Are people still expecting this to be good? The show diving into shit territory to join the other 95% of Toei's output within in the first 3 episodes seems like a pretty safe bet.
Oh, come now. Sailor Moon Crystal managed to be poor within its very first episode! Give Toei credit where it's due!
Only inasmuch as if you want to get every last reference to other shows which usually doesn't extend any further than being able to place which show a particular mech came from. If you're insistent on that route though, you'll need to add G and W to that list!

I'm guessing summer, given that they're releasing the info in May. If it was delayed to fall, I think they would be holding off on this longer.
Turn A can be enjoyed on its own just fine. You don't get all the references, maybe, but they're secondary to the show.
I guess you're right. I was able to enjoy GBF just fine without knowing where each mech came from (though the references is one of the many reasons I enjoyed GBF a heluva lot more than GBFT).

Wohooo! Another great anime. I really enjoyed this one; the relationships between the girls were fun and lively, there was always something going on and everything was just so pretty. I enjoyed every second of it, great slice of life with great comedic elements to it. The last episode, although obvious, was a real tear jerker, glad everything worked out in the end.

Aside from the kid who sleeps and vivio classmates, you should have seen all those characters in strikers.
Also the show doesn't need to confirm something that everyone knows out-universe or in-universe.Fate and nanoha are together and vivio has 2 mamas. Nuff said.

Here's a translation of one of the articles in Newtype promoting the series. It gives an idea of how the producers decided to animate it as well as how the studio worked on the instruments.
I suppose the bigger problem was the StrikerS cast was largely forgettable. Also, I am with Black Falcon, the best friends designation is, while not inaccurate, as they are indeed best friends, still lacking the proper gravitas and has disturbing deeper implications. It is a problem that needs fixing.
It's great but the manga is even better.
Still, the anime is probably my favorite Shaft show ever and now that I think about it they should probably animate some of Ishiguro other stuff, they're a perfect fit for his style.

Another really strong episode but one I really will have to rewatch. The amount of reveals and new info was just overwhelming. This whole body switching is doing my head in, especially with that plot twist at the end. No clue who is who and in whose body.

Using rain as an excuse to cut off the town from the rest of the country is just shoddy writing.
Might get lambasted for it but given the realistic setting, I really don't buy the effect Johan has on people. Every time they bring out someone, who is doing his bidding because of that hypnotic influence he supposedly has, I just shake my head and chuckle.

The manga is better is better simply because it keeps going with more content than the anime could provide, but I would argue that for the material the anime did adapt the anime is actually the superior version. The voice acting, the animation (Shaft's best for sure), and most of all the rearrangement and expansion of the chapter adapted in the last episode make it one of the best adaptations I've seen.

I agree .. but Vivid is about vivio and his entourage. nanoha and fate , while here , aren't the focus so they don't need to adress this as the show is not about them.

I'm going to have to agree with Mature here, SSY's ED is sitting pretty high on my list of all time ED's. The main problem I have with Blood Blockade Battlefront's ED is that it doesn't completely stick to it's theme - it kind of inter-cuts it with some other stuff that I am not fond of.

Someone with better Nihongo-fu than I would be better placed to judge, but I would Romanise it as "Shin Sekai" because "shin" is used adjectivally. "Shinsekai Yori" to me would mean "From Shinsekai", the suburb in Osaka, whereas the show is clearly named after the New World Symphony and the double-entendre inherent in the name is key (because it's a whole new world that the story takes place in).

The Kyousougiga OP is fantastic, both in visuals and music. It manages to encompass everything that's great about the series.The ED is a bit unremarkable but the song is really cool.
And +1 to the SSY ED. The second ED of SSY was actually also pretty good but it was just completely overshadowed by the first.

These shows always have creeps like that. I'm watching more for things like the hot springs scene at the end than the "surgery" that takes place, but so far, I'm liking this a little more than HSotD in some ways. There's less gun porn, so that makes it more tolerable on my end.

As I said, that was quite a while ago. Should they really be assuming that people just watched a show which aired eight years ago? Are those other characters from the enemy group in StrikerS, or something? Otherwise I have no idea.
They went out of their way to have Vivio say how Nanoha and Fate are friends (no mention of anything beyond that), that 'I call both of them mama' as if they aren't really a couple, etc. Here's the quote:
Vivio: "Fate-mama has been Nanoha-mama's best friend since age nine. She's always very kind to me and is a warmhearted person. From a young age she has been like another mother to me. That's why she's Fate-mama. Dinner together with two mothers is a bit of a strange but fun experience".
See what I mean? Unless you say that she just is ignorant of Fate and Nanoha's real relationship, that quote there is pretty straightforward in denying their relationship.

I like the way the otherworld looks. It feels very nostalgic, particularly due to the color palette. This was a stronger episode than the first one, with a lot of the humor being more on point, although there were some awkward moments. The way the enemy was defeated felt like it just sort of happened suddenly, especially since the action had just stopped for the narrator to get a word in.

As much as I love Turn-A Gundam it's still really nutty and weird; I'd really recommend you start with something like Gundam 08th MS Team or preferably Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.

That final scene with Aoi and Subaru working in tandem in order to capture the parts of the engine was beautiful. The twinkling music, the twinkling stars, the way their drive shafts created those beams of light in the sky - the atmosphere of this show is serene, and that the magic doesn't involve combat at all is a nice change of pace from the magical girl shows of late. I like a good fight scene as much as anybody else, but not all conflict in a story needs to be resolved by magically punching/beaming something.
The concept behind them being a team of five was also kinda interesting. All of them from slightly different timelines. I wonder to what degree that'll be explored. Natsumi Takamori is also doing a fine job as Subaru. I liked her as Hiotan and Miku - but my first exposure to her was Misaki in Sakurasou - so her having more lead roles is always welcome. The President reminds me of one of those gelly things from Zvezda, and like Euphonium, the main crux of the first few episodes revolving around the main heroine and her friend having a falling out shows just how differently two shows can handle one subject matter.
This season remains one of my favorites in a long time.

The attention to detail is pretty incredible. KyoAni has always been great at that. I am sure former school band members could appreciate this far more than I could, but Im learning things too!
I hope this somewhat rekindles interest in Nanoha series and we would get a re-release of the original stuff. but its a long shot.

Agree. From the New world is a pretty straight to the point title. Lets just go with that or "SSY". I didnt know thats what the name meant.
