I still think "Katou Organization" is a pretty unassuming name for what's supposed to be a group that wants to take over the world. Not sure if that's the point or not. Koichi's still not working with the rules, but now that he's got it through his head that justice isn't about subduing those beneath you and not listening to others... at the very least, he has empathy. He always sort of did, but Reiji being the guy with a stick up his ass is not making things go smoothly.
The chief is still cool with me. He's eccentric enough that the tone is prevented from becoming entirely serious - making it look like the talent show wasn't just a one-off. Poor Risako, though. She's right to be wondering about what's going on at the People's Front of Judea. So far there's a decent balance between the mecha aspects and the romcom hijinks. Nothing standout, especially now that Koichi is no longer acting like a total arse, but I'm okay with the expected. Wonder what surprises it'll drop before the end of the first cour.
Space BattleShip Yamato 2199 - Episode 6
Show is great so far. Really enjoying the story. My main issue is with he animation. The show cheats by having all the space stuff be in CG, rather than hand drawn. For what its worth, the CG isn't awful - blends pretty well. But its just such a shame because the show would be so beautiful if it was all hand drawn. Probably the worst thing right now is that many of the ships feel a bit feathery - i.e, they don't feel like they have weight to them. Well, I guess they are in space after all. But seeing a big ship like the Yamato do a 180 in half a second doesn't feel right. The ships all feel like Planet Express in Futurama did.
Haha. First 5-6 minutes or so was pretty awesome. Wish I didnt get spoiled about the "cat video" part scrolling through this thread. Would have been even funnier then.
Stylish, quirky and some great music. I'll give this 2 more eps. Hope it doesnt become Rolling Girls 2.0.
Why was this so....entertaining and compelling, lol. I love the music and his voice, and those eyecatches, icant. Silly anime concept but kind of funny on this dead Thursday.
No cure for fetishism or even treatment except let them indulge in it, odd. But in the age of the internet I guess people indulging in these with inanimate objects would probably not be doing any harm of stealing and etc. So hard trying to imagine one getting intense urges from womans underwear ;/
I don't mind a good slow burn like, say, Planetes, where I feel like there's proper character development and overall more depth to all of them, as well as a much more natural plot progression.
I'll probably make a longer comment on all that once I'm done with Eureka Seven, but am just in the middle of episode 45 and want to bang my head on the table seeing this. We've gone through this shit 3 or 4 times before already and every fucking time you and Renton vowed it won't matter and to be there for each other. And that's after going through something similar several times before
it even got revealed that Eureka isn't a real human.
There's no depth to this crap. It's regurgitating the same drama and themes constantly without really ever adding a fresh spin on it. It happens with other character pairs too, such as Holland + Talho and Anemone + Dominic. Repetition can be used well, this show doesn't do so whatsoever.
Studio Colorido has a new film coming out in June. In reversal of roles from Poulette's Chair, this time Yojiro Arai makes his feature directorial debut while Hiroyasu Ishida serves as character designer and animation director. Masashi Hamauzu returns as composer.
Ive been waiting so many weeks for Akiza Izinski, to duel and it was so worth it. Hate the audience treating her like some bad witch or something (which was baffling when they were calling her a witch because a witch would apparently take control of an opponents monster card...as if there werent already numerous cards in Duel Monsters in which you can take control of opponents monsters ;/ ).
Fantastic duel especially the music during the final combo. Akiza Izinski has one of my favorite decks in all YGO, its why I usually tag duel with her on Tag Force, Black Rose Dragon and more.

Why am I watching this? Oh yeah I have a guilty pleasure for Harem. So main girl who is also a teacher is worst girl tied with I have no expressions girl. Ninja Girl and Newspaper Girl with unused glasses are best girls.
Also it made me lol how all those students got sucked in by the Breakdown event but no one brought it up later.
Punch Line ep 1
Holy shit, that cat porn. For a show that is all about panties and fanservice, it sure is absurd and wacky, now I got to see how Irridatsu got back his body,

