Microsoft has more moneySony the savior yes...
It's a money hat.
There it is. That shitbox is the bane/anchor of this gen.
In which MS tried and lost at as well.
thats true.I don't doubt it at all with MS relying heavily on 18month contractors in their entire company makeup and why such issues crept into games such as Halo Infinite.
Why single out Sony? Because they won the bid? MS had every intention of doing the same thing.Sony sucks hard man. But that is business for you. There is no saints or bad people. Its all about making more money at the end of the day.
They probably would have to pay even more since it would be going on Game Pass and cannibalize sales. I don't blame them.
Father of the year.I came back from an alternate timeline with this evidence,
I’m guessing Sony offered them lot of money and for Square there is not much risk to it since most of their audience who enjoy FF and JRPGs are in Playstation. So they couldn't make it multiplatform?
What a load of bullshit.
I don't think the bidding war is on equal footing. As I mentioned earlier, Game Pass is the issue in these kinds of deals. First off, they have to pay for the sales lost on PS5 and that's more than Sony would have to pay for sales lost on Xbox. Second, they would have to pay more on top of that so it would launch on Game Pass day one. I bet the fee for all of that would be insanely high. Could they pay it? Sure. Would it be worth it. Obviously, they don't think it would be. I suppose the thing they could have afforded was to pay SE to release on Xbox period, but that's a can of worms I guess they don't want to open.So you're saying that Microsoft could not outbid Sony? Really?
They game on the X, don't let them fool you. They just market that anemic box due to brand stamping.

Explain why an expired timed agreement on FFVII Remake is stopping it coming on Xbox?Sony the savior yes...
It's a money hat.
And FFVII Remake had a times deal. Then, it went to PC.Also why is the article saying FF16 is skipping Xbox? FF16 just have a 6 month exclusivity deal with Sony. Did Square mentioned no intetions to port the game to xbox after that?
Explain why an expired timed agreement on FFVII Remake is stopping it coming on Xbox?
If that agreement is expired, I'm guessing it has to do with SE wanting Game Pass money. We've seen Game Pass deals made in the past for Dragon Quest and Octopath. Is it confirmed the deal has expired? I would assume Sony re-upped the deal with the eventual 2 sequels coming out.Explain why an expired timed agreement on FFVII Remake is stopping it coming on Xbox?
Still posting this retarded shit, I see. This mentions nothing of timetables, nor do they know WTF a first party game is.Because it never expired
Microsoft: Sony Has "Xbox Exclusion" Agreements With Third-Parties, Includes FF7 Remake
A new document via the UK's CMA has Microsoft stating that Sony has entered what it calls "Xbox Exclusion" deals with certain game companies.mp1st.com
Some prominent examples of these agreements include Final Fantasy VII Remake (Square Enix), Bloodborne (From Software), the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI (Square Enix) and the recently announced Silent Hill 2 remastered (Bloober team).

Game Pass is not mandatory. Xbox could just make it a non-GP exclusive.I don't think the bidding war is on equal footing. As I mentioned earlier, Game Pass is the issue in these kinds of deals. Read the article this thread is about. From the article:
"More recently, however, Square Enix has been even more dismissive of Xbox than ever, with most-wanted JRPG Final Fantasy 7 Remake still absent from the platform despite an expired exclusivity agreement, and Final Fantasy 14 still nowhere to be found despite pledges by Xbox lead Phil Spencer at a previous event."
But then that goes against their very initial promise and mission statement for exclusives going to Game Pass.Game Pass is not mandatory. Xbox could just make it a non-GP exclusive.
Edit: Don't want to be mean.Ok, would the article writer, GAF favorite Jez Corden, would have knowledge of contract terms ?
Be honest. Do you really think this would ever happen for a game the size of a mainline Final Fantasy? It would be absolutely tragic for sales. When I think about it, the cost might be even more to NOT release on Game Pass. Haha.Game Pass is not mandatory. Xbox could just make it a non-GP exclusive.
Xbox had its chance to have FFXIV. They chose not to allow cross-play. It's too late now.and Final Fantasy 14 still nowhere to be found despite pledges by Xbox lead Phil Spencer at a previous event
I swear I read they dropped that stipulation because they wanted it on xbox. Question really should be would it even be economically viable on xbox to spend the money to port it?Xbox had its chance to have FFXIV. They chose not to allow cross-play. It's too late now.
Text him and find out. Or have one of the other sycophants do it.
And even if it does, why would you go through the effort to make games for a platform where your games historically perform poorly; expecially now considering that platform is conditioning players to not buy games and instead wait for them to go on gamepass.Because it never expired

So... MS tried doing what they and their most fanatical claim they don't like.
SHOCKER!
#JustDoublespeakThings
how is thinking from a consumer point of view wrong?
People work hard to get these consoles. and they cant play them, because both companies are playing duck measurement competition and pettiness.
Square Enix will straight up not release xbox versions of games if not offered a bag of cash regardless of what sony does (see octopath 2).
They have no problem porting games, but they definitely want the money upfront to do so.
I guess Redfall caused more cracks in the shield than I ever thought possible.lol, come on man. You are often criticizing anything he says on twitter in other topics. His guess about contract terms is as good as anyone elses on a message board.
They’ve conditioned their userbase into expecting it. It’s a huge problem for them, really.Game Pass is not mandatory. Xbox could just make it a non-GP exclusive.
I swear Redfall is the most popular game on NeoGAF. The mindshare is incredible for a below 60 metacritic game.I guess Redfall caused more cracks in the shield than I ever thought possible.
I said this before and I’m sure it will trigger some people but if you in to JRPG or overall Japanese games, Xbox is not the best choice.
An xbox non GP exclusive would sell so bad It makes me wonder how much would MS need to pay for that to happen. They’ve conditioned their userbase into expecting it. It’s a huge problem for them, really.
Sony on the other hand allow the publisher to make their $70 windfall, then negotiate deals for PS+. It’s very publisher friendly and it’s why PS+ is gonna start feeling pretty powerful.
