Best episode so far. The mix of action, comedy, exposition and emotions was completely on point. And yeah, what is the mascot even for, lol.
Rokuro and Benio are starting to understand each other.
And I continue to really like the creature designs and artstyle and color palette used in Magano.

Bungou Stray Dogs #4

Very good episode.
I laughed my ass of multiple times at the beginning, when the raid happened, and during its aftermath.
Way to paint yourself as super dark and serious only to throw a curveball at the end, lol.
But yes, this show is most likely neither going to be purely easygoing nor purely serious.
But I'm not too worried that they can't pull it off right, because this episode nailed it.

So many good pics to post, but I don't want to spoil, argh.

Exactly the same as my thoughts. It was definitely the best episode yet.

Let's not forget that time when one of the people in the audience tried to hit on Dana (she works at Adult Swim, voices Sara on Toonami and was on the panel for those reading this who don't know) in the middle of the Q&A. SMFH.

I remember lurking the thread during that time but I don't remember THAT happening!

Yeesh, did they not have a rule that anyone who asks questions like those gets immediately escorted out?

I see there’s been a spirited debate over the last few pages regarding a few of the issues I raised. I had hoped my initial post and my subsequent response to cosmicblizzard would have made my position clear, but I can see that there is still a need to clarify.

1. My post wasn’t directed solely at Qurupeke and their recommendation of Kuma Miko. I was just using that event as an example to highlight a subject that was worth discussing.

2. I did not state, or mean to imply, that Qurupeke was somehow malignantly misleading people with regards to the content or tone of Kuma Miko.

3. I am not expecting people to actually act in the manner that I suggested. That would be unreasonable and unrealistic. I don’t think most people care about how they’re representing their hobby through how they discuss it and I don’t have a problem with that.

4. At the end of the day, even if you don’t care about how anime is perceived, or how the fandom is perceived, what you write about anime and the way in which you write it will affect people’s perceptions. It might only be in small, almost unperceivable ways, but it all forms a part of a much larger and vastly more complex cultural conversation.

5. This is why I, personally, consider it important to handle certain sensitive topics with a certain level of care.

That’s all.

Yup. Something about Rokuro, Benio and their relationship and interactions just makes it a lot of fun to watch them.
Also, about your comment that the slapstick at the end felt a bit out of place: I think it was pretty fitting and in character. It was basically Benio complementing Rokuro (probably without thinking too much about it), then realising what she just said, getting emberassed and immediately backpaddeling a bit, lol. The fact that her expression didn't really change at all makes it all the more amusing.
It was also probably placed especially there to lighten the mood a bit, so that the episode doesn't end with too heavy an atmoshpere.
At least that's my take on it.

I actually don't remember how the Ayatsuji arc went. It's been a long while since I watched it.

As for George's narration, I think he cracked up a ton during commentary on all of Sae's arc.

Now you can start SS Plus in reverse order, starting with Ayatsuji. S-type student council president, mmm

Decided to fire up some first episodes, see what strikes me

Blood-C 1

Boy the first i wanna say 15 minutes were a living nightmare. I kept checking my pulse to see if id gone comatose.
Maybe its because im just after watching Texhnolzye and my tolerance level for bad dialouge is low but jesus the sloppiness of the dialogue combined with how bland every character is completely took me out of the show. Like you could not conceivably think of a more boring way to convey back-story and exposition. There was one genuine good moment were Saya's dad had a little eye-brow titch reaction, that was literally the only moment i was engaged with a character or the plot.

Then action happened. And boy did it happen. Really well put together action sequence, two characters doing things i understood to beat each other as fast as possible with good music that complimented it. Even little details like Saya kicking furiously when she was trapped were great, i actually got invested just due to how strong that action scene was even though i had no context as to why it was happening.

I dunno if id watch more though probably not. Just picked it up since it was mentioned a few times here the last few days. Saya seems like one of the most groan worthy "anime " characters ive seen in a while.

Dennou Coil 1

The set-up reminds a bit of Digimon Tamers, that kind gltchy mix between the real world and something else. I like how the show mixes its fantastical elements with some really mundane things, makes the concept seem tangible. And the kids interaction were top-notch.

So i wonder if its a "big" conspiracy show or its the kids solving little one-off mysteries because i could see it going either way. But definitely interested to see more.

Blood-C is 3/4 groan inducing sleep aid and (last) quarter of hilarious comedy.

DC is a great pick though, you are on a roll.

Oh I get it and it does fit with the overall theme of the show. I just pointed it out because I had to nitpick something (and a lot of people complain about that kind of thing all the time) but yeah, I love sappy moments, lol.

Twin Star Exorcists

so is this any good?

I would say definitely if you like action /comedy stuff.

