thats fine, but man how can you forget this piece?

Ha that does ring a bell now that I hear it. The music is really nice, and different, no idea why none of the music really worked for me in-context with the show. The art-style and visuals just threw me for a loop I guess, even the image used in the video you linked looks like it comes from a different world compared to the music, which might be why it works for a lot of people as its not what you'd expect. I guess when one element of a show falls flat for me, the rest of it kind of evaporates too, because that track alone is nice enough.
Soundtracks can be be very weird in how they capture your attention, and the context in which it plays in makes a huge difference, at least for me. For example, take Angel of Love from Perfect Blue, alone its a standard pop song, but coupled with the film and the tone of said film, and he track becomes one of my favorite tracks from any film, same with Alone But At Ease from the same film. It's no wonder Perfect Blue is in the top 5 anime shows/movies for me! The juxtaposition of pretty much everything in that film and the mixed messages it sends you makes you feel uneasy.