The parts with Renton, Eureka, and the kids I thought were really well done. They're all by themselves and have no idea where to go or if they even can go anywhere due to them being stuck on the beach! And the drama coming from Eureka's transformation is perfectly legitimate. She doesn't know what this transformation is going to end up turning her into or if it'll hurt Renton in any way and there's nothing she can do about it. So her reaction to it is perfectly normal. The drama may be on the same page as it was before, but it's unclear on what exactly is happening and it's putting Renton and Eureka's relationship to the test as it should.
Speaking of that, there's also the fact that Renton deliberately damages his own arm just so he can be the same as her so she doesn't have to be alone, showing how much further he's willing to go for her. I don't want to spoil it, but that's actually building up to something else entirely which is what really seals the deal on the show for me.
But seriously though, the interactions between Renton and Eureka throughout the last ten episodes of Eureka Seven is among some of the best romance stuff I've seen in mecha anime.
Ghost in the Shell Arise - Alternative Architecture 01
This is my first time being exposed to Ghost in the Shell Arise, and I can't see why there is such an issue over it.
I guess the biggest one would be the Major's appearance, but honestly ahe changed looks in every iteration of GitS that this shouldn't be that controversial, especially if they are going for a rookie Major and such.
The animation and music is top notch, as expected. They even included the Major juming into a building while camouflaged.
Storyline has all sorts of political twists and turns, as it should.
The pacing feels weird, but I guess that's just the nature of this being a bunch of OVAs cut up for broadcast purposes.
I'm really looking forward to this show because ever since that Deus Ex trailer hit I've been craving some good cyberpunk.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out. A big boob twin-tailed loli. It hits all the right notes and she doesn't wear a bra so she use that boob string to hold up her large boobs.

Why are you watching Trinity Seven? Hopefully because it's the best harem action anime since Infinite Stratos, that's why!
Yeah, I know, few others here seem to have liked Trinity Seven, but I do. It's good. I'm really hoping it gets more seasons... it needs them. What's in the anime is great, but there is more to cover.

See, I understand that her weird transformation would freak her out again but THAT'S where character development could've finally set in and, after being scared initially, she actually simply talks to Renton about it and they have a god damn conversation for once before either runs away in self-disgust. But beside finding it unnecessary to occur in the first place, it also treads the same ground again and does get resolved by Renton... *sigh* harming himself for her. Like, that's what it took Eureka?
What happens afterwards with the biggest of the kids, now that I was glad to see happening.
Kinda unfortunate I'm not enjoying the show but at least there's still discussing it! Pity about Jarmel and that defense force though! Bet he got banned retroactively for not liking 5cm/s! Now that's an opinion no one could possibly tolerate! *twitches*
Not quite what I was expecting given the original synopsis. Asimov style Robot novels have conditioned me to think that pretty much any future society in which you deal with near-human intelligent robots will immediately start dealing with things like the line between sentience and non-sentience and the interaction between creator and creation in these worlds. So going in I was surprised at how "person-like" the robots were and how there didn't seem to be any question among those who worked alongside or lived with robots of the inherent worth of the androids they interacted with. They're almost pretty much entirely treated like "people with arbitrarily short life spans" vs. "artificial beings meant to do X, Y, or Z tasks". Given this it actually felt like a bit of an inconsistency in the world to see how uncaringly the catalog treated the distinct personalities of the androids involved when it came to the notion of potential
replacements for discounts
.
Regardless, the emotional well being of both robots and humans are regarded when it comes to the role the company plays in dealing with the androids that have reached their limit. This is a story about death, and the different ways in which people deal with that inevitable fate. First episode sets up a pretty solid foundation for the series in the future, lending itself to a certain amount of episodic flair for the structure of the story, though we'll see if that remains the case. I'm interested in seeing more.
Show by Rock - 01
Lol. Probably the only time the introduction of heavy amounts of CG hasn't immediately turned me off but the show as a whole probably isn't for me. I'll probably check out some impressions down the line to see if it holds up but at this point I think I'm going to let this one go.

Well, like I said, it's the build up and payoff that really make it worth it.
Honestly, reading these impressions has gotten me to wonder how'd you react to G Gundam.
Another fantastic mecha show with a great romance with quite a bit of repetition (not particulary on the drama side, but on one aspect people may find frustrating).
But like Eureka Seven, I feel like the payoff (and G Gundam has fantastic freaking payoff) is what makes it all worth it. The ending to both Eureka Seven and G Gundam are both so perfect in my opinion that I can't believe a sequel was even considered for the former.
