it for the top spot. The bloc of casuals/lapsed who will vote for it and nothing else easily exceeds Team JoJo from AotY 2012.

I agree with Mad Pierrot. I think Attack on Titan is way too popular for even most other series this year, much less a movie that aired in the beginning of the year like Wolf Children. I would be surprised if it weren't #1 unless the awful production issues turn everyone off, because I find it kinda hard to imagine more shows in the same year becoming as popular.

I personally think it's a shame because I don't think Attack on Titan is very good, but that's a personal aside.

You guys are forgetting that JoJo can be voted for again this year, so the non-AnimeGAF vote will inevitably be split. Plus...

Don't underestimate the animegaf voting bloc. We got Hyouka into #1.

This. JoJo won the non-AnimeGAF vote handily and it still didn't matter.

Irresponsible Captain Tylor 6

I'm becoming bored with this show, and I'm not entirely sure why. I suppose the biggest reason is likely that I don't really like any of the cast besides Tylor, and as fun as he can be to watch, he's not good enough to carry the entire show by himself. Everyone getting upset at him for confounding rules and expectations is getting old too.

Maybe I'm just not in the right mood.

OOOOOOOOOOH YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAH. I'm sad its over, but it has been one HELL of a wild ride. The finale was well worth it, too. Every last moment of it. Well, okay
the suddenly puberty Wendy scene
was a little weird, but hey, what the hell. Every ship you wanted got its spotlight. Well, unless you're an idiot and think Allenby should've wound up with Domon, in the which case, allow me to politely, but firmly, suggest you repent.

Kay but seriously HOW BOUT THAT FINAL BATTLE, HUH? I didn't think The Claw and Lelouch could be any more alike, but boy the way he hammed it up there at the end sure begged to differ. In fact, I submit that The Claw and Lelouch are very much alike in terms of villainy. Both put up a front of being kind, and talk a big talk of changing the world, but they're also vicious jackasses who
murder women who get in their way
and flip out when crusading heroes come along. Pretty much Wendy's entire speech to Michael about The Claw could be applied to Lelouch, too.

SPEAKING OF MICHAEL, brother of the year, huh? I mean
seriously tried to choke his sister to death!
Yeeeesh. Also,
did that rock crush him and Fossilina to death?

Oh man, and that heroic realization of stayin' true to your goals was freakin' awesome. GIANT LASER SWORD FROM SPACE. Why? BECAUSE OF THE POWER OF MARRIAGE. OR LOVE. OR WHO CARES.

Such a good show.

Most people back when the show aired saw Micheal as a super parody of Kira from Gundam Seed/Destiny, same VA and all.

Also, one of my favorite parts of the ending is that you realize all the next episode previews throughout the show were
Wendy talking to the dude in the last scene
!

Overlord at work - 09

Kinda meh episode overall.
It served no purpose except setting events for later ...witch is good i guess , just not what i expected.

Alv has the nigh godlike power of the Ducalian at her command, and is now a living hologram, and she can't do anything to fix the fact that her right eye looks like an anus? Like, nothing? And why does that Anus Eye need to look at screens when she IS the ship? Question: What did the Nobility ever even do to Alv? This'd make more sense if, you know, Eclair were saying all this, but we ain't never seen what happened with Alv.

DAMMIT, WHYYYY!? How many times does
Donnerbro have to die?

A ONE DIMENSIONAL BLADE? That's improbably cool.

"ECLAIR!!" What, nobody cares that Lumiere
and Donnerbro came back from the dead, too?

Our divergences aside, it's good that you made such a comparison. There are definitely parallels between Lelouch and the Claw
including some that aren't quite as obvious right now
. I think there's an interview with the director (which these two particular shows have in common) where he openly said that he'd been bringing the "bad guy" more to the forefront with each project and ultimately realized he wanted to try having a villain protagonist. Or something to that effect, since I don't have it in front of me, but this is the general idea. Of course, he obviously doesn't hate Lelouch for being like that though (nor does much of the audience), while the Claw is really the sort of villain that the viewers love to hate.

Beyond the above...part of me wishes that the staff didn't tease us so much at the end of GunxSword with the sudden
Van leaving and just coming back to Wendy years later
, but on the whole the finale is definitely quite satisfying and cathartic. So much so that I'd like to see this show appear in a (preferably non-portable) Super Robot Wars game again.

Threads like that Oreimo thread...I absolutely dont deny that there are gross exaggerations about the content of anime on this board. But at the same time, I really think this community isn't doing itself any favors by calling peoples disturbed by this kind of thing "righteous GAF", and posting pics like...that one just to get a reaction out of people.

I mean...is it so out of the realm of possibility that somebody can react to something like this that way? And when some are going to Wikipedia to read the description about Oreimo, or even watching the first two episodes in one instance, and they read about/see the sharing of porn games and such (at least that's what they were saying, including the people familiar with the show)...I'm sorry; being weirded out really isn't an unreasonable reaction. I could certainly do without the pedo accusations, but when there's that many people responding "DAT ass" and other such things, if only to bait people...

...Look, the hyperbole and generalizations are annoying and disheartening. But just think that there may be a point where people may be in too deep to see how this stuff can look to outsiders, and that there are times where these reactions aren't entirely unwarranted. And that many of the behaviors of the people in this community who post in threads like those are not making matters any better.

Maybe I'm just agitated today.

They're also making the rest of us look bad by association.

Is there any significant advantage of Hummingbird vis-à-vis MAL? The website design is aweful.

I'm not seeing the appeal of hummingbird. It's ugly with a terrible UI, and social media for this sort of stuff is of no interest to me. Why is this better than MAL + MALgraph?

I gotta sign up for that new MAL killer thing. Not a big fan of the design though.

What do you guys have against Web 2.0?

Shameful admission that I did not watch the previews for next episode.

Well, I don't know that I'd say I HATE Lelouch. I HATE Nina. Nina is repulsive and always has been. But I genuinely enjoy Lelouch. I just enjoy him as the slimy, craven, bastard villain of the series, as opposed to well, any other character in the show. Like the Claw, I love-to-hate him, whereas Nina, I just plain hate.

I linked the Oreimo Colony Drop article in the thread, I wonder if anyone will read it.

Imagine Genshiken, except the funhouse mirror’s not merely warping space, but collapsing it into a black hole. Now the characters you’re totally moé for — in a non-sexual way; God, get your mind out of the gutter — are, themselves, totally moé for character types of their own!

That's a nice quote.

I'm also a pretty big Precure fan. It helps that it airs right alongside Super Hero Time, so just staying tuned and watching it is easy enough. Right now I'm kind of liking that the main story of Doki Doki appears to be "Everyone wants to be Mana's wife." No wonder yandere!Rikka fanart is so common. Also, Manager!Dabi is a great character.

nina is a terrible bitch. Its perfectly acceptable to hate her.