This episode was alright and all the cast worked well in this one. As for the new member, wasn’t expecting a masochist lol. The humor was good and all but hopefully the next episode gets a bit more serious; I’m a little impatient with this show for some reason and want something substantial to happen with the story.

Re:Zero: 4

Things slowed down a bit this episode and I enjoyed it a lot. The new characters are entertaining as well as seeing Subaru just interact with everyone, especially with the twins and Emilia, they had some good scenes together. Besides some questionable cluelessness in the beginning, I think Subaru is a pretty good lead. Naturally, things switched up in the end but at least he has a new save point! Now for him to figure out what’s going on this time.

Now that my classes are over, I've started to watch Dear Brother. The first episode was really enjoyable! It seemed well animated too, which surprised me. Plenty of great set-up for melodrama later on. I can't wait to see more!

Lol im pretty much just throwing random shit against the wall to see what sticks. I need something to watch in the first half of the week as its a bit of a graveyard for me. Speaking of which

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha 1

I heard some unsavory rumors that this show straight lies at points in terms of its production. And i can see why. Jesus there are two scenes where the animation and character detail jumps to movie quality, its really impressive but amazingly bizarre to witness. Its like you can't believe your watching the same show.
As for the show looked good. Soundtrack was very interesting and gave a great ominous tone. Nice transformation sequence too.

Is this a Zombie 1

Made it ten minutes in. Not for me. Maybe it gets better when the cast is fully introduced. The main guy in magic girl garb was amusing though.

And third in the long, hard to spell shows GaoGaiGar 1

A lot of set-up but i liked what it was offering. Great mech and character designs and i did fist pump during the final transformation sequence.

So of what i watched Dennou Coil was certainly pick of the litter.
Nanoha-id watch it if i wasn't knee deep in Precure. Same for GGG, i still need to finish Giant Robo. But definitely come back to both shows some day.
And Blood C...i guess id watch an AMV of all the action scenes.

IMO you don't miss much by watching the Nanoha movie in place of the anime series and it's much more enjoyable. I'm biased because I had already seen the series beforehand though.

Wdf is up with the women on this show.

I feel like this show jumped into this business with the Mafia too fast. We haven't really seen this agency do anything that justifies them being an agency at all.

I didn't realize how big my Anime collection is till I actually put all of them out on the floor and took a picture which I never do as I don't really have the space to put everything out till now.

The image above is taken on Dec 1, 2014 of what my Anime collection look like at that time. Nothing too crazy big.

This is my current picture of my collection today April 27, 16. The only anime I didn't add in as I don't want to take it out is the Zeta Gundam limited edition box set. Man... a year and 4 months and my Anime collection almost triple in size. Sigh...I need a bigger bookshelves.

Joker Game #4
Still decent, so I guess I'll keep watching. My only gripe so far is that I'd rather have more multiparts so that the characters and setting could be explored a bit more before being dropped in favor for a new group of spies, since I'm not entirely happy with how it has to introduce a group of people, do some spy twist and then wrapping things up in a single episode.

It hasn't gone down the dark road I thought it was earlier, but it has gotten pretty interesting with the reveal on what is really going on. Now, let's see how he can make Japan great again!

Thank you Master Anno for delievering unto us this hot-ass garbage. After you finish making your shitty Godzilla fan film, please give us an Eva finale that makes End of Evangelion look like the series finale to The Andy Griffith Show. Amen.

Ok, they fooled me. I thought for sure they were going to keep up the edgy dark tone the rest of the show, then
that ending with the bodies flying out the window then the teasing part
It surprised me. Now, the show itself isn't something I'm normally interested in, but it's entertaining enough to stick with for the comedy.

Nanoha has the best magical girl battles of any magical girl series.

Prove me wrong.
Princess Tutu doesn't count.

You are not wrong, and that goes double for Nanoha movies, it is like an Ace Combat anime. Worth watching just for the combats.

Is this a strong bromance or classic BL romcom brewing here? I decided to check it out because of all the positive reviews and it was definitely unique, but very slow and not too much comedy. Does its pace speed up, or does the pacing stay slow to match his listlessness?

I would rather them just do actual cases then any of this stupid Port Mafia stuff. There's just no sort of buildup to any of this.

Strong bromance. It does pick up after the first episode when more characters are added that play off Tanaka and Ohta's personalities better.

Joker Game 4

Just so I have things straight, the spy was
playing the roles of both Hajime (the journalist) and Kusanagi (the leftist leader).
Is that correct, or am I just dumb?

From the New World 23

caves caves caves
Shun
caves

From the New World 24

more caves

I still expect Wareta Ringo to play at the end of every episode, and every time I'm always disappointed that the second ED kicks in instead. What a waste.

Correct.

I think one of my big issues with Joker Game is that each episode seems entirely about some mystery or other, and not at all about the characters. I find that fairly unsatisfying even in an episodic series like this one.

she cannot live as a zombie forever
