FFXV without a doubt.
But people have been waiting for Persona 5 for 8 years.
Waiting for reviews is invariably the smart approach.Am I the only one who would wait for reviews before picking between these two games?
IIRC Persona 4 barely sold 1M
Is is this a blantant recognition that Persona 5 will represent a massive growth for the series ?
Maybe in the west, I feel like Mass Effect has become too much of a third person shooter to compete in the RPG genre. Bioware games in general feel more and more like action games.
this is about Japan though.
Persona is extremely more significant in Japan than Mass Effect will ever be.
AFAIK, Persona 5 ranked higher than FFXV in a recent Famitsu poll.Is is this a blantant recognition that Persona 5 will represent a massive growth for the series ?
Persona 5 no question.

People kept saying that, so I bought it, played it for hours, then turned it off because it was too boring.
Why does Final Fantasy get such a bad rep? One kinda bad game out of 15 great games isn't really a bad track record. If you think the company that invented JRPGs is scared of some company that still makes games for the Vita (lol) I don't know what to tell you.
Has square been so long out of the loop that they're getting scared?
That wasn't the only thing they asked apparently

LOL so weird. Hype for Persona 5 has to be pretty high for SE to be asking this stuff.
Probably getting neither. Persona's style/setting/life sim has always kept me away from the series. I see it get so much love online so I often consider taking the plunge but I never end up pulling the trigger. As to FF, I've not played a mainline Final Fantasy since putting XII down part way through. I enjoyed what I played of XIV, but that was an MMO with lots of nods to classic FF. Maybe FFXV will give me a reason to return to the series? From what I've seen/heard it does not look like that is the case, but who knows.
I feel forced to post that Persona 3 is a million times better than Persona 4.
The best thing about 5 is that the tone is closer to 3 and we can put the bad bear jokes to rest.
FFXV, I am to old for Persona.
What?
The entire FF series is anime as fuck.
Why bother? Both games are anime lol you're in the wrong lane buddy.
Okay, I despise the more cartoony, colorful anime style.
.Maybe I should've been more clear. The anime style used in Persona turns me off(cartoony, colorful, etc). Never liked it, whether it's in games, TV/cartoons or movies. The style used in FFXV is not comparable to Persona.
Persona 5 is full anime though. Not that it is a bad thing, but it obviously won't sit well with some people. I wouldn't really consider the Amano designed character as Anime for the past FFs. There are nowhere close.
Final Fantasy XV goes with a more realistic visual style. I mean look at these character designs.
They are mixed with some that look like they are straight out of an Anime i.e Noctis and Prompto.
Damn, they scared.
Maximizing profits it's not about being scared. It's like releasing SF and Tekken during the same month neither game would benefit. What needs to be done is have both titles release a few months from each other so the genre remains healthy and both titles have successful launches.
You guys would choose P5 over the mythical and mysterious FF15? I'll be getting both day 1, but if I had to choose, I'd choose FF15 just for the sheer spectacle of a game finally released after years and years of development hell.
Both of you clearly missed my earlier replies

Thank you. Exactly this. The anime style used in games like Persona does nothing for me. Same with cartoons/movies. FFXV has a more realistic aesthetic, even if it falls under the anime banner. I much prefer that over the Persona look.
Persona 4 has fans that absolutely despise anime art styles and high school settings. I would say keep an open mind and give it a shot, but to each their own.
