Gowron was way too goofy. Eyes always looking like they're about to pop out of his head.
The way he turns in the chair as he says the line I quoted. I Lol'ed.DrForester said:Gowron was way too goofy. Eyes always looking like they're about to pop out of his head.

Lower Decks was a really solid episode that doesnt get alot of love but it was enjoyable.Rex Banner said:
Hey now don't hate on Gowron. The guy lasted from early on in TNG all the way until the end of DS9! Always love episodes that feature him.
Also, am I the only person that really likes Lower Decks? Great episode that makes you look at the senior staff through the eyes of young ensigns. Made me appreciate them even more.

the only Treks with long serialized arcs are the later seasons of DS9 and the third season of Enterprise. (The fourth season has several three episode arcs as well).gdt5016 said:Is TNG worth watching for someone who prefers serialized drama? I'm a huge sci-fi fan too. That episode made every woman on board the Enterprise horny.Margalis said:I recently watched all of TNG in order when it played on KTLA. I hadn't seen a lot of the early episodes since they first aired.
The first season is interesting. A lot of it is awful, but if you know the rest of the series a lot of it is strangely entertaining. Like Picard being an asshole and also them trying to play up his hatred of kids. It's really obvious they latched onto that as one of the 5 or so bullet points that originally defined him.
I also found myself enjoying some episodes that I remembered as terrible, like the one with the water-borne lust disease that was basically a remake of a TOS episode. The interaction between Crusher and Picard in that episode is hilarious.
Margalis said:TNG has a lot of loose ties between episodes. Like guys who show up in one episode show up again in episodes down the road. (Tomalak for example) The show definitely rewards you for having watched previous episodes.

Then how they retconned that away by never mentioning it again and always going at Warp 9+
Definitely, an excellent episode.DBebm5 said:I hate to further contribute to the derailing of this thread from its original mission, but I just wanted to profess my love for an underrated TNG episode not on the watching list: The Most Toys. Great evil performance by Saul Rubinek (a character actor that, if you don't know by name, you probably know by the face). And it adds a texture of ambiguity to Data's character that is awesome and truly chilling.

Teh Hamburglar said:They designed a new warp core which prevented the damage from occurring.
Zzoram said:That's what I assume they could say but did they ever actually say it?
Teh Hamburglar said:I thought they said it in Voyager (which explains why Voyager had the weird nacelle pylons that went up and down).
Like the actors themselves, the chat segments are very different. Sir Patrick Stewart is very thoughtful and reflective, Kate Mulgrew speaks more emotionally and with humor, Scott Bakula provides a mix of being analytical with joviality (and singing), Chris Pine is very respectful and reverential, and Avery Brooks is just kind of out there.

An-Det said:I'm nearing the end of Season 5 myself (I watched Think Tank last night). It's not bad, but the range of characters makes some episodes much worse. Janeway, Seven, Tuvok, and the Doctor are all great, but goddamn the rest of them are painful at times. The episodes themselves are a mix, usually at least decent.
